Noob Question , How exactly would we know ( alert / notification ? ) if a Mod has an update for download ? This Mod says last updated in 2015 ...
Economic Terrorist 19 Jun, 2024 @ 9:41am
Nice.

So I mad a map with citystates and fixed them in the editor. But now no Barbarians spaw.
If I set the citystates to random Barbarians will spawn.

Hi. I´m using barbarians - unlimited Exp mod and some times I don´t get the culture and gold for destroying an barbarian camp.
Sidekick1982 17 Oct, 2022 @ 12:51pm
Very badly balanced and buggy. Barbarians tend to multiply themselves when loading a game. The gain from killing barbarian generals is way to high. So, the general idea is great. But I cannot recommend it at all in its current state.
Amaruq 2 Oct, 2021 @ 3:57pm
Okay this is a really really small issue: Immersion. :)
AudileYeti 30 Apr, 2021 @ 10:52am
Ok just reloaded the game and it changed the name, which shows it is working but not really as it only takes effect after reload
AudileYeti 30 Apr, 2021 @ 10:16am
I'm having an issue where their names are not changing when the world enters a new era, what could be causing this issue?
my settings_BarbarianNames = 1 so idk what is the problem is
Gwizzz 17 Oct, 2020 @ 12:36am
@Goatroach: I'm running both and units still receive XP towards promotions (I've got some units at level 6) but not towards Great Generals or Admirals. This may not be a problem with this mod but with the vanilla game itself as I believe there is another mod that allows you to continue to receive XP for GG and GA from killing barbarians.
Goatroach 11 Jun, 2020 @ 2:51pm
Does this mod interfere with the unlimited barbarian Xp mod? I'm running both, and my units annoyingly no longer get Xp from barbarians after the unit receives 60 Xp.
Shavy 31 Dec, 2019 @ 4:32pm
ISIS in civ5 lol.
Star-X 12 Feb, 2019 @ 11:07am
Is this DLL based? Asking because Linux doesn't support DLL mods.
Reggin 6 May, 2018 @ 10:56am
@YasashT SMGJohn did you find your conflict?
Gwizzz 27 Mar, 2018 @ 5:15pm
@YasashT SMGJohn. It is running fine for me with dozens of mods installed; not encountering any crashes when capturing generals. I'm running with both G&K and BNW as well. I hope you figure out your conflict.
dirty_smelly_punk 13 Mar, 2018 @ 7:33am
For some reason this isn't working for me when I hit subscribe, and I can't see a direct download. Can anyone help me out?
Gman 2 Nov, 2017 @ 6:45am
Because there always were and always will pirates as long as supplys are transposed by boat and not specific to the renaissance made make coastal encampments and boats be labled I'm every era and change the renaissance era barbarians be labeled as marauders so there are no "pirates" in the middle of the desert.
SMGJohn | Citizen of USSR 7 Oct, 2017 @ 3:56pm
Keeps crashing everytime you take a general, its broken by now.
Craizey 15 Aug, 2017 @ 11:27am
Ive discovered something, with completing the city states policies (I don't remember the name) city states ocasionally gift you great people and sometimes they can actually give you the barbarian great general,I hope you can fix this or something
Rhapsody 16 Jul, 2017 @ 7:51am
Man I wish this kinda mod was available for Civ VI. :steamsad:
Crazy_Nurse69 18 Jun, 2017 @ 8:10am
this mod crash my game on barbarian turn at turn 270 anyone help?
likelylycanthrope 17 Jan, 2017 @ 7:19pm
Entirely too many barbarian great generals spawn, to the point that there seems to be one occupying almost every other camp. The unit healing rate in these camps is also ridiculous IMO.
Chem Dog 15 Jan, 2017 @ 7:32am
Does this conflict with Barbarians evolved?
sinndikat 30 Aug, 2016 @ 2:49am
Is this mod incompatible with the "communitas" mods? I can´t build buildings anymore while running this mod and the ones mentioned above...
Lonewolf 29 Aug, 2016 @ 4:26pm
To change settings in the Leugi_Barbarian_Settings.lua file, change the 1s into 0s by the features that you don't want.
Z217 26 Aug, 2016 @ 1:36am
Oh, and another great way to enhance barbarians would be if you could prevent them from spawning (overly) outdated units.
darkchocosuckao 25 Aug, 2016 @ 8:46pm
So how exactly do you disable the features in the Leugi_Barbarian_Settings.lua file? You didn't provide any instructions.
Z217 21 Aug, 2016 @ 2:09pm
It's a great mod, but the rewards for capturing a Great General seems overpowered, especially at later eras, and especially the culture reward. Also, there seems to be a glitch that makes the message of having captured a GG show up whenever emptying a camp and not only when a GG is present.
