Shame the lightwarps are gone, I actually really liked them because it puts them to "basically indistinguishable from l4d2" quality.

honestly I think either way you look at em, the refined series are wayy better than the vanilla ones by a longshot.

Saying these suck is a bit extreme imo, since I think stuff like the diffuse textures are pretty nice (Louis and Bill especially benefiting from the added detail on them)

But Despair does raise a good point on the normal maps looking kinda crunchy here and there, plus I'd also suggest trying to see how these all look with just half lambert at 0 instead of trying to replicate the effect with lightwarps

@Despair you can be honest and polite. For example:

"The mod would be better off without the lightwarps, as it looks quite bad. The normal mapping is rather extreme, especially on the faces. Normal maps are very sensitive, and they look best when not going overboard. You need to be diligent in checking your work outside of HLMV, as the lighting environment is not the same as the game. You should also add some in-game screenshots."

I personally like these mods and they are decent for what they are but come on now despair you didn't need to come at him like that dude was legitimately trying his best with the knowledge he does have to make he wanted to make. it's not perfect by any means but it's not bad either and im sure he will continue to improve just like how all modders have started out. In my opinion they dont look bad i liked the adjustments and refinements of the survivors. The lightwarp i have to admit was a bit much maybe use those lightwarps for the heads and disable lightwarping for the bodies but other then that it looks good in my opinion especially the normal maps.

I don't think you have any understanding of the application of halflambert for you to be saying what you are saying in the description.
You're talking about trying to match the L4D2 style, like what are you even on about none of the L4D2 characters look anything like this.

How did you even make these normals? Did you google "generate normal map online"?Did you save them in 256x256 and stretch it back up with nearest neighbour sampling?
I could understand if you wanted to add detail to the body textures I suppose, but even then I think you've gone overboard, probably to justify these mods even existing but the default textures are already perfect.

The faces are the most busted, like did you test the mods at all?
The super curated screenshots are so disingenuous, as soon as you leave HLMV it's over.

my one complaint about all of these mods currently is that the lightwrap is a little bit too intense, it reminds me a bit of early TF2 with how strong the shadows are, the effect could be reduced a little.
