I already use a custom folder, any mod from the workshop i just extract their files into the custom folder. This method keeps the files safe so that in the event someone deletes their work on the workshop, i will still keep the files.
ok, now i understand how it works.
1. open hud_textures.txt file in Half-Life 2\hl2\scripts folder
2. find the plushair section and change the values as follows:
"character" "Q" --> "character" " "
If you want to use it in episode 2, you will have to copy the hud_textures.txt file to your custom folder:
1. open Half-Life 2\hl2 folder
2. create custom\no_airboat_crosshair\scripts folders
3. copy hud_textures.txt file to scripts folder
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3378289922&searchtext=hud
sorry but i have no idea how to hide it. even crosshair 0 command doesn't work.
if you're going to publish this, please write in the description that the mod is made for 1080p. it will look different in other resolutions.
1. open clientscheme.res file in Half-Life 2\hl2_complete\resource folder.
2. find the Crosshair section and change the values as follows:
"tall" "40" [!$OSX] --> "tall" "60" [!$OSX]
antialias" "0" --> "antialias" "1"
if you want to use it with the hud recolor mod, you will have to get the custom clientscheme.res file before making changes:
1. download and install GCFScape [nemstools.github.io]
2. open steamapps\workshop\content\220 folder.
3. the mod folder you are looking for should have the same numbers as the mod URL.
for example, PLEASANT ORANGE HUD has URL 3373398087 .
4. open workshop_dir.vpk and find clientscheme.res file.
5. make a backup copy of the original clientscheme.res file.
6. drag custom file into Half-Life 2\hl2_complete\resource folder.
what screen resolution do you want to use?
I never noticed this problem.
but steam deck doesn't have health and suit icons...
i think the crosshair on e3 2003 looks like that because the game is running at a lower resolution. so try lowering the resolution to 720p.
nevermind, i found a way to implement recolor support. Resource Vanilla should work, you just installed it incorrectly.
thanks for the feedback! as far as I know, changing the color requires editing hudanimations.txt, so unfortunately you'll have to edit an existing mod.
