1. On "round_start", spawn a new "weapon_ammo_spawn" to replace the existing ammo by using "FindByClassname" with "RandomInt" check to randomize the results.
2. On the weapon spawn table, add:
model = ".../ammomodel.mdl"
3. Change the model to suit the ammo type (examples: change it to deployed incendiary ammo model)
4. On "player_use", on the entity that player uses, check if the entity is ammo pile, & if the model name matches the custom ammo model you put on the spawn table.
5. If the model matches, trigger an upgrade & at the same time remove it.
I ever used this trick to spawn a custom ammo piles with gnome skin, to make it look funny to see a little guy giving ammo
you pick up an upgrade pack, incendiary or explosive, and you deploy it. once it runs out of uses the item stays deployed, but is empty and can be picked up again. from there, if a survivor finds an ammo pile, they can press E to refill the upgrade pack and take some spare refills for the journey. this could give a new use to the ammo packs aside from just making them infinitely deployable.
what do you think?
1- Carry Slot T3 Weapons
2- Witch Screams Stagger Survivors
I'll leave my corresponding comments on each of these two mods, and thank you very much again :)
Maybe they implemented it in one of the game's updates because, at the time I played it, that feature, like you say it's available now, wasn't there at the time I played L4D2 😅
I appreciate your help and clearing things up for me :)
By the way, I was checking out the mods you've uploaded for L4D2 (I hope this doesn't cause you any problems), and there are 7 that caught my attention :D
But I have 3 questions about 3 of your mods.
Is it possible you could help me?
I was asking because I remember using a mod that allowed you to place weapons on your back when you weren't using them or had another weapon or item in your hand, and it was placed on the backs of the survivors, including items and throwing weapons, and these were placed on the waists of the survivors.
Do you know if there is a mod like that in the workshop? Because as far as I know, it's not possible to do so normally. Or well... I haven't played Left 4 Dead 2 in years, and I don't remember if it was possible or not.
I don't know if you can help me.
It looked something like the images of this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2477857159
According to the presentation image of your mod, how was it possible that you made Nick carry the M4 on his back?
Could you please tell me what mod you used for that?
ak47 = 11
scar = 12
sg552= 13
That way, m16 can't share ammo with ak47, & other rifles can't either. & for those who are familiar with guns & know which guns share the same bullets, they can use this trick, to make it as realistic as that on Counter Strike & other fps games that have gun that can share reserve ammo as long as they have same types of bullet.
Also, you can just change it with the ems file
