Report a translation problem
The issue is collision related I think, when using the drill, you literally have to stuff the head against the asteroid for it to mine at all, and it only mines a very small area, and half the time it is damaged from contact with the asteroid, but still not close enough to mine. And the particle effect from mining (the dust), is coming from the back of the drill, where it connects to the ship, instead of around the drill head.
The item is codecat_drill_v3, and I dont know which of your mods it came with, i use quite a few.
On a side note, with the XL Grav funnel, can you modify the gravity on that from a straight pull to more of a spherical one? That way things that are not quite centered on the funnel will be directed more to the middle by the pull.
As for use, they're extremely advantageous on starter ships/early on in survival
I also use them in a build I made for transporting materials over a small distance.
