Could you supply an updated link for the patch please? - it seems to be invalid. Thanks. :)

Is this route in fact final? Scenarios cannot be posted for it yet, I do believe, so I'm curious what exists and if this 09/12/14 update is anywhere now.
LokiToots 3 Mar, 2018 @ 3:01am
do this same exact route but in 2017 and branch lines to Greenford, Heathrow, Windsor, Marlow and Henley and overhead wires for every single line because I want to use the Class 801s on the line
Martin Freeman  [author] 1 Apr, 2017 @ 5:41am
This route is based on the Paddington to Oxford route which is available on Steam.

Can you tell me which Great Western route to use please ? The one on Steam (Paddington to Oxford? )
rosgar 23 Apr, 2016 @ 5:17am
Thank you, yes very interested in both. The steam scenario we've planned is a bit of a one-off, but BR blue is our main focus.
Martin Freeman  [author] 23 Apr, 2016 @ 4:14am
Hi Rosgar - thanks...we are concentrating on the BR Blue period but I'm sure that others may be interested in producing steam era routes.

You might also be interested in our other BR Blue routes -

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=399732174 - which is an extension of this route with new track through to Swindon.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=460363395 - which is a BR Blue version of the original Liverpool to Manchester route with many scenery changes for the period.

We are currently working on adding Edge Hill to Manchester Victoria to Liv/Man ( BR Blue ) which we hope to publish in a few weeks.

Andy

A good variation for this original route, now looks far better for the Blue era. Wondering if we dare throw it back a few more years to the last years of steam?

I have added further screenshots showing progress at Swindon Station - Andy
Martin Freeman  [author] 9 Jan, 2015 @ 8:22am
I have added some screenshots which show the work that Nick has been doing at Swindon Works - please note that this is still Work In Progress.

Andy
Martin Freeman  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 1:50pm
Just to make it clear that none of the additional track and scenery in the additional screenshots will be visible yet, we will make it available as an upgrade to this Route here on the Workshop once all work has been completed.

Andy
Martin Freeman  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 1:43pm
I have added some screenshots showing the progress we have made from Didcot to Swindon - in some of the shots the track and scenery are complete, some are work in progress.

Andy
Martin Freeman  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 5:50am
Thanks for the comment ipearce1 - we are making good progress, track is laid all the way from Didcot to Swindon...signalling in process of being completed and some of the scenery has been completed.

thank you for all your time and hard work, this is fantastic and I can ot wait for my home station Swindon to have trains again!
RolandBP 10 Dec, 2014 @ 1:52am
Hi Andy, many thanks for the scenario, it was certainly much more interesting to drive with all that nice AI traffic. Roland. :train2::wagon::wagon::wagon::wagon:
Bex Reddy Scenarios 9 Dec, 2014 @ 11:27pm
with your planned extensions this will probably be a hot route!! I certainly am looking forwards to more updates from you Gents...... Thank you for all your work so far, and looks far better without the knitting :-)
Martin Freeman  [author] 9 Dec, 2014 @ 1:41pm
Hi RolandBP - try this scenario that I created for testing the Route while working on it, plenty of BR Blue AI traffic -

Andy
RolandBP 9 Dec, 2014 @ 12:14pm
Gosh the run certainly looks bare without the overhead. I know it will look great when completed with the full compliment of AI traffic and maybe more smoke that may have been around during that period. Congratulations for working on the creation of a more interesting period of railway operation.
Martin Freeman  [author] 9 Dec, 2014 @ 8:44am
The BR Blue Team has been formed ( n.e.hudson, Wotawally and myself )....we are currently working on extending my version of the GWML Route - we will be breaking new ground and extending first to Swindon and then we will decide our next direction. We are also setting this in the BR Blue Period.....we will publish updates at suitable intervals, the first will probably be a remodelling of the Didcot area to suit the BR Blue Period....all subscribers will receive updates automatically.
Martin Freeman  [author] 8 Dec, 2014 @ 1:11pm
Thanks for the information - will try to figure out how big a task it would be.

