@Halsi whats the problem with ubisoft connect (formerly uplay)? I just tested and I was still able to start the game. If you mean the online mode, there is a fix that lets you bypass the connecting to uplay screen and then you can play lan mode (via hamachi or something similair).
In fact, there are so many things you can and sometimes have to do for this game to unlock things or even have acceptable performance. PcGamingWiki has some fixes, but not all as far as I know.

Only thing that's missing is TPIK support for ARC-9. Otherwise an excellent addon.
