I found it. It is because LWOTC disables the schematic for the squad upgrade of assault rifles. This disables the upgrade for all of the associated weapons tied to it (ie. smart rifles, psi push, etc.)

For those playing LWOTC, comment out the +SchematicsToDisable=AssaultRifle_MG_Schematic and +SchematicsToDisable=AssaultRifle_BM_Schematic lines in LW_Overhaul.ini.

Viper - I wouldn't worry about trying to fix that for LWOTC. Just make a note for those wanting to use your weapons. It is part of the difficulty built into LWOTC to force you to buy individual weapon upgrades instead of bulk upgrading them.

I dont have a tier 1.5 / 2.5 for LWOTC. If someone can make a bridge it wouldn't be too difficult to do, You can do it yourself with WSR or Template Master, just follow the directions for adding in new items and use the same models from my mod. Or add new ones from other cosmetics

I like the items added by this mod. The upgrade functionality doesn't seem to work for the smart rifle, psi lightning, psi push, and psi shock for LWOTC. I have unsub'd and re-subscribed to the mod as well as clearing the mod config folder for XCom2. Doing some research I think it is due to the way that LWOTC handles weapon upgrades but I haven't been able to resolve.

If these aren't currently working with mods like Covert Infiltration due to the need for squad upgrades, what game play overhaul would you recommend to use your classes and weapons with?

The current weapons work with rifle squad upgrades. That also means this doesnt work mid-campaign until I can figure out a work-around.

UPDATE: New weapon - Psi Push. Works similar to psi lightning but will shove enemies out of cover. Does very minor psi damage.

Lightning and Push are now in a new weapon categor - psionic.. This is in preparation for more weapons that are psi based and can be equipped by classes that use this cat.

Added the firing abilities of the psi weapons as lost headshot eligible kills.

@Hottt3 I think so but I dont have 5 tier weapons, only 3. Maybe someone in the future will make an LWOTC version of this. I do not have plans to do so as I am not interested in LWOTC...

UPDATE! New weapon - Smart Rifle. Still being tested. Now my Hacker Class uses this as a primary weapon. It has its own weapon category. Will upload details here soon!

Oh, PLEASE NOTE: The Lightning / Shock weapons now use a Psi Offense to Will HIT CALCULATION!! Be aware that if you shoot at a target with much higher will than your psi stat you will have low odds of hitting them... This works reverse for robots though lol, you will probably always hit them.

Massive update!

Lightning and shock now have their own firing abilities that require 0 ammo. They apply a rupture (2 for lighting 1 for shock).

Battle Rifle has been completely reworked from the ground up. New triple shot ability (made from scratch). It should now properly show up in the armory UI. Does NOT have an aim penalty (might revisit for balance reasons).

New stats for all weapons. Removed the old passives from lightning / shock. They will no longer grant wild talent or electroshock circuits. Instead, they now apply rupture to targets struck (including if you are using abilities that use the weapon).

I think I solved the problem a bit. I used another mod to classify the psi-shock as a pistol, and set the ammo count to 99 in the config of this mod, and it was able to fire normally.

How can I attack with psi-shock? The firing ability is disabled. I tried changing the classification to pistol using a mod, but it is not possible to fire because there is no ammo.

Update: Possible fix for the crash when upgrading from magnetic to beam tier. Had a small typo in the script that I fixed.

I think you will enjoy the next update. Adding in new armors with different stats / passives that everyone can use :) The armor / icons will be from super soldiers, but they will be fully compatible together.

you can use ocwr and make some local mod entries to make the weapons to work if they can use certain categories of weapons
like rifle users can use battle rifles, snipers can use dmr, etc.
this is what i do with mods that replaces the boltcaster with their own weapon categories, so classes that can use precision rifles (sniper rifle, vektor rifle) can also use boltcasters
