Hey is this Mod compatible with Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords ?

hmm, i sacked his herdstone when i beat him down but i didn't raze it. idk.

it was a fun campaign regardless, getting valkia was a blast, used a cult summoning ritual from a challenge reward to get into naggarond and booked it north before malekith could ice her.

It should allow you to confederate Taurox with Arbaal. The only catch is that it can't be the last of the faction, so Taurox needs to either have a herdstone or another living army to be confederated.

probably should've submitted last week when it happened, but defeating Taurox with Arbaal did not trigger confederation. i don't think i read the flowchart wrong, but feel free to tell me off if I'm having a bimbo moment.

Hi, while playing a Tamurkhan campaign, was able to successfully kill, confederate and recruit Ku'gath. However when I killed and confederated Epidemius after he recovered from being wounded I could not recruit him. Not sure if its an isolated incident or others are experiencing something similar.

Don't worry, I've deleted Taurox's faction from the confederation list, so I'm fine until you update the mod with the fix :steamthumbsup:

@D. Badger: Nice catch, Azazel wasn't on the MCT list. I've updated the list to include him, and I also fixed the help text on those.

@Hemaka: Still working on that update for Taurox, my Lua is getting less rusty, but it will need a bunch of testing before it's ready. Will make adding new factions to the list much easier at least. Expecting to wrap up within the next 2-3 weeks.

Not going to lie, I have a love/hate relationship with requests like that. There is an obvious right way to do it, but now I have to spend a couple hours brushing up on Lua to code and test it. I'm not going to get any sleep until I rewrite the entire faction confederation list in a cleaner way. Thank you for making me be better, I just wish it wasn't on a Wednesday. :p

I'll look at adding a switch for him under MCM. Honestly never considered that someone would be playing beastmen but not Taurox. :)

Not a fan of adding Taurox to Khorne confederation list as it breaks player's ability to confederate him with Dread when playing as Beastmen faction.
Basically if he's confederated by AI Valkia first (she's closest to him), Beastmen player can't confederate him any more. He just doesn't show up in the roster. Similar thing if using Recruit Defeated LLs mod - dillema doesn't show up. Broken. Especially that it can't be turned off in MCM.

Not aware of anything that needs to be fixed. Got any info on the crash? When was it crashing?

If it was crashing for you on 3/26 with the release of 6.1, then yes, it should be resolved. Any mod with capital letters in the table names was crashing, and I updated the mod later that day to resolve the issue.

Fixed. I removed the capitals in the table names I added to resolve the known issue with 6.1 and capital letters.

@sajaxom CA did something weird where if you named any of your tables with a capital letter, it broke the mod. You might want to start with that. It even broke mods like mine that should never need an update.

Oh, nice catch, that is incorrect in the description for the default config. I'll update that. The default setting for Chaos Dwarf Confederation is disabled, so the default array should be confederable_factions_without_chaos_dwarfs, which excludes them entirely. With that setting turned on, the Chaos Dwarfs can confederate Daemon Prince, Belakor, Archaon, and Kholek. They can't be confederated by anyone else. You can turn on the "Confederate Anyone" switch for one of the Chaos Dwarf factions to enable them to confederate any of the other factions on the list.

Oh, I think I've misunderstood much of this mod. My bad!

I thought 'Mortals of XXX' were the aligned Norsca faction(s). So, Valbrand, Hakka and Egil are Khorne aligned, Volrik is Tzeentch, Sargath is Slaanesh etc. the current vassal system makes sense, though.

and I thought...

The Chaos Dwarfs could confederate any Chaos faction except their own unless you change it in MCT.

Thanks for clearing it up. I'll give it a go in my next playthrough.

1) Norsca currently isn't in the confederation list. If you'd like to dig through the lore and suggest factions, I'm open to it (or at least telling you how to build it), but I see them more as vassals of Chaos, especially as they don't have much roster overlap aside from Marauders.
2) Chaos Dwarf confederation is disabled by default. Check the MCT settings if you're not sure.
3) Archaon retains all territories, and they are converted into Dark Fortresses or Outposts, depending on the location. That's part of the vanilla confederation logic.

