B42.8 has the option extend generators in the sandbox settings, but as of 6/1 it was still not functioning vanilla.

@Rob: It's not the mod that removes the generators, but the latest update of the game. With each game update, upon launch, it creates a backup of your save.

@Marlonskiy its not a mod problem what you lost the generators. Its a PZ update problem! I do not use this MOD but with the patch i lost all my gernerators in the chunk.

@Marlonskiy: Did you relaunch the game in 42.6.0 before the mod update? Several players reported issues with 42.6.0 that reset objects and changes in bases within a chunk.

I had lost two of my generators on my map's hoiuse, when i entered in game after mod update... Therefore they was placed on layer zero, on terrain

The base file for having energy across all layers of the game is available.The files regarding the generator's radius increase are not yet updated.

I've conducted several tests. 200x200 is too intense for the game, causing significant lag due to high calculations. For 120x120, there are still minor freezes when loading a chunk, even with the generator off, as the code checks for power. I doubled it to 40x40 with no freeze, but I can't power the entire March Ridge bunker for example.

Additionally, I noticed that some objects may not function correctly when the generator is out of the player's coverage area, although they still consume energy. I need to investigate the player's coverage area in the code.

For reference, my setup is i5-13600K + 32.0G RAM + RTX 4070. The best compromise I've found is 60x60.

I've added multiple versions in the mod for you to choose from.

Caution: Make a backup of your save before patching to a large generator. You never know! I haven't encountered any bugs apart from lag, but the game doesn't seem optimized for such heavy calculations.

@Only Farms: Yes, that's possible, but your generator might run out of fuel quickly if it's powering multiple devices. I can create an additional file in the mod to increase the default radius of 20. Currently, the only way to increase this radius is by installing multiple generators. Would you still like me to extend it to 2000x2000 ?

I love how TiS patched the issue with basements and such, and yet Raixxar the Madlad updated their mod so the generators work on ALL layers. I love it.

@Sadist: You are right! I haven't tested for the bunkers. In the code, I only saw it on 3 layers above an below. For the moment, the file is no longer compatible with the latest version, so you may encounter errors or crashes. The new file uses new functions. I will check and test for the bunkers as soon as possible and propose a patched file.

Generators do work in the basements, but are limited on the negative Z axis as the positive one (3 floors).
This makes it impossible to keep the generator working if your base is in a bunker.
Keep the mod up until they add functionality to the power bar. It's useless at the moment.
