@kirb you might want to check the bandcamp to hear the exclusive "Mechhive" track if you think Omnipresent goes hard. :p

10/10 chief. Nice work.
Dysphorid  [author] 25 Jun @ 2:16am
You'll probably enjoy the more polished version that I just uploaded a few minutes before this post was made! This one tempts me to add it to the mod and not an exclusive (for higher quality). @Dan-geon Master
Dan-geon Master 24 Jun @ 7:01pm
Yeah it was so good honestly that's what got me to go grab it xD I kept having to go restart it on YT.
Dysphorid  [author] 24 Jun @ 11:39am
I honestly want to continue cleaning up that WFTS cover a bit more and reupload it at some point. I don't know if I will add any vocal tracks to this mod though... I'd treat them more as bonus tracks for supporting the project on bandcamp. :)
Dan-geon Master 24 Jun @ 8:27am
Now the real question .... can ... we get .... Waiting for the Sun 2025 as a replacer.... I might actually try to see the credits every game were that the case. haha
condottiere 24 Jun @ 4:12am
Gotcha! I'm not sure if I would have ever figured out that quirk of MM. XD
Dysphorid  [author] 23 Jun @ 2:31pm
@condottiere - I installed Music Manager to also test. All songs play normally as intended. I'll go back to my DAW to add some tails for a couple tracks so the ending isn't as jarring. After testing with that mod, as soon as you skim forward, for my mod at least... and P-Music, it resets the track but keeps the duration of the song to where you selected.

This means that the song will be cut off before it is finished playing if you skim forward in MM.
Dysphorid  [author] 23 Jun @ 1:53pm
Ah, it seems that I forgot to remove the war conditions to the Celestial album when I copied over one of the Voyager songs as a template. That will be fixed ASAP.
Dysphorid  [author] 23 Jun @ 1:47pm
I'm going to check right now and listen through some of them to see if they are cut off. Biotech has a duration of 4:02 so that was fine. The other two I will go through to see at the moment..
condottiere 23 Jun @ 12:33pm
Writing the previous comment really started to bug me, so I went through all your tracks in Music Manager to check the last 5-10 seconds of each track. All 24 tracks get cut off prematurely. I'll have to reload without Music Manager or any other music mods to see if that changes. Incidentally, I felt like I was listing your entire tracklist as my favorites, but some top ones right now are: Pawn, Biotech, Voyager, Tranquility, Sanguine, Stargazer, Contemplation, Lemniscate + B side, and Caravan remix.
condottiere 23 Jun @ 12:21pm
I'm loving your music collection. It's right up there with Actually Vanilla Music for my new top two favorite RW music mods, though for different reasons.

Many of your songs seem to abruptly cut off. Biotech at 4:02, Tranquility and Lemniscate B side at 3:15, etc. I'm using Music Manager (continued) as of yesterday, which is why I can see track lengths, but I remember some of my favorite tracks also abruptly cutting off before I loaded Music Mgr. Bums me out b/c I'll be grooving to some awesome track and then it cuts out without even a record scratch sfx. :(

Also, almost all your song tracks are tagged for War, not Peace conditions. I'm still in the middle of methodically listening to every track, but e.g. Outlander and Tranquility don't strike me as War tracks at all.
Dysphorid  [author] 22 Jun @ 11:10pm
@Rocky - Not as of now. If there is enough support for it to be on it, I will consider it!
Rocky 22 Jun @ 10:47pm
Is the playlist up on Spotify?
Zephyr 21 Jun @ 7:56pm
My thought process upon finding this mod:

D-music? wonder what game it's porting from... {click!}

Oh, fan made? and doesn't override anything, nice.... wonder what genre, what it sounds like...

[finds youtube link] oh, here we go!.... Oooh, nice!

IceMaverick 19 Jun @ 8:48pm
Yeah, the game is an RTS, so the music has to be this weird semi-intense level where it feels good to build a base to and slap down a bunch of buildings, but also if combat breaks out suddenly it's got enough energy to be the backing track for it without feeling too out of place.

I think it's a hard genre to write for because of that, but thankfully Rimworld kinda solves this by letting you define what moods a track is allowed to play in, so you can have your low-intensity and high-intensity songs and not feel out of place.
Dysphorid  [author] 19 Jun @ 8:41pm
Oh wow. Yeah, this terran ost - looking at 05 right now, is almost exactly what I'm trying to do here. It does seem more high energy though, but its structure is near mirrored.
IceMaverick 19 Jun @ 8:41pm
But yeah, I just want to close out and say that, personally, I think it's a *good* thing that I get the same thoughts and feelings as the SC2 Terran themes when I listen to your album reel. Those tracks are some perfect head-nodding tunes to build-base and fight-dude to, and that's basically what you do in Rimworld, so that means these tracks are bang-on target for being a welcome addition to the music player.
IceMaverick 19 Jun @ 8:34pm
Yeah, there's a lot of music in Starcraft that is nothing like what you've written, so if you pick any like 6 songs at random, you'd be wondering what the hell people are talking about. They touch a lot of genres across all of the OSTs.

