Well that's so confusing to me because I never have this problem at all. Any mods that could mess it up? I'm having trouble replicating it. I will try fixing this now though if possible.

what the guy below said, but even without arc9 the entity spawning is blocking bullets from any sweps at all at certain angles
hard to use this in actual gameplay because of this bug :(

I have a bug where with ARC9 weapons I'm actually capable of shooting the light as it spawns. If I am downward about 45 degrees I will shoot the expensive_light entity itself. I believe a fix for this could be to just spawn it "backwards" relative to the player camera's direction so that I can't be aiming at it since its behind my head.

i can see in one of the videos your smg muzzleflash position is fine but for me its just behind the barrel

this addon is cool but i kind of hate it that for some reasons my gmod has a fucked up smg muzzleflash (for me) which i dont know how to fix, not saying that this mod is the reason to it but i wish i could have found a way to fix it so my smg would look nicer with this addon

not sure if this is the addon but my game lags a ton than usual when there's plenty of npcs spawned and lags when I throw a grenade for some reason

Just updated- performance should be somewhat better than before, however, since it uses an inherently expensive effect it will always lag with lots at once depending on the system. Try using cheap light ConVar.

Seems like ANPlus messes with the muzzleflash light, not sure if this is something on my end or a problem with code though.

I'm having an issue where firing automatic weapons will only cause the muzzleflash to fire on the first shot, does anyone know what might be causing this?

The addon works fine with guns from ARC9 EFT packs, but is it possible to somehow remove or reduce the internessiveness of the light from a shot with a silencer?

I updated it again and it works smoothly for me on a 13 year old computer. Any more performance issues may come from addon conflicts or too many addons. Also, bugs should be fixed.

Any plans for giving the option to disable the effect for NPCs? I've been playing VRMOD lately and the effect really brings my performance to a halt in firefights on some campaign levels.

@Flashyface the mod was updated and now you can set the cheap spotlight texture to anything you want, see ConVar in the description.

@pessifan55 the attachment used is the worldmodel (the one you seen in third person), which is in a different position then your viewmodel. I could not figure out how to make the position of the muzzleflash be created at the viewmodel.

I’m not sure, I don’t see anything on my end… however, when I tested this with the volumetric light addon, it does stutter every time I shoot in certain maps.

Yeah… I think it’s a problem with the Advanced Light Entities addon- the entities seem to collide with bullets. I will try to fix it. Right now I’m trying to get the author’s permission to publish an improved version of the Advanced Light Entities to not only give them features people wanted, but fix this bug.
