Can you please rename this to "infinite nightlights"? :) It will be better for people to find and use in the future.

The link you've provided no longer exists. Who is the originial author I can ask and find? The modsinfo has no configuration enabling it infinite. Also, the 'billion' years fire doesn't seem to work when it comes to night, only be left default as time goes down. Kudos!

I would have liked this better of the fireplace would go 24/7 without having to throw logs etc. at it.

The config is set up so only the nightlight is infinite. The mod currently isn't changing anything other than that. The code for the fireplace to be infinite is not in the mod. Also no the forest fires wont be infinite.

With this mod, does this mean that forest fires are that long too? and what your saying is Firepits don't last forever?

I only uploaded this for personal use, and the way I have it set up the campfires shouldn't even be infinite. It's set so only the nightlights are infinite. So I'm uncertain whats going on with yours. Did you try opening the modmain and looking at the code? All you should have to do is uncomment all the commented lines for it to work properly. (In case you dont know what commented lines look like they have two dashes before them. Like this "-- example").
