you gotta use commands, its not implemented yet. if using steam, there is a knightfall SIP patch.

mashtong54 28 Dec, 2024 @ 5:36am
hey try unistnaling and reinstaling that seams to work for me and i think that might be due to some mod data cacheing issue bweteen updates
mashtong54 28 Dec, 2024 @ 3:12am
huh this bug just radomly shows up after it was working just fine.
Anon 24 Dec, 2024 @ 11:45pm
Yeah, FU's basically standalone and a lot of mods don't even work with it. I don't actually like FU much though so it's almost like the other way around where some mods stopped getting proper updates as they got added to FU instead, hahaaa......
mashtong54 24 Dec, 2024 @ 10:13am
hey by the way you don't need to install mech overhaul if you have fraken universe installed bescue fraken universe allready has a bulit in mech overhul sisitem thats is bacly exalclty the same also with tretal mech flight also is bulit in frkaen universe too by the way. just FYI

All techs I had access to didn't work, even modded techs... at least all the ones I tried. Tried all three of the basic "free" techs from the tutorial questline, plus some RPG Growth techs, and a couple from Betabound.
I kept narrowing mods down and the second your mods were gone the techs started working again, after which I put the Mech Overhaul back on and techs still worked, but adding the mech armor and two compatibility mods back caused techs to break again.

No logs anymore though, I wiped my whole game, the entire workshop and all the folders after narrowing the mods down just to give myself a fresh start.

Any specific techs or all of them?
And if possible, a log file after trying to use techs
Anon 21 Dec, 2024 @ 11:07pm
Can't quite pin out the details, but I'm like 95% sure either this mod or one of the two compatibility mods in its pack is giving that old weird bug where you can't use techs at all.
I just did a bunch of uninstalling and reinstalling and the bug was only fixed when these three were gone.

Side note: the mech overhaul mod in your collection doesn't do it, thankfully.
IDK, when I first got the glitch, I tried researching it and for some reason it happens most commonly with mods that affect mechs, it makes me wonder if Chucklefish had used some coding spaghetti with techs for mechs to work.

@FelmastProMcLane Oh I see... thank you, i'll take a look at the code and see if I can get them too
FelmastProMcLane  [author] 18 Dec, 2024 @ 10:04pm
I wanted a way to get all mech parts, so I made some code and they showed up.
I'm using the steam version.
Ikā'ī 18 Dec, 2024 @ 10:00pm
@FelmastProMcLane wait... does knightfall has mech parts? where and how do you get them? i've been playing with that mod for almost a year and i've never seen any unlockable knightfall mech parts... is the steam version outdated?

what mech mod is used for the picture?
Cosmos 18 Dec, 2024 @ 2:47pm
@FelmastProMcLane Sweet. Alright thanks for clairifying.
FelmastProMcLane  [author] 18 Dec, 2024 @ 2:31pm
I'd say yes, I do use Shellguard.
Cosmos 18 Dec, 2024 @ 1:18pm
Does this mod work with shellguard mechs? Might test down the line.
Cosmos 18 Dec, 2024 @ 1:14pm
This is brilliant. Finally. It feels like you're actually piloting a mech. Not a heavy hunk of junk.

Space enemies are the only real military grade threat in the game save for a select few bounties tbf. that being said thank you for making mechs feel a little less like poo.
Additive51 17 Dec, 2024 @ 8:47pm
Oh, Alright. Thanks.
FelmastProMcLane  [author] 17 Dec, 2024 @ 8:46pm
It works on low damage attacks, others will deal normal damage.
Space enemies are usually stronger than terrestrial enemies.
Additive51 17 Dec, 2024 @ 8:29pm
I installed it on my OSB load, and it didn't crash. However, space enemies still tore through my Military-Grade mech.

Is this part of the mod as well, does it only work on terrestrial enemies?
FelmastProMcLane  [author] 17 Dec, 2024 @ 8:03pm
I don't know, installing it won't cause irreparable damage, worst case scenario, it crashes.
Additive51 17 Dec, 2024 @ 7:57pm
Does this work with OSB?
FelmastProMcLane  [author] 17 Dec, 2024 @ 4:15pm
@Lurmey; Should be compatible with FU (not needed), no complaints yet.

@AtomicBeaverCleaver:

Sounds great! But what mod(s) add the mech parts used in the image?
Lurmey 17 Dec, 2024 @ 2:15pm
Does this work with/is this needed with FU? I've not delved into the world of using FU yet so not sure all of what it includes. Thanks
