Spicyfriedrice2 6 Sep, 2023 @ 4:54am

1)Copy the downloaded file into data folder for Rome 2
(..\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War Rome II\data)

2)in game make sure following options are enabled

a)options/mods (tick option , Run "movie" and "release"pack mods.
b)options/graphics/Advanced/ Particle Effects (must be set to at least Very high)

You do not (should not) enable this mod in the game launcher

Movie pack mods only work when manually installed and enabled as described, and the advanced graphics setting is required to enable dust particle effects.

I love this mod, thank you very much, I tried other 3 mods that did the same but either the performance was horrible or added unnecesary effects, this just fits in perfectly. :praisesun:
War&History 5 Mar, 2022 @ 7:47am
Kharn followed what you said and still couldn't get it to work sadly...
Kharn the Bloody 25 Feb, 2022 @ 1:26am
Still working in 2022! I playing Divide et Impera and this mod works just fine. The only catch is that you have to manually download the mod as spelled out above. Like a potato I Subscribed via Steam and assumed it would work because I didnt pay attention to detail. No dice. Click on the link http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?674697-Enhanced-Particles#post14256924 , go to TWCenter, use the second download link, unzip the rar file then place the .pack file in your Rome2TW/Data folder. Also you have to be running Graphics/particles on Very High or Ultra.
Ragnar 31 Oct, 2021 @ 12:34am
@Captain, thats because you're using more then 35 mods, you either have manually using the Rome 2 mod kit, combine a few mods together thus reducing it below the max cap at 35 mods max, or deactivate mods you like least and can do without.
If you do combine mods in one pack, piece of advise, put all the mods in one folder so you keep track of which mods you're combining.
Captain Fabulous [P.W.D] 7 Oct, 2021 @ 11:01pm
anyone know if this works with DEI. everytime i use it missing shields and bodies models. help?
Doomjazzer 14 May, 2021 @ 6:51am
I wish every TW game had this to be honest. Just started up Britannia but no particle mod to be found. :|
damianvincent 13 May, 2021 @ 7:38pm
awesome work, my go to particle mod.
Kaatun 5 Apr, 2021 @ 12:11pm
I have a question, which one of the two mods would be the best? Does this have less impact on performance than Extended Particles?
Mrauksia 15 Jan, 2021 @ 12:32am
This mod does work, download it from TWC. Subscription isn't needed.
Stix_09 4 Jan, 2021 @ 3:27am

" Therefore, the mod can only be played through a separate download . Alternatively, for the tech-savvy, it is possible to activate the mod from the workshop by changing its name and reverting the format back to .movie, via the pack file manager tool."
[/quote]

It's easier just to download and follow the install,

why?? Because the steam version doesn't work (as moviepack format mod files can't be put on steam workshop)

the download version does work and its easy to install if u follow instructions
(doesn't show in mod launcher as stated in instructions when installed this way)

(You don't need to subscribe to this mod om here (unless you know how to use PFM tool to change the workshop mod file format to "movie", and then rename it)

Just d/l it and install as per link above

AND
you also need to enable movie pack format from within the game "mods" menu under options
ful75 4 Dec, 2020 @ 10:03am
movie mod in PFM enable but nothing dust or effect for me why?
Doomjazzer 22 Nov, 2020 @ 7:47am
Mod works. Enable movie packs in TW mod menu, and copy the files into the correct folder as instructed on the TWC website. I didn't notice any FPS drops, game looks much better.
ful75 20 Nov, 2020 @ 11:30am
dont work this mod
Goblin Person 4 Nov, 2020 @ 4:07am
It's not outdated, make sure you have allowed movie type mods from the ingame mods options.
SCARFACE 5 Oct, 2020 @ 1:23pm
hello - thanks for the mod it is great! One thing to note - should there really be much dust coming out in battles on full grass fields (you know on maps where even when you zoom out you only see full green). Is there a way to choose how much comes out and what type of particle depending on the type of field (i.e. snow, full green, half green with brown mud, desert, steppes etc). thanks
SpikeLKS 27 Sep, 2020 @ 12:44pm
dont work for you? go to link on description(twcenter), download the file and past in data folder ;) enjoy
Working Joe 29 Jun, 2020 @ 11:39pm

johntitor88 3 Apr, 2020 @ 7:01am
not working
Totanakur 4 Mar, 2020 @ 3:14pm
Maxion- You don't put the rar file anywhere, you unzip it and put those .pak files in the Rome II Data folder.
Maxion87 14 Jan, 2020 @ 3:58am
in what folder should i place the rar file?
theoutcasthermit 29 Oct, 2019 @ 9:01pm
worked for me
Mantequilla 31 Aug, 2019 @ 3:08am
Is this still working?
BenVenom 10 Aug, 2019 @ 6:49am
@EuerHochwurgen: My post was a general response to all peeps stating the mod needed to be updated and/or does not work. I've been getting it to work the way that I described in my post since day 1 to this day. Nothing has changed--at least for me.
Squegy 28 Apr, 2019 @ 8:53pm
thx
Euer Hochwürgen 19 Apr, 2019 @ 4:15am
@BenVenom i think you missed the most important part.

"rudyPooCandyAss 2 May, 2018 @ 12:58am
I FIGURED IT OUT.

There is a new option in the menu under settings called "Mods". Click on it, and tick the first box to enable movie packs, then restart your game. I have no idea when this option came out, but it seems by default it is unticked, so movie packs do not run automatically as before."
thesmoosh 11 Mar, 2019 @ 1:29am
@† Shalidor † you have to download it manually (see link in comment from Jan 2 below), because of the format
Umaril 29 Jan, 2019 @ 7:03pm
Sorry for asking a dumb question but if i understood right you can just press the Sub button like normal you have to download the mod via the link? or can i just install it like any other mod? :steamsad:
Jazzu 12 Jan, 2019 @ 10:38am
This actually makes my large battles look good lol

cheers

Also note: graphical mods (like this one in particular), typically don't need to be constantly updated whenever a random ass patch comes out. This mod was last updated in 2015, but it DOES NOT need to be updated and still works. It's totally worth properly installing. I wouldn't be typing all of this shit unless I truly cared about hits mod, lol. Just properly install, and you'll be hooked for life.
BenVenom 12 Nov, 2018 @ 10:12am
It DOES WORK, you schlubs! I've had R2 uninstalled and recenlty returned. I simply subcribed + downloaded the additional file in the mod description. This mod will NOT WORK if you only hit the subscribe button!

In conclusion:
1) The mod works.
2) It's a two-part process. Subscribe on Steam + d/l additional file in mod description on Steam. Drop said file in your Rome two 'data' folder. The 'data folder is in the following path: Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War Rome II
3) Profit!

Trust me, this is it! It works. Putting files in the Rome 2 data folder is not complicated at all. If this is still too confusing, I'm sure you can find a youtube video.
White Lion 16 Oct, 2018 @ 5:22am
It's not working anymore.
zeta x supreme™ 18 Sep, 2018 @ 1:55pm
moddrym I did that and it didn't work
