Well, looks like it will take a while before i can figure out what causes this problem.

I just tested it with Specter and it no longer crashes the game. We tried having a non-Madotsuki host and a Madotsuki host. Both host and client can see the Lamp-Effect in both cases. So it's working well right now! The only issue left is that the item is invisible if you drop it on the ground. But it doesn't break the game when it's dropped so that's good.

This will maybe happen more often so...do not save while wearing the Lamp-Effect. Right now i have nobody else i could test this mod so you need to test this for me.

Oh dear. I just got the new update. Specter and I found out that any client Madotsuki trying to make the Lamp-Effect hat or holding one will crash the game. It doesn't matter if the host is Madotsuki or not, all client Madotsukis will crash if they have the Lamp-Effect now. If a client already has it, the game will not open for the client. I have included a screenshot of the crash.

Well, this is going to be a tough one to fix.

Yes exactly! Sorry, I wasn't too clear.
I tested it in my own server and a friend's. Other characters besides Madotsuki also cannot see the Lamp-Effect. Even when I was the host and a different character (not Madotsuki), I could not see the Lamp-Effect.

so...if i understand it right: The host can see Everyone's Lamp-Effect, but the Client can only see his own Lamp-Effect?

@Martcraft It works! Thank you! I did notice some instances where the lamplight is inconsistent in lighting the background.
I was playing with Specter and we noticed that the lampeffect worn by other Madotsuki players is only visible to the host or that player. Basically, when I was the host Madotsuki, I could see my lampeffect and the other Madotsukis. However, when I was in someone else's server, I could only see my own lampeffect. The host Madotsuki could see mine and their own.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with this new effect! Thank you for fixing it!

Looks like it's working alright, although my friend mentioned that the lamp's lighting effect does not show up for her when I use it.

Boi, having a Test version and a Release version can can really mess you up when you forgot to change everything.

I took a look at the mod again since it updated. Happy to see more being added but you broke it.
I delved a bit deeper and the file pathing is off.
In the images/inventoryimages folder, your lamp effects are named "lamp_effect.tex" and "lamp_effect.xml". In the code for it in modmain.lua, it's directed towards "lampeffect.tex" and "lampeffect.xml". So yeah, an underscore broke it.

Whatever just updated, it now crashed the game. I can't open my servers that have her in it. Can you undo what you changed?

It's not crashing now when I examine other players. Thanks for coming back and updating this!

@Specter Well, i compared it with an different Charakter mod and it looks like you are right. Well i Updated it now, so tell me if it's working right now.

I think I figured out your problem. In your custom scripts for Madotsuki, the code when examining other players you used was "%" to call their name. If you script it as "%s" instead, it should work.

Just updated and tried it again. It returned the same error message.

Love this mod but be careful when playing with other players. Examining other players while playing as Madotsuki will still cause the server to crash.

Ryuuhime00 is right about that bug, and it does crash the game, but other than that it's a great mod

Different Kanji,same pronounce.

For example "See Sea" "Light Right" "One Won" etc...

The pronunciation is correct,but the Kanji is wrong.
It should be "窓付き" but you still pronounce as "Madotsuki".
Which means "With Window" because she has picture of a window printed to her shirt. Dunno why.

Found an error when Madotsuki wakes from her futon, the server crashes.
