jamcarmody 8. maj kl. 9:22
Hmm, well, seeing as he did make it and then post it free; that's already ruled out; @Cabbit... but that *is* the discernment of the developer.

Hi, i have a idea for good Mod for HOI4. That i think, you could do. And it's easy. Can i speak with you on private chat? (Texting i mean, not Voicechat)
Cabbit 6. maj kl. 0:31
Wouldn't been better if it wasn't free. Consider removing this from the workshop and selling for $25 on Patreon. Consider this a warning

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning! Once there was a little boy called Joey, he was ten-years-old and he lived in a mental hospital because he posted a crappy copypasta onto a People Playground mod's comment section . He got so bad he went to kill all the staff in the hospital so the Feds decided that best idea was to get rid of him so they set up a special room to kill him, as inhumane as possible. And he sat there in agony for hours until he died. Now every week on the day of his death he returns to the person that reads this letter, on a monday night at 12:00 a.m. He creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by pegging you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other profiles on this one site, and he will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently if u copy and paste this to ten comments in the next ten minutes nothing will happen: sorry man i am not taking the risk

Light tanks would make mincemeat of horses. They are mobile MG positions, a hard counter to cavalry. The cavalry unit would need to be equipped with anti-tank weapons and fight dismounted.

USSR, having had bad road grids, especially then, be it due to weather, climate, government policies, culture, or a mix of any and all of the above, had a dearth of vehicles, but they were primarily agrarian, so they had a lot of access to horses.
jamcarmody 20. apr. kl. 9:42
Arguably @henri; it would be a form of simply armored horse-mounted troops, yet those'd largely been phased out of feasible military services.
Weirdest thing is; cavalry troops served as very capable anti-partisan forces even at the height of the cold war- they'd become sort of useless on the battlefield by the end of what's basically (and somewhat erroneously) seen as WW1, but even in the height of WW2 there were such mounted attacks, especially during the conflict on the European Eastern Front resumed about 1941 AD or thereabouts... course, therein the Nazis were really fuel-short, for the foreseeable future, until they could obtain, harvest and secure, as well as develop and repair the oil fields they planned to gain from "Comrade" Stalin, and his forces were *really* kind of fighting for their very survival; and in such a case: you really *will* use anything at hand.

it all started with the purely cosmetic 2006 Horse armor in Elder Scrolls and now we have it coming full circle as a free DLC
jamcarmody 9. apr. kl. 8:41
All this put together means that their state never really invested in logistical development for a long time, let alone the weather and climate: frost heaves are a happenstance that tends to occur with hard-surface roads; and therein it is way worse, or going to be.
Put those together, combined with the spaced out placement of their farms, and you see why they really had poor quality logistics.
Now the Germans in WW2 truly rolled back their logistical systems and technology for the eastern theaters- this was deliberate: they needed to conserve gas and oil to make gas until they'd gotten their hands on the sources in Southern USSR, until then, and they could develop it, they'd be using more primitive means of logistics.
jamcarmody 9. apr. kl. 8:41
There's also elements of Russian culture, especially in WW2, as far as how come they didn't go for developing the lands: in the "Bolshavic days" the average Russian was no longer a mere *surf* of his local landlord, oh, their society was basically feudal in nature, but in *those* days, they'd gone *down* at least one step on the social latter: they were in fact *slaves of the state*, which was profoundly more abusive.
jamcarmody 9. apr. kl. 8:35
Well, think back to how come Russia's got bad road networks: they have a low general population density, they've got the population, but by and large, it is about as densely populated as Nabraska if you remove the main cities therein from the equation.
Now you figure that horses have always if not often been the most prone to panic when under fire, especially from the *air*; and that means that horsedrawn logistics tended to fall completely apart if under ground attack aircraft... to a horse, such a thing would be a gigantic bird that breaths *fire* (resemble anything typical of mythologies? Yes, a "dragon" would fit the category quite nicely!), and to boot, horses have deep in their genetic memory a recognition that gigantic predatory birds hunted *them specifically*, so of course they're going to be jittery.
jamcarmody 9. apr. kl. 8:31
All that put together means that their opponents couldn't send in mechanized logistics, but they typically did send in horse-drawn logistics, which're slower, and prone to panic if attacked from the air. To the horses a ground attack aircraft amounts to a bird that shoots fire, with predictable chaos ensuing. Plus deep in their genetic memory there're gigantic predatory birds that hunted *them specifically*; that memory may well have come out to play havoc with armed forces time and again!

I don't know about that here, @Glad!, but I do agree that chocolate cake is a much better idea, in almost all ways, compared to the effects of wizardry; as the latter of those does tend to make the users *cuckoo*; just analyze what Herr Himmler and his buddies developed as far as strange ideas and you'll see.

