@Turles No AI used whatsoever, yes this was all by hand. Thank you very much and I'm glad you like it. I did my best to stay true to the original sprites: I'm a huge fan of making textures look as similar as possible to their original counterparts (hence using circles in place of certain square pixels). It really helps with readability when they're scaled down! For the brand new moodles, I made my own sprites in the classic style and then drew "HD" versions of them for the mod.
@the Deciomator Thank you again, you're too kind!
@Lord Eastwood I used Photoshop with freehand brushes, selection tools, and a little bit of the pen curvature tool too. :) Hopefully one of these days people'll learn that not everything they see now is AI generated, so thank you. I take pride in my work-- it's something fun I do as a hobby and out of my passion for Zomboid.
@LegoMaster80 It's the new concentrating moodle! Not sure if it's even implemented yet since I haven't really played B42 for long.
Looks like inkscape, not much like AI or even an upscaled one at that
@Leon Sus Kennedy @uniseth Thank you! I'm glad you both like what I've done.
@Space Donuts No, you can just subscribe and enable it for your game if you don't want to delete any of the mod's moodles.
Is this a manual install or just sub and forget type thing.
@shmurda Nope! I think the B42 moodles are actually fine as they are and the artist did a good job with them. There's really nothing wrong with them. This mod is moreso meant for people who subjectively prefer B41's moodles but want something that looks similar to the HD B42 moodles. Downscaled, legible emotes are difficult to create and it makes me disappointed to see so many people diss the new artist's work. I'm sure they tried their best.
@Crome_BOX No actually, I'm not subscribed to the Zomboid subreddit. I had the idea to do this a day or two before B42 released.
@Potato Gaming Thank you!
If someone could just redraw the old moodles looking like theese but without looking wobbly
I like the idea of these moodles but the traces need to be cleaned
@Krytera @Awpenheimer Thank you both!!
@spoono I have over a decade's worth of experience with Photoshop, so yes I'm certain. I primarily used the brush and selection tools, barring the odd few I used the pen tool for to get cleaner lines.
@V1CeNtE No, I redrew all of them by hand using Photoshop. :)
@Barc Nova Thank you so much! It means a lot to me.
@sprya Thank you! There's nothing like the emotions evoked by seeing the old moodles; I missed them and knew I had to bring them back somehow.
@molecule31 Thank you, you did a great job with your moodle mods too.
@Luna The Dummy Thank you. :) I'm sure the original artist for B42 tried their best-- drawing legible faces is difficult when you have to downscale them later.
