I'd love to see the standalone version with b42 features.
Bebomb :) 5 Jul @ 7:24pm
@Loududdy if im right, standalone version means without the normal map
Loududdy 5 Jul @ 3:22pm
What does a standalone version mean? Isn't this already standalone?
BuchoJefe  [author] 1 Jul @ 7:39am
@Ƒᴏᴜʟᴅᴏɢ, working on that among others things, the release of 42.10 add some delay
Ocular 1 Jul @ 7:36am
Awesome job, id love to see a standalone version, but im unsure if thats possible with b42 yet?
BuchoJefe  [author] 27 Jun @ 7:19am
@azoalio.azoalio, yeap, the same. We'd have to look for sites with references to the show; I haven't had a chance to explore it in detail yet.
azoalio.azoalio 27 Jun @ 5:00am
wait, isnt this place from my name is earl?
BuchoJefe  [author] 26 Jun @ 6:56pm
@ChuckMillerPlays, yes, this version has in-game map.
ChuckMillerPlays 26 Jun @ 12:14pm
Does this version have an in-game map?? I played the original years ago and there was no map for it so I had to hand draw everything...which was interesting
Kheinex 26 Jun @ 7:19am
Been waiting for this, perfect map for b42
BuchoJefe  [author] 26 Jun @ 4:39am
@Burleon, Thanks I'm glad you like it :Glow_Tulip: The standalone version is comming :lunar2019piginablanket:

BuchoJefe  [author] 25 Jun @ 7:39pm
@John P, working in progress
John P. 25 Jun @ 11:19am
is there an option to have this map standalone, like the original?
TheBlandMan 25 Jun @ 7:56am
Hey Earl
BuchoJefe  [author] 24 Jun @ 11:10am
@ZodyJack I'll add it later, the distribution system is actually to inestable on the actual release
ZodyJack 24 Jun @ 10:45am

Picnic 24 Jun @ 10:09am
@BuchoJefe Thanks alot it works now :)
SuiWui 24 Jun @ 9:52am
@BuchoJefe Thank you, im new to the game so i was just curious.
BuchoJefe  [author] 24 Jun @ 5:01am
@Ivan54HD the author is active & announced upgrade to B42
BuchoJefe  [author] 24 Jun @ 4:44am
@SuiWui, If you say you've explored very little, it's highly probable that you don't need to use it. It's just common sense. Look, below I'm sharing an image of the chunks generated in a random game:
https://imgur.com/jKSByfL
These are generated as you move across the map in 8x8 tile blocks around your character. In simpler terms, they are those "paths" that form on the map as you discover places, as shown in this other image:
https://imgur.com/JXC4CYQ
The chunk cleaner is ONLY necessary when you know that the map mod you're adding exists in one of those previously visited areas, or when a map mod update requires it (e.g., a house or road was added, something was removed, etc.). Deleting chunks from the map forces the game to regenerate them the next time you load your save.
Please note that the map you see in the background of the B42ChunkCleaner is just a visual reference.
I hope I've been clear. If not, don't hesitate to ask again.
Ivan54HD 24 Jun @ 2:10am
Please lake ivy i love that map
SuiWui 23 Jun @ 7:46pm
Do i still ned to get the chunk cleaner mod if I've only explored a tiny tiny area of the map? I just made this save and I've only stayed in one area.
BuchoJefe  [author] 23 Jun @ 2:33pm
@Jaikeh, Ah, I see. The version you need to check below the Zomboid client is this one:
https://imgur.com/5xU0Tm5

When you browse the workshop, the version the mod works with is shown on the right:
https://imgur.com/8mlUgxS

To use the B42 version, you can follow the instructions here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/108600/allnews/

It's not working for you because you're using the Zomboid client version 41.78; you need to use version 42 or later.
Picnic 23 Jun @ 1:59pm
@BuchoJefe https://imgur.com/maWldFE <-- this is the latest version i can choose
BuchoJefe  [author] 23 Jun @ 1:53pm
@Jaikeh, the Spoon version is for B41... this is for B42
Send a link with a screen capture of your mod list and the version reported down right of the main screen
Picnic 23 Jun @ 1:48pm
@BuchoJefe all other mods work for me. All B42 except this one.