johandegelas 15 Aug, 2016 @ 4:17am
This mod causes big problems with the communitas mod: production of buildings is disabled.
Mental Midget 4 Aug, 2016 @ 7:28am
I'm using Barbarians - Unlimited Exp and I stil am not getting any xp
DerEider 3 Aug, 2016 @ 6:01am
Without a mod to correct it, vanilla Units gain no experience above 30 XP for Barbarian combat. So if your units are created with say a Barracks & an Armory they already will have 30 XP and gain no more XP :steamsad:. I use a mod that removes that limitation :steamhappy:
Mental Midget 3 Aug, 2016 @ 5:32am
Is it normal for my units not to get any XP from attacking barbarians? Not just in encampments with great generals but also with random wandering units
iNol 25 Jul, 2016 @ 11:40am
Would be amazing if the barbarian camp 3d model also change with era.
chronosphaenon 23 Jun, 2016 @ 7:37pm
Adding the mod made my cities unable to produce buildings, only units!
War Criminal 19 Jun, 2016 @ 5:24am
I'VE SUSRCIBED TO THE MOD BUT IT NOT SHOW UP IN GAME, WHY ?
Mazer 7 May, 2016 @ 5:20am
Nice idea, good execution. Well done
Sci-NZ 7 Apr, 2016 @ 10:33pm
Hi I'm having an Issue where the general is there but when I conquer the camp all I get is the base 75 gold and 0 culture. I used the mod before and it worked well, any idea what's causing it?
Haigen 13 Mar, 2016 @ 8:15am
What is a "slight chance"? Whats the exact percentage of a barbarian encampment to spawn great generals?
Cura 25 Feb, 2016 @ 4:40pm
I just want to report that the era changes never took effect for me. Though, it could be a conflict with a different mod.
Celeritas 13 Jan, 2016 @ 11:03am
I can't find this listed on the mod list when I load the game. Is it labled with another name?
dominicawb 9 Jan, 2016 @ 12:13pm
I'm also not seeing where I'd normally edit the LUA to chnage how much EXP can be earned from barbarians, does this mean this mod no longer influences that?
dominicawb 9 Jan, 2016 @ 12:00pm
Did this get reposted? And were there any changes/fixes?
Breezy101 18 Dec, 2015 @ 4:30pm
Does this limit barbarian unlimited XP mod? I can't seem to get past 60 points lvl 4, that's seriously fucked if it does, cuz it doesn't list any compatibility issues
LOBO 22 Sep, 2015 @ 1:06pm
Hmm this mod made no new camp spawing :/ I even increased posibility of "new camp spawning" to 99 and still no new camps spawn :/
LOBO 17 Sep, 2015 @ 10:43am
I ask the same question as Harmonic...
Colt 8 Sep, 2015 @ 9:10am
Is this compatible with the mod that allows Barbarians to create cities?
slothlike 4 Sep, 2015 @ 2:37am
This is a very nice addition, but it seems to me that there are just way too many Barbarian Great Generals... almost every camp has one. Just seems weirdly out of place.
Rush Knight 22 Aug, 2015 @ 8:11am
Well, I'm *very* late to this discussion, but I have a question (and pardon me if it's already been asked): would it be possible for Barbarians to attain Spies once they reach the Terrorist level? And could these Terrorist Spies, then, be programmed for different actions; i.e., destroying a wonder or building instead of stealing a tech?

I ask because I think tactics conducted through the espionage system would be more in line with the actions one might expect against civilizations, while city-states would still be subject to pillaging. If it's beyond the scope of this mod, I totally understand and will wait patiently for Civilization 6.

All that aside, this is exactly the sort of mod I was hoping to find, and I look forward to trying it. Thank you!
cannonballsimp 16 Aug, 2015 @ 12:10pm
I have a suggestion. Why not make it so that you can earn a limited amount of experience against barbarians (and their descendants) per era? This would balance out the greater challenge, and contribute to immersion: as barbarians evolve, your units would need to learn new techniques to combat them.
Civil Disorder 13 Aug, 2015 @ 7:56pm
Loving the idea of this mod and the challenge it brings (especially with raging barbarians). It slows the expansionist game down and prevents zerg-rushing tactics and I am pleased as hell by that.

Running into one major bug with it though; the bonus gold and culture reward for taking camps that host generals does not trigger if you take the Honor social policy. Not sure if it's a known issue or not. Keep up the good work on this though!
