You don't need this mod anymore, it has been added to the Highlander in version 1.29.

@C7 great news! Thank you!

@JeffbotClassic.TTV yeah the base game effect uses the unit max stat.
Meaning a soldier with 40 current will out of 50 max will, once affected by Brutal, will have 47 current will out of 50 when it should have been 37.

The fix should land in the Community Highlander at some point. I will then update the mod to let everyone know.

I saw this mod featured and was wondering what this means exactly. Are you saying with out this mod that "brutal" was increasing my soldiers will? If so I will download I just want to make sure it wont effect anything else

A simple test shows it works like a charm for my case. Thank you!

@C7 this update should fix it. I wasn't able to reproduce in the end but I summoned all (Better) Chosen and tested their things. The correct will modifier applied.

Ok thank you! I will investigate

I checked the log, the value is correct, but the actually applied ones are wrong
C7 13 Sep, 2024 @ 3:55am
sorry I dont know where to find log. but by editing MindScorch 's value (default -15, tested with -0 and -50), I find my hunter TrackingShotMark actually applies MindScorch will value.

You can enable logs in XComEngine.ini. Mine showed -7 for TrackingShotMark
MindScorch was -15

Thanks for ur mod. it works. However, my hunter's TrackingshotMark lowers 15 will instead of 7 with default abetterchosen config, I will figure out if it is my fault.

Maybe we all are. Don't overlook this possibility.

Oh, so I wasn't going crazy, that's reassuring

@C7 I can make it apply to A Better Chosen abilities good point!

@LeyShade
Say you have 50 base will but 40 current will. Brutal is applied and will result to (50-3) 47 will. That's +7 will boost.
I could have have overriden the effect but I don't like the approach. I would rather find the abilities and replacing the effect there.
If Zelfana wants to include the fix in their mod they are free to do so. It will be better fixed in the Highlander but will still be available for those that don't or can't use it.
LeyShade 12 Sep, 2024 @ 12:40am
Two things: One, isn't this an issue with base calculation of how the Chosen abilities are applying will (Maximum - X rather than Current Value - X)? Two, wouldn't this be better fixed by ensuring the underlying calculation is corrected to fix all Chosen abilities dependant on it, and then get @Zelfana to throw it into their fix compliation?

I noticed that chosen skills that lower will were bugged (including Brutal and some skills from a better chosen). They claim to reduce X will, while the target's will becomes max will - X instead (usually results to recover), which is bugged. I saw your code deals with Brutal. I was wondering if you could fix them all.

Y'know, I was thinking Brutal didn't seem very effective, but I thought maybe my soldiers were just very resilient.
