I'll see if I can poke around the map when I get some free time and see if there's anyway to get it to crash. I do have a fairly addon-free install that I test it on so there's a chance that there's some bizarre conflict somewhere.

@jrxjjrk I'm so sorry to hear that! Are you two using the 64 bit branch of gmod? I've had some weird issues with my current map I'm working on and my steam deck, when I wasn't on the x86_64 branch it would crash just prior to fully loading the map. That's unfortunately the only thing I can think of rn, apologies

I regret to inform you that this add-on, "gm_afterhours," has a bit of an issue where I would pursue to load the map, and not even completely loaded in the map, it would crash. This has also happened to one of my accomplices, so I wrote this just to wanted to make you aware, just to let you know, just a heads up, QuantumDylan.

Excellent Map, Ended up walking around this map for around 2 hours, no hud nor viewport (cl_drawhud 0 & R_drawviewmodel 0) Great music, Great Photography 10/10 Would play again :D

@CØZYLo-FiAndChill hmmmmm unfortunately I've got no clue, I know the suburb street tends to chug from a bunch of NPCs in a house, and the cabin sometimes drags the frame rate but it shouldn't be that bad all over the map.

@QuantumDylan Im not sure what addon could do this, all i have is a bunch of maps, a bunch of MWB guns then some QOL addons

@CØZYLo-FiAndChill apart from a couple areas, I get 60 fps on a 1080 from years ago. Actually get pretty good performance on a steam deck lmao. Might be an add-on thing?

is optimizing a map just impossible? i get low frames on almost any map. I got an RTX 3070 too...

@NebluosisNeb hello! I'm so sorry, but I can't seem to replicate the issue on my end ☹️

I can say it works on my steam deck which I keep as a fresh install of gmod without any add-ons, but I'm not sure what would even cause an issue like that. The only thing I can think of is if you have any add-on that might alter or affect fog in any way, I use fogs a lot in this map to make teleports and enhance the late night atmosphere

Hey there, I have a problem whenever I load the map, although it might be my graphics card, whenever I try to load it in, my screen turns black and then it turns green, and this only happens with this map specifically, do you happen to know if any addons or anything might conflict with your map? Sorry to bother, I just hope to get this clear in case if I'm playing with addons that might make the game crash. Thanks for reading!

Alright, I think I've finally gotten the last missing texture, for some reason one of the cinder wall textures has a commented out cubemap but still uses that cubemap. When it's missing it freaks out lmao.

Should be all fixed now though!

Great map, as someone who lives in the Detroit area it's wild seeing things I recognize.

Very awesome map, the music is great and atmospheric, the pictures for added context are super cool. It captures that night feeling perfectly.

Honestly I wasn't expecting a self-portrait to be in this map, but it's good to have a face to associate this with lmao
Also when looking at the image gallery I was kinda thrown off when I saw the 2 Lafayette photos, seeing as that's the name of a famous hotel in my town. Plus, the photos kinda look like they're of the building (even though they likely aren't)

Not sure why, lots of the map just has invisible textures for walls or buildings. Also, I had to use mat_spec 0 due to purple everywhere.

@JSpartan117 It is! I'm a big fan of control, so I figured I'd slip that in as a fun easter egg. The thing near the jukebox is actually just the cover art for the EP that it plays, Havana Lounge.

@QuantumDylan One final question. Did you model that motel in this map after the Ocean View motel from the game Control? Because the layouts are pretty much exactly the same.

@QuantumDylan You are very welcome. I just love liminal GMod maps and liminal games in general. They give me this kinda like foreboding feeling that someone or something is gonna be around the corner even though I'm the only one there.

@JSpartan117 I've been really into trying to photograph weird and liminal spaces I encounter out and about, I've always felt a little weird about potentially getting people in my shots so I'm usually trying to get empty spots even when I'm not looking for them haha

Damn gotta say that I love how you got all those beautiful shots that are in the gallery. Love the retro look to all of them and I dare say a good few of them feel liminal. Very well done. I also love while exploring your well made map how you included your original photos next to the spaces you built. That allows us to see where the inspiration comes from. I also enjoyed your "Places From Film" map as well. Cinnamon is really adorable.

@Force. I did put a navmesh in, but keep in mind there's quite a few teleports and that tends to mess up ai pathing a bit. I've got an idea to improve that but I've gotta play around with it a bit