But I think people are specifically linking them to the tracks in SC2: Wings of Liberty titled "Terran 01" through "Terran 05" (which is their internal game-file names, and not what you'd find on any official product).
IceMaverick 19 Jun @ 8:30pm
And you'll have to depart from the OST and probably find an Youtube video of it because they never officially released it, but "Starcraft II - Terran Theme 05" is probably another big one that fits the same "feel" here. And I think evoking 3 of the Terran themes from memory is enough for people to make the comparison.
Dysphorid  [author] 19 Jun @ 8:30pm
@IceMaverick - just checked that one. Didn't hear this OST yet but will give it a go. Yeah, I'm seeing it now 100% after the 3:45 minute mark. It dies after the 5 minute mark but it was similar enough where I'll agree that it sounds like it. I'm writing as I'm still listening and all I can say is this song is PEAK.
IceMaverick 19 Jun @ 8:22pm
Yeah, I think the comparisons are more apt for Starcraft 2, rather than Starcraft 1. There's some shared elements in SC1's Terran themes, but they have a little more electronic instrumentation and brass elements.
SC2's Terran themes really dig a bit deeper into the folk-rock fusion feel.

I think the track that is being evoked by a lot of people listening to some of your songs here is "Heaven's Devils" from Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty's soundtrack. The track on the OST is actually 3 songs from the game mashed into one. The middle portion from 2:35 - 3:45 is a bit of a mood departure, but give what's on either side of that minute a listen and you might see why people are connecting them.
Dysphorid  [author] 19 Jun @ 12:23pm
@Conflagration - those are bonus tracks. I made the first draft in 2018, before mainstream AI was a thing. The other one was a couple weeks ago. Those are the only tracks where I gave it a split 50/50 between myself and my AI. The voice is a combination of both real and artificial sounds. I didn't add them to the mod since they didn't fit and weren't human enough to be worth adding. It needs to be at least 85%+ in my control before I decide if something gets added in the mod.
Conflagration 19 Jun @ 12:17pm
I'm guessing the Waiting for the Sun covers were AI? Wasn't a fan of those, but the other tracks are all fantastic.
Dysphorid  [author] 19 Jun @ 11:04am
@IceMaverick - you are now the fifth person to say that this sounds like it came out of Starcraft. I've never actually listened to that game's OST or even played it, but I'm now going to binge its soundtrack to see what all the comparisons about lol.
IceMaverick 19 Jun @ 10:32am
These have just enough rock elements overlaid on top of the country-style that Rimworld's default music goes for that they're rapidly approaching anything Terran from Starcraft. A couple of these songs are 1 nylon-to-electric guitar swap away from being just a candidate for a Terran theme.
Kokorocodon 18 Jun @ 11:07am
My man, these are so nice! Endorsed for sure!
Woodsaber 18 Jun @ 9:08am
A lot of people are naturally distrustful of any AI generated content, so it's refreshing to see a project where it's constrained to being used as a proper development tool rather than being a few prompts and a disregard for others' work.
This sounds really good too.
Dysphorid  [author] 17 Jun @ 7:04pm
I have finished the other half of the project. There is now 12 brand new songs that should fit the calming/groove vibe of RimWorld.

Starting from now, I am left with scratch tracks that don't fill this games niche... but perhaps it can be updated whenever I got time.
Dysphorid  [author] 17 Jun @ 9:28am
@KarbonPanzer - yeah it took a half a day to figure out how to do this mod, was quite simple actually... after reverse engineering P-Music lol.

@BigDorbo - glad to be apart of your colonies, also check your email for a surprise. :)
BigDorbo 17 Jun @ 9:05am
I can see where Fenry is coming from. Still original and high quality, so they go in my modlist(s). Also got the album on Bandcamp. Great work.
KarbonPanzer 17 Jun @ 8:36am
Good to see this make it to the workshop.
Dysphorid  [author] 17 Jun @ 7:48am
@Alex - yep yup, still glad to be of service. Volume 2 should include more focused down tempo / space western themes to match the original OST better. In any ways, more music is more mayhem. :P
Alex 17 Jun @ 7:44am
I mean Fenry is right, it's a different tone but they're really good tracks so they're going in my game regardless
Stallion 17 Jun @ 7:42am
Damn, you are going to be HUGE one day.
Dysphorid  [author] 17 Jun @ 7:38am
@Stallion - yes, with the aid of a custom voice resonance tool I built myself.
Stallion 17 Jun @ 7:36am
Are you the singer in the tracks?
Dysphorid  [author] 17 Jun @ 6:50am
@ferny - good point. I'll make a pass for it soon.
ferny 17 Jun @ 6:47am
@Dysphorid Maybe nudge some of these higher intensity calm tracks to be tense tracks instead? I feel as though you'd get more bang for your buck
Dysphorid  [author] 17 Jun @ 6:22am
@Oharo @Stallion - thanks for the words! I have more planned on the way, at least a couple.
Dysphorid  [author] 17 Jun @ 6:21am
@fenry - I agree actually to what you're saying. It does have a slightly different tone as I wanted to come out strong with majority of these songs to be high energy for either Raids or after certain events happened in game (that one is tricky to implement properly). Whenever I get around to a volume 2, most of the songs will be somber, more atmospheric, and have that lovely space western flair.
ferny 17 Jun @ 4:40am
Great music standalone but hard to gel it into the main game alongside P-Music and such. Feels like it has a slightly different tone to it.
Stallion 16 Jun @ 11:32pm
These slap.
Oharo 16 Jun @ 10:05pm
I just listened to all of them on Bandcamp. They're really good! Thank you for making them! I think my personal favorite was Caravan.
