It really was. Dr. Muto was definitely an interesting bag of stuff, at most a bit confusing at times in terms of layout, but the bosses and other aspects are fun, especially when cheats are involved

Didn't really flop, it was quite successful for it's time, especially considering the bizarre shit to come out of it, though I'll admit it's quite confusing to navigate

though the fact the game has a fucking RAP song and weird cheats makes it fun

Its a pity that Dr. Muto ultimately flopped badly, when it came out during the time when Miday's golden age of being an ace producer of arcade games was over and the company underwent a very poor transition into a publisher which ultimately drove them to bankruptcy. Matt McMuscles' Wha Happun episode on Midway is always worth watching.
