Great mod, though!
I'm guessing re-skins of the skateboards are also possible (rollerblades, maybe Segways?)
Ideas: variants: rollerblades, segways, hoverboards (no terrain limitation). all with different speeds.
...also to cover different tech eras :P
I believe using those should be "fun" - maybe the recreation need is frozen while using it.
Or, to balance things: it gives a tiny boost in recreation BUT from time to time they fell and get bruises?
However they still stubbornly unload boards upon returning from caravan. Tried with 3 different caravans (go away for 1 tile, go back), added and readded boards into inventory, vanilla and modded materials ffrom which boards are made - they still drop em along with other stuff they gathered while moving
- Hediff instead of trait replacement. Because A) some genes add movement traits, so it might glitch; and B) Why wouldn't someone, who naturally walks/runs faster, be somewhat faster on skate? Might need to replace flat "+2.0" to a percentage, though.
- Add bonus to caravan speed. I mean, caravan speed is, most logically, capped by you slowest pawn/animal, so it shouldn't be a problem: skating gang would outpace pedestrians, but a mixed group would still crawl.
- Finally, it was told already, but still: hoverboards. Spacer+ level, ignore terrain penalty. Might need aditional, fuel-dependant, "boost" ability to cross water.

Or maybe other like RollerShoe, Scouter etc.
