Honestly, I completely agree with you—I actually use a different blood mod myself. The Effects Asset Update submod brings in things like dust, fog, clouds, blood, smoke, fire, insects, etc., mostly from Thrones of Britannia. They're often much nicer and higher-res than the effects in base game Attila.
Btw I'm sure your Mum is pretty in her own way, don't worry. x
My mods transfer over SOME assets but I was careful not to replace anything in the 1212 campaign that was hisrotically accurate with something that was inaccurate, for example, the boats on the campaign map are viking ones in the mods so my addition doesn't add campaign boats. ect ect ect.

I really like your mods!
This asset mod replaces effects assets. The original placeholder effects for guns and cannons, when used with my mod, unfortunately look worse compared to the base 1212 AD visuals.
However, I’ve already released my “Animations and Gameplay” asset update, which fixes this issue along with several others. Simply download that update alongside this mod, and those unsightly bellowing puffs of fire and smoke from gunners and cannons will be replaced with improved visuals.