Andy
Bex Reddy Scenarios 8 Dec, 2014 @ 12:45pm
Greenford would also give Park Royal sidings too :-D I meant to add the loop reappears next to Old Common depot, theres a dead end next to the HST shed on the Slow lines, with a main aspect and right hand route indicator
Bex Reddy Scenarios 8 Dec, 2014 @ 12:42pm
Greenford Loop is still in place, its the triangle behind West Ealing they cut short. As for Padd New Yd, again its been around for years, I used to work aggregates trains in there but again its been there for donkeys years....... The unloading road was next to the entrance ramp for Westbourne Park Bus Depot
Martin Freeman  [author] 8 Dec, 2014 @ 8:19am
Hi Bexy916 - thanks for your comments - regarding Greenford Loop and Paddington New Yard....can you please let me know during which period they were in place?

thanks,

Andy
Martin Freeman  [author] 8 Dec, 2014 @ 8:18am
Just had a response from DTG Support regarding the route finalisation issue - they say that they are aware of the issue and are trying to create a fix.....but no timeframe as yet.

Andy
Bex Reddy Scenarios 7 Dec, 2014 @ 5:12pm
Hi Martin, glad the update sorted those buffer stops @ Reading...... bit of cheek, but, I was wondering if you could add the Greenford Loop & Paddington New Yard..... Ive been trying to figure it out myself to no avail, then of course 3rd rail at Reading...... Loving this route and very grateful for your hard work. Im working on scenarios which will be added to Bluecode
n.e.hudson 27 Nov, 2014 @ 1:24am
When I asked Steam support about the same problem with my Windermere Extension to WCMLoShap, they told me it was down to DTG to sort it out! This problem started with the launch of TS2015, and is apparently due to a mismatch with the interface between DTG and Steam. Scenarios can be made final, but not Routes. I, and others, have used UKTS to post scenarios, a longer process but you can use more than the default stock/assets
gptechuk 26 Nov, 2014 @ 2:00pm
Wouldn't Steam support be a more appropriate starting point?...it is a Steam feature after all, and the TS2015 Manual does state "This facility is provided by Valve Corporation through their 'Steam Workshop' and as such we cannot guarantee the ongoing availability of this service"
Peter 1949 25 Nov, 2014 @ 8:23am
You have no chance Martin I have never had any replies to any of my enquiries
Martin Freeman  [author] 24 Nov, 2014 @ 1:22pm
Hi gptechuk - glad to hear that you are enjoying the Route - I have received the required number of votes to make the Route Final, have tried but it has not worked, unfortunately there seems to be an issue with Finalisation, I know of others with the same problem and we have reported to DTG who are yet to respond - perhaps if everybody who has subscribed to the Route, and would like to see scenarios for it ( and the other Routes affected ) published here on the Workshop, dropped an email to Support asking for the problem to be fixed, they might get around to looking into it.....email address is support@railsimulator.com :-)

Andy
gptechuk 24 Nov, 2014 @ 1:13pm
Hi Martin,
thanks for clarifying that and yes, RW Tools does report about 50 instances of *missing* speed signs---no detriment to how the route runs and I appreciate how hard those empty bottles are to spot when they're at track level and often hidden by vegetation. Basically then the references can just be edited out of the Tracks.bin file as they certainly do seem to indicate the warning boards, corroborated by a quick check in the default route at the location I posted . Job sorted!! ; ) Thoroughly enjoying running some BR Blue scenarios ported over by the way!!
Martin Freeman  [author] 24 Nov, 2014 @ 8:16am
...meant to say "custom" speed signs....not customer :-)

Andy
Martin Freeman  [author] 24 Nov, 2014 @ 8:16am
Hi gptechuk - re. the speed signs, I did not create any customer speed signs....just swapped out like-for-like Ox-Padd / Bath Temp - are you able to run the Route fine but see the missing assets listed in RW_Tools? If that is the case then don't worry as I get the missing assets list too...but everything works fine.

I tried to get rid of all of the "milk Bottles" but there might be an occasional odd one left here and there....most likely where a speed warning triangle was located....these were simply removed as there was no equivalent in the BR Blue Days.

Andy
gptechuk 23 Nov, 2014 @ 4:23pm
Hi Martin
Re *odd* speed signs:
Yes, I have Bath-Temp, bring a user since the original RailSimulator days, but all the assets contained in ..\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\Speedsigns are prefixed by the corresponding routes name: eg: Bath_Temp_Single_Value_Speed_Sign.bin
The only assets that contain _L or _R are named along the lines of Oxfo_Padd_Arrow_Speed_L.bin so are the versions the route is calling for just copies of these, or copies with edited textures?
The default asset that features Double_Value_Speed_Sign is Oxfo_Padd_Double_Value_Speed_Sign.bin
I have an as supplied default copy' of the game (and TS2014, 13, 12) so I'm sure I don't have an incomplete Kuju folder.
World co-ordinates Lat 51.73860, Long -!.25904 (1.12 miles south of Oxford)features a 'milk bottle' (for me at least) so what should be there? Editing the files, signs or Tracks.bin, is easy enough but only if I've a clue as to what I should be placing there.