Craziest thing about the facilities mentioned imaginable is that say what you will of what Franco allowed his men to do in terms of running amok, he himself was a very devout member of a religion that's profoundly *anti-occult* in all areas; this'd make for really interesting affairs indeed!
jamcarmody 9. mar. kl. 11:43
@Babykicker;
Maybe, or if it does, it's only going to go as far as say the mysticism in say "Star Wars" would logically go.
Arguably, it stands to reason that the exploration of these things, indirectly of course, shows you what the SS were all mixed up in; and how badly they went off the rails.
That is, after all, the proper role of that element in history.
Though, oddly enough, if you want the completely weirdly crazy, there's an oddly truthful remark by a liar at the Yalta Conference, where he, as the USSR's head of their whole *country* at the time let slip just what was really running the show- and he was specific: it was not him, nor was it a human being at all, but it is a seraphim-gone-bad; weird thing is that Winston had mentioned that had Herr Hitler chosen to invade Hell, he'd sent assistance to the dictator of *that* evil dimension... dumb decision on multiple fronts, Churchill!
Babykicker 3. mar. kl. 19:26
Thank you Todd Howard, I'm sure this will have no lasting effects on the gaming industry.
jamcarmody 3. mar. kl. 14:39
@the Lord Drake; I don't know much about those games, I've heard good potential exists therein, if odd enough.
Oh, and in reference to things like St. Jude hospital, it is very wise indeed to very thoroughly vet one's charities one donates to; as often as not, the beings that men like Herr Himmler of the SS sold themselves to, on the cheap no less, really are quite a lot like organized crime in how they operate: so the common sense mechanism is to boycott them, and to hold the authorities fully accountable for any funding of antilife policies, especially holding them accountable if they didn't know- as they had no reason nor any freedom to *not* know what those agencies they were managing were sending the funding to, as in *criminally* culpable for ignorance, especially when they didn't or couldn't realize that they'd be held criminally culpable for any misdeeds!
The Lord Drake 3. mar. kl. 10:14
@dog Dark Souls? Do you mean Oblivion?

jamcarmody 2. mar. kl. 21:54
The Spanish forces, especially of Franco, would wipe out the occult facilities immediately, no way would *he* tolerate that kind of nonsense- yet Herr Himmler was *really* into wizardry!
I really do mean it; he's a wizard (Himmler I mean), and the Nazis really did engage in spell-casting, especially the SS; that's NOT something you'd be necessarily aware of- so they'd do completely cuckoo things and make the craziest of choices- due to the stuff it would be feeding him idea-wise.
jamcarmody 2. mar. kl. 21:54
Weirder still includes the events confirmed in those days at Yalta conference by "Koba" though he was then known by the pseudonym of "Stalin", and who/what was running the affairs not only in the entire Eastern Bloc, but also ran the Nazis *and* the Imperial Japanese; and that's NOT any human being that was running those factions.
One of the sources is an individual who made said person's way *out* of the shadow of the Eastern Bloc, Bella Dodd, she let slip that the head of these factions was really a seraphim-gone-bad; and that thing's a NIGHTMARE in its agendas!
jamcarmody 2. mar. kl. 21:53
Though, think about it: the SS were really the only faction that had "occult facilities", their "churches"; and the weirdest thing about that is that like the Aztecs of the oh, 16th Century AD as it turns out; they oftentimes wound up under the protection of the same group as the Spaniards primary creed, just the same with the Inquisition's days.
In fact, one of the weirdest things that happened in about the 16th Century AD was summarized in the historical video on youtube "Ottomans vs Aztecs", you'd think that the Ottomans sent a Janissary invasion of the Aztec empire, yet it was the reverse direction: some Spaniard official decided to recruit Aztecs to fight the Ottoman Turks *on their own homeland*; the oddest thing is the creeds of the soldiers, or former ones... and the fact is that the Ottoman Janissaries were of the same general creed and faith as the Spaniards!

its a good mod but there is a small graphically glitch that causes a white square to flicker when the unit is moving or fighting
jamcarmody 2. mar. kl. 9:04
"Will be added to occult facilities"... the Spaniards would NOT take to that well, especially *then*, as "occult" means "wizards" as in the SS "religious rituals", those kinds of behaviors are *specifically* forbidden, especially in Spanish belief systems of that day and age the game's set in... added to that: the Spanish Marxists, the "Republican forces" in the Spanish Civil War; those guys were even *more* opposed to that.
Their term for anybody of the old faiths really *does* amount to "occultist"., and they used it as a condemning insult.
Very interesting terminology at that.