Really cool mod. I have a few questions/suggestions

- It would be great to see a roster that shows which Norsca factions are aligned to which chaos god i.e. Hakka Aesling considered Khorne or Undivided for the purpose of this mod.
- Is there a way to completely disable Chaos Dwarf from the confederation tree? In the lore, Chaos Dwarfs enslave and dominate other races and align with Hashut.
- When Archeon confederates, does he retain only the dark fortresses or does he retain all the territory?

Should need to, no, but we've had another report of that happening with Kholek defeating the Daemon Prince that I've been troubleshooting. I'll take a look and let you know what I find. Thanks for the report.

Playing as Astragoth, I've defeated Daniel in Combat (Not with Astragoth himself) and cannot confederate. Do you need to defeat them with your actual Legendary lord to confed?

Thanks for the reply, i have an additional question. Is it at all possible to add the relevant skills to valkia, when she is confederated by a khorne faction, so she gets full khorne compability? Like the razing skills and "anti slaanesh" skills. Just like the way khornate chaos lords get those skills in khorne faction, but not in warriors of chaos faction.

I just checked the settings for this mod, and the only settings active are enabling ai confederation and enabling minor factions. I think the problem been how I got kholek in the first place, because I received kholek through recruit defeated legendary lords. Maybe since I didn't get him as intended by this mod, it didn't count when I beat daniel with him?

I'm not gonna lie I have probably way too many mods active, but they're almost all unit mods. The only one I can think of possibly interfering is recruit defeated legendary lords since that's the only one that affects confederation. I'll reload and check the settings and see if it still happens.

Daemon Prince is in Kholek's list, so that should definitely have worked for you. Do you have any other settings on, like Kholek can confederate everyone? Any other mods involved? I'll test it this weekend, let you know what I find.

Just attacked and beat Daniel with Kholek and the dilemma to confed the Daemons of Chaos didn't pop up. Was it because he didn't have another army on the map? I made sure to leave his last settlement alone as well, so I'm really stumped here.

Just realized you noted same campaign, so ignore that last part I guess. Issue is almost certainly that razing the settlement destroyed the faction before the confederation check could occur. Same thing happens if you beat any of the chaos champions on turn 1 before they get a settlement and their army is destroyed. Simple solution is don't kill them when they only have an army and don't raze their last settlement. You only need to defeat their faction leader in battle to confederate them.

You can't destroy all armies and settlements of a faction and still confederate them. The destruction of the faction will occur before the confederation check occurs. This is an order of operations issue in the base game. The simplest workaround is don't raze the settlement when beating Taurox, just sack it, and then you should receive the confederation option.

Likely in your Valkia playthrough he had an additional army somewhere that kept the faction alive.

Hi,in my current Arbaal campaign i defeated Taurox, in his final settlement, razed it and didnt get the event to confederate/vassalize him. In the same campaign it worked with valkia but not taurox.. did i do something wrong?

@Zigg Price: You get their legendary lords and settlements, and their faction is destroyed. You do not get their units, heroes, buildings, or other aspects, unless those units are recruitable by your faction. If you're looking to recruit their units, I'd recommend that you vassalize them instead and use allied recruitment.

Chaos Dwarfs were added before I started maintaining it. Skaven worship the Horned Rat, and Chaos Dwarfs worship Hashut, so neither of those really fit in my view. Loreful or not, the main concern there is fun, and I don't personally like to have lords that don't have any overlap with their faction. This mod doesn't change the lords, so adding Ikit or Drazhoath to Archaon leaves them unable to boost any units, and it makes them feel out of place. For that reason, Taurox makes sense in Khorne/Valkia, as he shares minotaurs and khornegors, but not in Archaon, and Morghur feels out of place with all of them. I can show you how to add them if desired.

So what happens when you confederate across race? Like, I'm Archaon. I confederate one of the Chaos Dwarf factions. Do I now have the option to build their buildings to local recruit their units? Do their units get added into the Warband recruit (obviously not upgrade unless you have that other warband mod)?

I am SUPER interested in this, just trying to understand how it works. I'm currently at war with 2 separate Chaos Dwarf factions, so if I add this in, it will come into play quick.

Also, are Skaven not part of this? Is there a reason it affects Chaos Dwarfs but not Skaven?
