Make sure it overwrites the autoexec.cfg that's already in the cfg folder. If anything delete it and then extract it again.

I found it's easier to have it renamed to something like "HL1 Speed" in your custom folder so you can choose to enable it whenever you bootup the game

Nope. It just changes the normal walk speed to a faster speed and the sprint is faster than the walk speed so it still has a purpose. Basically you just move faster overall and it feels a little more like HL1 in that sense.

It's basically the same thing lol. autoexec.cfg just runs tho commands automatically so you can add those to your autoexec.cfg and it'll basically be the same.

What exactly does unpacking the cfg from the vpk mean? Do you just drag the files into the cfg folder or do you have to right click on the vpk files and use an extract option which we dont have? Is a specific program required for extracting?

Sorry, I guess I expected people know how to navigate to their workshop files, that's on me. Assuming you installed HL2 on the same drive as windows, it would be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\220\3367579157 Since you're not too tech savvy, I'll add you and help you out.

I can't find workshop\content\220\3367579157 I looked it up in the steam workshop itself and I searched for it in my files, looked it up in there and came up with nothing. I have it downloaded, I'm just not sure where I'm supposed to look

That kind of thing is way over my head right now. I just tweak games to be how I like them and if I don't know how to do something, I leave it to someone more experienced lol. I'm open to learning, I just don't have those skills right now.

Anyway you could somehow add forward bhop back like HL1? I can't seem to find an easy way to do that in HL2, I know about reverse backhop stuff but HL1 movement is just so much more fun.

I may tweak the values while doing a playthrough of HL2 if it seems overpowered, breaks some puzzles, or seems uncontrollable since HL2 has less wide open areas for combat so you can sometimes get stuck on things.
