Making the Caliph the head of Christianity doesn't make any sense. Making whatever Islamic faith the ruler has become Ecumenical (to represent religious exchange) with a modifier that slows down conversion between the two religions would make more sense for this decision.
Christians would never recognise a Caliph as their religious leader. How Christians were legitimised under Caliphal authority was by defining them as Dhimmi's & getting them to pay the Jizya tax.

@TurtleShroom The whole concept that a Islamic faith would somehow hijack a christian faith under its umbrella is quite silly, you weren't wrong in your ranting but atheists/antitheists, the ignorant, the theologically lazy, the 'its a heckin le game bro' crowd, and the mod author himself doesn't care. So I'd just move on completely and not waste anymore time regarding this.

Please excuse me for sounding rude. I was butt hurt by the concept, not of Constantinople falling, mind you, but Christianity becoming Islam somehow, despite believing Jesus is God. I apologize if I came across that way and I thank you for hearing me out instead of blocking me.

Are you able to take this decision as a non christian pagan? Like Hellenic or Norse for example. On top of that im not sure how it would be done but it would be interesting if you could turn Constantinople into a holy site by decision

Now add a goal for all muslims to want Roman lands, if they are neighbours they will attack more often etc.

@TurtleShroom at the end of the day, it's intended to be an interesting mechanical outcome. I'm sure you're creative enough that you can think of a reason why the Ecumenical Patriarch could be replaced by a Caliph. Certainly crazier things have happened even in real life, let alone in this wacky alternate history mod for a wacky map game.

If you want to give feedback on a mod or something, and want it to be considered for the purpose of actually improving something, then next time, speak more respectfully.

I agree with Caloens, the Islamic Syncretism (marrying Muslims and such) is far more realistic.

That would be like asking Richard Dawkins to kiss the ring of the Pope. I take that you aren't religious, because you don't seem to understand what calling the Caliph of X Islam your "religious head" means. It's downright insulting, that Christian churches , even under duress, would declare that there is no god but Allah and that Munhammad is his prophet. Like, this isn't alternate history. This is absurdity.

That's a darn shame, because your Persian Legends Mod is one of the best Mods in all of CK3.

I think the head of faith option is really neat, nothing else like it happens in the game and it feels appropriate for the (stated) goal of islamic rule- I do think adding the islamic syncretism tenet would also be appropriate, fantastic work my dude :)

I mean, I just thought it would be a cool gameplay mechanic to put the Christians under the Caliph as an alternate history reward, but if it bothers you, you can always unsubscribe from the mod :)

And to add to @TurtleShroom (HACKED, RECOVERED) first critic, rather than becoming the HoF, maybe giving the Christian faith majority of Byzantium the Islamic Syncretism tenet and +80 cultural acceptance would've been more appropriate?

@TurtleShroom (HACKED, RECOVERED) Correction, it's Mehmed II who went Roman larping, rather then Ottoman Turks in general. Mehmed even had the Iliad read to him every now and then. Bayzid II, his more orthodox and conservative son, dropped all that, went as far as declaring his father an apostate in some sources. He sold off many of his father's Greco-Roman inspired arts [Painting, coin, etc].

In RL, the Turks initially appeared serious about LARP-ing as Romans, but they eventually pivoted east instead, keeping "Caesar of Rum" as a title in name only. Embracing Constantinople should refer to that, IMO, and turn you Administrative.

Why the HECK would a CALIPH become the head of ANY Christian religion? That's not Giga-Chad, that's retarded. It's completely immersion breaking.

This needs a serious rework!

For one thing, Constantinople was sacked at least once in RL, but when that happened, it wasn't razed to the ground. What I suggest is that Constantinople should only be replaced with a Tribal Holding IF you have the Conqueror Trait or the Scourge of God Modifier. Otherwise, it should just give you all that wealth and max out the Devastation of the city. Conquerors in CK3 are different than normal nations.

As for Embrace Constantinople, why not allow for what the Turks could have been if they went west instead of east? Instead of changing your culture and religion, why not have it give you the Byzantine Empire and change its State Religion to yours?

Shouldn't this kind of thing be available to all non-christian conquerors?
