A dream mod, waiting build 42 mp to test it!

Also, you can make a 'cache hunting'-game for MP if you include some geogaching (gps locations), foxhunting (radio triangulation), treasure hunts (maps) etc. options for some fun distraction during the apocalypse.

If you want to go next level;
Add 'Paintcan' Cache, to make paintcan's re-usable.
Add 'Probing stick' to hunt for hidden buried cahce's in MP.
Add 'demoisturizing bags' to cache's to act as food preservers and durability preservers for weapons (i.e. moisture in the gorund, condensation etc. will cause deterioration of the contents of a cache. The demoisurizers are simlar to those balls in bags you find in shoeboxes etc.)

Great points and it aligns with my vision. Players can figure out clever ways to mark their caches, if they wish. All part of playing smart.

guys take 2 logs place them on the ground, make an "X" out them. or use other stuff in the world to use as makers. its not that hard to be creative lol. I love that theres no graphic and would prefer it stay that way for when B42 goes stable into MP.

@anitachall
No graphic. I considered it but I decided to go without. I do agree it can make it difficult to find but I felt like that way immersive and so I stuck with it.

Is there a graphic for the cache in game? I know the point is for the cache to be hidden, but I feel like there might be some challenge in finding your cache even if you've marked it on your map. A subtle graphic might help you find your own cache, but keep it mostly hidden from people who don't know where it is.

It might not be the issue to be fair, but that's what it looks like to me. Like I said I tested it quite a bit and the only issue I had was with an existing save, so if that's not the problem then I don't know what the problem is.
Nod for Big Naturals  [author] 6 Feb @ 10:24am
Hmm, interesting. I'm not sure how to solve that, I'm pretty new to all of this, but I'll do some research and see if I can come up with something. Thanks for pointing that out!

It's a good mod and I like it, I just really don't wanna have to start a new game.
Bacon Statham 6 Feb @ 10:05am
I've tested it and I think I've found the problem. I went through my mods list and deactivated all of them, I kept this mod active, I then started a new save file starting in December and activated each mod in increments of five until I reached the end. I had zero issues getting the option to bury a cache. I went back onto my main save file and I didn't have the option to bury a cache. I think the issue is that you can't bury a cache on an existing save file, it has to be new. It wasn't clashing with any of my other mods on the new save file. I didn't test my main save file because I didn't want to break it, but I think that's the issue.

Without more to go off of, I'm not sure I can be much more help. I haven't seen anyone else reporting that happening and I can't recreate your issue on my side. :(

Yeah, I'm on B42 and no errors that I can see.
Nod for Big Naturals  [author] 5 Feb @ 6:38pm
@bacon Statham
It shouldn't have any effect on that. Are you getting any errors? Also, I developed this for B42 and didn't test in B41 at all. Are you playing on B42?
Bacon Statham 5 Feb @ 5:51pm
I'm not getting the option to bury a cache. I've got a tarp and a shovel, and I'm outside in the forest, just not getting the option to bury. It is winter at the moment and snowing, does that affect it or can you bury it during all seasons?

@secondmass4
It is equivalent to a crate.
