@President Jason
An .ini file in this mod's folder, you can edit it in a text editor
https://old.reddit.com/r/xcom2mods/wiki/wotc_modding/mod_folder
President Jason 13 Jul @ 10:14pm
What is that?
Soul 13 Jul @ 7:11pm
You can tho,its in SoldierLifeEventsExpansion.ini
President Jason 13 Jul @ 7:09pm
I wish you could turn up the frequency of these because they pop up so rarely
AgRipnus  [author] 9 Jul @ 11:08pm
Yes, that's Complex Bonds again.
President Jason 9 Jul @ 7:51pm
Can I choose which solider have romantic relationships and with whom?
Funsam11 7 Jul @ 10:23am
Thank you
SongsOfAgony 7 Jul @ 8:08am
got it! thankyou!
AgRipnus  [author] 7 Jul @ 7:06am
Yes that's what my Complex Soldier Bonds Add-on does. You toggle it from the Soldier Bonds menu in the Armory.
SongsOfAgony 7 Jul @ 7:03am
Are we able to set soldiers with predetermined relationships? like if I have a pair of siblings in my group?
AgRipnus  [author] 6 Jul @ 9:08pm
It's fine to add mid game as long as you also have complex bonds.
Funsam11 6 Jul @ 7:53pm
Hello is this mod okay to add mid-game or do I need to start a new game to use this mod?
AgRipnus  [author] 4 Jul @ 2:42pm
Should be fixed with today's update.
Ghosty_TH 3 Jul @ 8:58pm
There seems to be a weird bug related to the relationship stuff. I ticked a pair of bonded soldiers as "Close Friends", but sometimes I get Rivalry events. Kinda weird.

Can you look into the issue when you have the chance?
AgRipnus  [author] 26 Jun @ 9:54am
Yes, people who are busy won't be chosen for events but that should not lower the frequency as long as there are 2 people of any relationship available. The lower frequency in the early game is because all your soldiers that are sitting around are rookies and rookies are never chosen.
Agent_Hawaiian 26 Jun @ 9:30am
I know this has LWOTC compatibility, but how do the events work with unit infiltrations? Do infiltrations prevent them from being associated with events? I always send several squads in early game, so is that the cause for the low frequency of events or should I just up the frequency in the ini (it's 7 right now)?
theskittlesmanyo 18 Jun @ 6:16pm
Well I disabled the text that shows what rewards you get before you choose an answer, because I was trying to make it more of risk/reward type of thing. I just figured not knowing if your choice is going to reward or penalize you might make things a little more dramatic.
AgRipnus  [author] 18 Jun @ 2:21pm
@Misterdino Prime The mod is compatible with LWOTC. People bring up suggestions of events that happen in tactical that can shape soldier bonds in strategy. That would be really cool, but I am not at the level yet, to make it. My experience with tactical event listeners is very limited. I hope one day I know enough about the tactical side of the code to make it.
AgRipnus  [author] 18 Jun @ 2:18pm
You can't, I did not include code for negative values of rewards Thinking that nobody would ever click an option that takes things away, when another option gives even a useless item. And I didn't want to punish the user for engaging with my complex bonds mod, after manually setting individual soldier relationships. Are you trying to make an event that has all 3 option be bad?
theskittlesmanyo 18 Jun @ 1:46pm
How would I go about changing the config to remove items instead of giving them?
Loving your work!
Misterdino Prime 18 Jun @ 4:46am
and the another one, is this mod compatible with lwoct?
Misterdino Prime 18 Jun @ 4:46am
two questions, you have plans to make a auto bonds? like, a soldier recues a other, the become friends or something like that?
Regnart Seht 14 Jun @ 7:38am
This is very interesting. Thanks!
AgRipnus  [author] 13 Jun @ 5:43am
Do you have the Complex Bonds Add on? It's a dependency for this mod, check the required items on the right panel of this page.
ScriptGenius12 13 Jun @ 5:21am
Wait how do I mark people as family?
AgRipnus  [author] 12 Jun @ 10:32pm
The mod won't automatically detect matching surnames to mark them as family. To start seeing family events you must mark family related people yourself in the soldier bonds menu.
ScriptGenius12 12 Jun @ 2:17pm
do characters having same last name's affect it?
AgRipnus  [author] 27 May @ 10:20pm
They do
david.kahil1 27 May @ 5:33pm
do these work with LWOTC, i would love to add them, i dont see why they wouldnt
NSFW Gamer 25 May @ 6:29pm
Just found your mods and can't wait to try them. I've always loved seeing the crew doing stuff on the Avenger and wanted there to be more relationship stuff. The idea of only ever bonding and learning teamwork with a single person always felt unnatural to me. You go out with the same 5 people and risk your life, you should start to develop some kind of relationship
saximaphone 21 May @ 4:35pm
How long until we get Fire Emblem style unit breeding? :P
I have a few ideas of how it could be implemented honestly.
bigwormfire 20 May @ 10:54am
i bet goodluck man thanks for the mod.
AgRipnus  [author] 20 May @ 10:52am
If 2 soldiers are bonded you can only change their relationship with the console command given in the Complex Bonds mod. I've made several attempts to add buttons to the bondmate area but none have been successful so far. It's harder to fix than it looks.
bigwormfire 20 May @ 12:11am
So if the two soldiers are already bond, the only why to get them select their relationship is have them together in after mission briefing.
Soul 15 May @ 11:56am
tbh when you have Savant type soldiers you gain as much easily
Fearless Leader 14 May @ 6:08pm
I received an option to give 20 AP to one of two soldiers or to Xcom. That feels extremely overpowered.
AgRipnus  [author] 28 Apr @ 10:23pm
Events trigger on the map as you do other stuff.
RyanEX2000 28 Apr @ 3:46pm
This sounds like fun but how does it work exactly? Do you get random events if the two you link are in the same mission or does it occur during a bonding event?
AgRipnus  [author] 28 Apr @ 3:33pm
The original picks random soldiers and the rewards are stat buffs, this pick soldiers from the relationships you set up and the rewards are items, ap, promotions or resources. With both you get an additional event for about every 2 base events as long as there are soldiers.
ThePhantomX64 28 Apr @ 2:53pm
What is the diffrence with this and original Slice of XCOM mod? and how does it work with both on?
AgRipnus  [author] 27 Apr @ 8:54am
Lootboxes are items, so this mod supports them. It doesn't give out lootboxes by default because not everyone has that mod. Someone must edit the .ini and swap out some of the default rewards for lootboxes or other modded items and then share it. It doesn't need any scripting or a different version of the mod.
ELDEPREDADOR55 27 Apr @ 7:40am
The mod is very interesting and well, it would be better if it could be used with the WOTC Grimy's Loot Mod. Is there a way to make it work?
AgRipnus  [author] 27 Apr @ 6:32am
I don't speak any of the other languages XCOM2 supports, but anyone is free to do it.
ivan727k 26 Apr @ 7:56pm
Exactly the thing I need, perfect mod for campaign
Considered to translate it into other languages? We really need Simplified Chinese translation
Soul 26 Apr @ 12:09pm
Read the previous comments man,yes you can
TK421 26 Apr @ 12:06pm
Can this be installed mid-game?
AgRipnus  [author] 26 Apr @ 5:26am
You can get just this one, or just the other one or both. Both means more events.
Yighaman 26 Apr @ 5:07am
does this replace the original mod or is it an add-on?
AgRipnus  [author] 25 Apr @ 11:55pm
You can do that by opening SoldierLifeEventsExpansion.int with notepad -> Replace DescString with DescStringOff -> Save the file.