Spoon has a version that works. Yours does not

strange.
BuchoJefe  [author] 23 Jun @ 1:46pm
@Jaikeh, the version you see in the top right corresponds to changes made to the mod since its first release. The mod is designed only to work in B42; it doesn't function in B41. That's why it's strange to me that you don't see it in your mod list. Do other B42 mods appear in your list? The game doesn't always sort items alphabetically. Let me know anything else here.
Picnic 23 Jun @ 1:40pm
@BuchoJefe i'm running the latest version 42.9 i believe. Could you update it to that version maybe. Or do i need to go to settings in the game and make it 42.0.0 or something. The Camden county of creator Spoon does show up. but not yours.
BuchoJefe  [author] 23 Jun @ 10:49am
@Jaikeh, you should see something like this:

Are you playing B42?
If it's so, try closing the game, unsubscribe mod, the subscribe again, run the game and let me know
Picnic 23 Jun @ 10:38am
@BuchoJefe It does not show up in the Mod Menu. I think you have to update the version. I cant seem to play it at all. It does not show up.
ZodyJack 23 Jun @ 9:06am
YES!YES!YES!FINALLY!
BuchoJefe  [author] 23 Jun @ 8:46am
@Jaikeh, What exactly isn't working for you? Could you be more specific?
Picnic 23 Jun @ 7:08am
Please update it does not work
BuchoJefe  [author] 22 Jun @ 9:28am
@Brindav, For now, until the stable version is released, we have no choice but to fine-tune it according to each player's preferred mode. The latest 42.9 notes show that it will apparently be a mix of heatmap and proximity to specific tiles.
Brindav 22 Jun @ 9:13am
but on the other hand from what i understood it was made for a "realistic" feeling in B41, with B42 changes the new spawns must be janky.
Brindav 22 Jun @ 9:10am
ok it is my fault then, launched it on high population because i am used to do so by default, was a bit too much for me
BuchoJefe  [author] 22 Jun @ 9:01am
@Brindav, Note from the author in B41 version:
Realistic zombie spawn map that will make notable difference between urban and rural areas. HEAVILY SUGGESTED start settings : Population > Zombie Count = "Normal" and Advanced Zombie Options = First three "0.3"

Brindav 22 Jun @ 8:52am
i don't know if it"s just me but i found the map to have an insane amount of zombies, once i reached into a city i would find as much if maybe not more zombies than there is on raven creek busiest streets, might have to tone it down a bit.
BuchoJefe  [author] 22 Jun @ 8:16am

Salvo 22 Jun @ 6:37am
I wouldn't mind a standalone version on the side, I love the idea of having it added to the base game map however being able to have the option of standalone is a nice touch
BuchoJefe  [author] 22 Jun @ 2:43am
t i ë s T o! 21 Jun @ 1:11pm

Doe 21 Jun @ 1:20am
Ok that's pretty awesome actually. it is a very massive map, so it is interesting to see how it slots into the map, I do appreciate you trying that out
BuchoJefe  [author] 20 Jun @ 11:49pm
@Doe, Yes, I read the author's notes. Still, for now, the idea was to see how it behaved—being such a massive map—along with the overall game map. Your feedback is important, as you're the ones who ultimately play it. For now, we'll see how it develops; we'll have to test it with other mods and see what we get.
Doe 20 Jun @ 11:08pm
feels weird to see it added to the main map, since the original one was always supposed to be seperate.. it purposefully has a very different feeling from the main map, the author himself said it's meant to take place a while after the outbreak already started
BuchoJefe  [author] 20 Jun @ 10:02pm
@dante, Why would that information be relevant? In reality, any map could be converted currently. I have to discard some due to hardware limitations (large maps can consume terabytes of information to process). For now, I've focused on those that were commonly found on Zomboid's MP servers. If it's about locations, sooner or later someone will release a tool to re-localize the maps.
dante 20 Jun @ 9:40pm
Would it be possible to get some information about the next map update as well?
makoonzfirewalker 20 Jun @ 7:38pm
definitely would love to see a standalone, this port is awesome!
