Yes, I want to shoot civilians. I mean zombies. Zombies that run away from you but also resemble humans.
kurochama 11 May @ 1:42am
Basically that's like the gunshot attracts horde, but in reverse version then :steamhappy:
Geebanger0  [author] 11 May @ 1:35am
so its just... No Russian but in L4D2?
gelgoog 11 May @ 1:11am
Geebanger0, you are my best best friend in the whole wide world. I have an idea. What if the common infected were scripted to run away from you instead of running at you when provoked? Make all of the common infected act like real people running away from crazed gunmen. If you do this, I will put human textures on all the zombies, and my urges will be put to rest at last. Geebanger0, you know who I am. We're best friends. Do this for me.

@Geebanger0 , some few tricks that might help you find some clues to spawn custom ammo piles:
1. On "round_start", spawn a new "weapon_ammo_spawn" to replace the existing ammo by using "FindByClassname" with "RandomInt" check to randomize the results.
2. On the weapon spawn table, add:
model = ".../ammomodel.mdl"
3. Change the model to suit the ammo type (examples: change it to deployed incendiary ammo model)
4. On "player_use", on the entity that player uses, check if the entity is ammo pile, & if the model name matches the custom ammo model you put on the spawn table.
5. If the model matches, trigger an upgrade & at the same time remove it.

I ever used this trick to spawn a custom ammo piles with gnome skin, to make it look funny to see a little guy giving ammo :steamhappy:
Kouga 3 May @ 9:31pm
ill do just that
Geebanger0  [author] 3 May @ 8:41pm
I think there's some existing mods that replace ammo piles with upgrades, if you can find one of those you might be able to ask the creator if they could modify it to suit your new idea
Kouga 3 May @ 8:07pm
@Geebanger0 gotcha, all good. do you know anyone who might?
Geebanger0  [author] 3 May @ 8:04pm
@Kouga it probably is possible, but I don't have experience with those sorts of functions so I wouldnt be able to do it
Cooldeacon2024 3 May @ 3:55pm
the way nick looked at ellis in that looked like betrayal
Kouga 3 May @ 10:30am
and maybe as an addition to that, some ammo piles around the map could be replaced with temporary, static upgrade ammo piles (not ammo packs), incendiary or explosive. pressing E with an empty ammo pack would deplete the ammo pile and it will be removed.
Kouga 3 May @ 10:23am
@Geebanger0 I thought of a mod request. is it possible to make one where upgrade packs can be refillable? heres how im thinking it works.

you pick up an upgrade pack, incendiary or explosive, and you deploy it. once it runs out of uses the item stays deployed, but is empty and can be picked up again. from there, if a survivor finds an ammo pile, they can press E to refill the upgrade pack and take some spare refills for the journey. this could give a new use to the ammo packs aside from just making them infinitely deployable.

what do you think?

Hi hold friend, long time no see, keep up with the awesome mods :)
@Geebanger0 Okay, there are just two, and these mods are:
1- Carry Slot T3 Weapons
2- Witch Screams Stagger Survivors
I'll leave my corresponding comments on each of these two mods, and thank you very much again :)
Geebanger0  [author] 2 May @ 8:47pm
yes, post the questions on each mod so i can keep track of which is which
@Geebanger0 The last time I played, I remember having a mod that fulfilled that function, and well... I stopped playing years ago, and I'm getting back to it.
Maybe they implemented it in one of the game's updates because, at the time I played it, that feature, like you say it's available now, wasn't there at the time I played L4D2 😅
I appreciate your help and clearing things up for me :)

