This gun was made to replace the MG34 but it turned out to have poor performance and MG34 still did better job so they kept the mg34 but not the mg39 so you literally don’t see the mg39 in any movies at all

It is a very rare German machine gun, overshadowed by both the 34 and the 42. Another award for you Fluffy. 👍