Peter 1949 23 Nov, 2014 @ 2:21am
OK thanks for that Martin will keep my eye out for finishing
Mark0468 22 Nov, 2014 @ 12:51pm
Made a scenario on it, great route, can't find it in QD though.
jibeh 21 Nov, 2014 @ 11:32am
Thank you for the update ! Great
Martin Freeman  [author] 21 Nov, 2014 @ 11:21am
I have just published the update, all subscribers should have received it automatically...as long as you go online to Steam - if all goes well will try to change the Route Status to Final tomorrow, then scenarios can be published.

NB. Note the link in the description to a fix for the strange chimney smoke at Earley Power Station.

Martin Freeman  [author] 21 Nov, 2014 @ 7:41am
Hi peter_swarbrick - now that I have enough "Thumbs Up" votes I can make the Route "Final", if that works then scenarios for the Route can be published here on the Workshop....I first need to successfully publish an update to fix some issues, I cannot publish any updates once the Route becomes "Final".

Andy
Martin Freeman  [author] 21 Nov, 2014 @ 7:39am
Hi Bexy916 - yes, already corrected in the update which I will hopefully publish later today.....if all works ok then you should receive an automatic update with these, and several other, corrections and improvements....I then hope to make the Route "Final" which will allow people to publish scenarios for the Route here on the Workshop.

Andy
Peter 1949 21 Nov, 2014 @ 12:05am
found it now sorry where do i get the scenarios from
Peter 1949 20 Nov, 2014 @ 11:57pm
I have subscibed to this route but cannot find it anywhere on my train sim 2015, any ideas
Bex Reddy Scenarios 20 Nov, 2014 @ 6:37pm
Hi Martin, me again........ any chance of removing the buffer stops on the goods at Reading and in the Basingstoke Popper platform (I think its Plat 1..... country end left hand side)
Martin Freeman  [author] 20 Nov, 2014 @ 3:02pm
Hi gptechuk - it depends on what you mean by default items, if you have had this Sim for a few years then you will have the Kuju Assets folder by default - one of the Routes which came as part of the original Railworks was Bath to Templecombe ( now called Somerset and Dorset Route I believe ) which is the Bath_Temp reference......the Kuju Assets are now part of the Classic European Assets pack, for people who have not had Train Simulator for long, and can be purchased from the Steam Store - nothing I can do about that unfortunately, my Route is free of charge and most people will already have the required assets....don't think that the pack is expensive though.

Andy
gptechuk 20 Nov, 2014 @ 11:08am
Can you shed some light on where
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\Speedsigns\_Left
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\Speedsigns\_Right
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\Speedsigns_Sign
Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\Speedsigns\Bath_Temp_Double_Value_Speed_Sign
originate from as they aren't default items?
Martin Freeman  [author] 19 Nov, 2014 @ 7:41am
Hi Everybody - thanks for the feedback so far, I will be publishing an update soon ( everybody who has already subscribed should receive the update automatically ) and the Thumbs Up count should not be affected. The update will improve the appearance of some of the new scenery items, will fix some legacy issues such as adding crossovers at Reading so that there is access to the bay platforms, fixing trees flying in mid-air etc.. Once the Thumbs Up count passes 30 ( currently at 25 ) I can make the Route Final so that I, and anyone else, can publish scenarios for it here on the Workshop...I will publish the update first though, as once the Route becomes Final I will not be able to make any further changes.

Thank you Andy - really well done and takes me right back to my childhood. (I was born not long after the fire at the fuel terminal at Langley and the station staff there used to frequent my parents' shop, which dates me rather badly!) Your changes offer so much more scope for really interesting and varied scenarios, plus gives us another BR Blue route that we desperately need. Thumbs up from me too.
msmith4000 17 Nov, 2014 @ 11:01am
Firstly Andy I would like to thank you for your efforts producing this work as there are not enough routes set in this era for my liking. As Br Blue is my favourite era you have my thumbs up plus I will try to release some scenarios for it too once you have reached final status.
Bex Reddy Scenarios 17 Nov, 2014 @ 9:37am