By the way, I was checking out the mods you've uploaded for L4D2 (I hope this doesn't cause you any problems), and there are 7 that caught my attention :D
But I have 3 questions about 3 of your mods.
Is it possible you could help me?
Geebanger0  [author] 2 May @ 8:31pm
yes its a base game feature
@Geebanger0 Ohhh! So I don't need a mod to have weapons and items placed on the characters' backs and waists since they already do it by default without the need for a mod? :0
Geebanger0  [author] 2 May @ 8:20pm
@Колоссальный вет it does this by default. Any item or weapon you aren't using will be attached to your character model on your back or waist. Unless you are asking for a mod to give an item to another survivor, like how you can give other survivors pain pills
@Geebanger0 Oh! I see :(
I was asking because I remember using a mod that allowed you to place weapons on your back when you weren't using them or had another weapon or item in your hand, and it was placed on the backs of the survivors, including items and throwing weapons, and these were placed on the waists of the survivors.
Do you know if there is a mod like that in the workshop? Because as far as I know, it's not possible to do so normally. Or well... I haven't played Left 4 Dead 2 in years, and I don't remember if it was possible or not.
I don't know if you can help me.
It looked something like the images of this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2477857159
Geebanger0  [author] 2 May @ 8:04pm
@Колоссальный вет that's not a mod. He had no ammo in the M4, so he switched to his pistols. When I shoved him, he gained ammo, so he switched back and reloaded.
@Geebanger0 Excuse me, I have a question.
According to the presentation image of your mod, how was it possible that you made Nick carry the M4 on his back?
Could you please tell me what mod you used for that?
Geebanger0  [author] 1 May @ 4:30pm
also you can hold reload with a shotgun and keep shoving them to feed them ammo
Geebanger0  [author] 1 May @ 4:30pm
yeah youd mostly want to be giving them a full clip anyway. It would only make a difference for when you only have half a clip and no reserve ammo, but youre probably not giving it away then
kurochama 1 May @ 3:31pm
The shoved survivor would be just like, "Hey dude, why did you shove me all of sudden?" :steamhappy:
Geebanger0  [author] 1 May @ 3:21pm
at least in that case, they dont lose anything
kurochama 1 May @ 3:14pm
@Geebanger0 , probably the safer key would be E (Use), or Ctrl just like your healing prevention mod. Reload key is used for reloading a gun, so people might accidentally reload their gun when trying to give a used ammo clip, & that would result in giving 0 ammo clip to other survivor.
Geebanger0  [author] 1 May @ 2:20pm
I have updated the mod. You now need to hold Reload while shoving. This prevents accidentally sharing ammo. Everything else about the script is the same
Geebanger0  [author] 1 May @ 2:12pm
im going to change this and add an extra feature because i tested it and kept accidentally giving people ammo. I'll make it so you have to hold reload when you do it
Kouga 1 May @ 9:39am
on paper this works so well in tandem with the depleting ammo + single pickup guns mod. just a nice reflavoring of the game's mechanics
Kouga 1 May @ 9:36am
youve outdone yourself again @Geebanger0 !!
kurochama 1 May @ 6:12am
@Geebanger0 , at first I thought that it might need the same mechanisms as those on Counter Strike to only share ammo with guns with same bullet type (examples: Glock shares ammo with mp5, usp 45 shares with ump 45 smg), so I thought of the complicated ways to do it. But after looking at your scripts, as you didn't restrict the ammo numbering there, it looks like it's possible to specify certain guns with different numbers to make them only share ammo with same guns simply by changing the values of certain guns to some unused numbers. For examples for unused numbers:
ak47 = 11
scar = 12
sg552= 13
That way, m16 can't share ammo with ak47, & other rifles can't either. & for those who are familiar with guns & know which guns share the same bullets, they can use this trick, to make it as realistic as that on Counter Strike & other fps games that have gun that can share reserve ammo as long as they have same types of bullet.
Geebanger0  [author] 30 Apr @ 12:28pm
@kurochama you can get that effect by giving every weapon a different ammo type in the ems file, it’s a very easy change
Zaden 30 Apr @ 11:41am
That's actually a really cool idea xD
kurochama 30 Apr @ 5:10am
@zatty , on L4D2, it's only categorized as assault rifle ammo, with only the damage as the difference. Normally it should be possible to limit the ammo sharing only to same weapons to make it more realistic, but that might take a lot more efforts to modify the vscript.
Geebanger0  [author] 30 Apr @ 4:17am
@zatty every weapon you listed uses AMMO_TYPE_ASSAULTRIFLE. I based the mod on the in game ammo types, not the real world equivalents.

Also, you can just change it with the ems file
zatty 30 Apr @ 4:09am
Nice idea mod, but ak47 uses different ammo from other rifle like m4a1, scar and sg552.
kurochama 30 Apr @ 3:29am
This is useful to give ammo to bots that often waste ammo & empty their guns too early, & also in custom maps that have navigation problems on ammo piles where bots refuse to pick ammo :steamhappy:
Tac_L1bra 30 Apr @ 2:03am
Yo this is useful for some little realism stuff
