I recommend starting small, near the highway offramp. Plan on making an ugly (yet economically viable) starting town with no frills. Later on, you can develop the coastline and tax the unwashed masses out of town.

really nice map, i just don't know how to start, limited with 70k starting money

Soo many Weaselzone fans here, please tell me you guys made a workshop collection cause it's such a pain in the ass just shecking up his Imgur and doing it one-by-one. ;_;

Thanks! Had a good time making it.
DnZ 25 Mar, 2016 @ 12:09pm
This is still a nice creation well done ;)
feisty lobster  [author] 25 Mar, 2016 @ 1:04am
True. I had to make compromises, since there's no way to create tunnels in the map editor (aside from an ugly exploit). I really wish the devs would get around to implementing this feature at some point.
DnZ 24 Mar, 2016 @ 11:59am
Nice idea but the placement of the roads doesn't reflect the reality (especially for "le Rocher")
France_For_Life 21 Mar, 2016 @ 3:44pm
Beautiful!!!!!! :) ;) ;)

@Lea to be honest, Nice is one of the most polluted cities in France, so there's that :-) but I reckon that could be a problem in game
ConureGuy_411 17 Jul, 2015 @ 11:16pm
I subscribed to this map cause it looks beautiful in the pics but I was disappointed with the actual result. The buildable are that it starts out in is too hilly and trying to adjust the terrain with terraform mod doesn't work because of the river in this map. Too bad cause I really would have enjoyed this map otherwise
Trippynet 26 Apr, 2015 @ 3:11am
I second the request for some slight sea currents. I'm happy for the level to start a bit messy and I've already pretty much drained the stream and had to build a water tower to meet demand, but by the time I unlock the water treatment plant, the sea is going to be pretty much an ocean of sludge that won't go away - and that does kind of spoil the idyllic setting somewhat. Other than that, I am loving the map so far!
Lea 21 Apr, 2015 @ 1:26am
Could you please fix the water-current issue on this map? :) By the time you get a big city, there is no way to get clean water since there are no currents in the sea. The reservoir up top gets emptied when using water uptakes causing lack of water in the entire city, while the entire coastline is permanently polluted since the water processing plants only cleans it 85%.
lauren 20 Apr, 2015 @ 6:38pm
how do i use this??
feisty lobster  [author] 19 Apr, 2015 @ 9:47pm
Thanks Infinitus. It seems that one of my mods was corrupting the map files. Latest version is verified glitch-free.
Infintus 19 Apr, 2015 @ 7:30pm
I just downloaded this to my game, and it seems to break spectacularly every time I try to start a new game. All other maps work when starting a new game
feisty lobster  [author] 19 Apr, 2015 @ 6:43pm
Due to popular demand, I went ahead and added a stream to the starting tile. Railroad heights have also been reduced, without deviating too far from the high speed construction style.

이맵 물이 안흐르네....사진처럼이쁜 바다는 하수때문에 똥물이 되버림..........ㅠ
Awesomeoven 18 Apr, 2015 @ 8:59pm
Really good map! Only issue is, that there is no water current, which makes it very hard to manage sewage.
Axiom 16 Apr, 2015 @ 8:46am
The only thing I dislike about this map is how the railroad tracks are extremely elevated throughout the majority of the map. There really isn't a need for this, and it doesn't seem realistic. Can you place them on the ground?
khaern 15 Apr, 2015 @ 10:41pm
@Tengu8888 : That's why they built it on the sea in real life ! ;)

A beautifull map, but hard to find a place to build an airport.
NeonsStyle 15 Apr, 2015 @ 12:17am
Is there a way to load this as a savegame in CS?
Lord Rato 14 Apr, 2015 @ 12:17pm
Wow, nice.
BUBA shaft13 14 Apr, 2015 @ 11:39am
Beautiful map just no real way to handle sewage without polluting all the water
Jenkins 13 Apr, 2015 @ 6:17am
Pretty cool lobster :) couldn't resist making a panorama https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=424369266

+ Resources
+ Bays
+ Terraces
+ Artistic layout 4 highway & train connections

- Tricky sewerage setup before Treatment plant is unlocked.
- Issues with resi areas on the terraces getting sick from ground pollution, that are very far away from any industry or pollution (couldn't trace source, water was 0%)
- No flowing water in starting tile. While a good challenge, the constant shifting of water pumps & sewerage pumps as you unlock more tiles, & before treatment plants are available, turns the challenge into an annoyance (1 small stream in starting tile flowing into the ocean would be nice, that way pumps can be added 'upsteam', but with limited water so bigger expansions would need a different water source maybe?)

Apart from those cons, awesome map, the terraces easily sell it, regardless of other flaws. Hoping to see more like this! :D

Thanks everyone for your comments and ideas. I will be supporting this map, so keep the suggestions coming.

Love the map, not to sure about the trade and cruise ships going into the coastal area. Kinda looks odd with how they move and clip though each other ~
Tony 12 Apr, 2015 @ 11:21am
Well, this sure is a Nice job! (pun intended)

Wow, beautiful, I lived in the French riviera for a number of years, you've done a great job ;)

Gorgeous! My only complaint is I can't take a real vacation in the resort city I have built... :P

Challenge accepted!

I'm in love with hilly maps, it makes the game so much more fun and aesthetically pleasing.

Big thumbs up!

Thanks for the good tips, this inspired me to make a map of my own =) Its damn much harder then it looks haha.
feisty lobster  [author] 11 Apr, 2015 @ 5:06pm
I appreciate your feedback Gucio. You're absolutely right about the sewage pond predicament. My approach was just to move the drain pipes to outer tiles as they became available, after which the existing pollution dissipates pretty quickly. Another option would be using Mabako's NG+ mod to unlock all the tiles from the outset.

I find it works best to start development in the hills, gradually expanding toward the waterfront as your economy grows. Later, you might consider moving low-density commerce to the smooth upper slopes as you work on beautifying the coast.
Jubblator 11 Apr, 2015 @ 3:42pm
Brilliant map, i really like how it forces you to build uneaven roads and thus utilizing all of the different building sizes. The only objection i have is that there is not enough waterflow on the starting tile, which turns my lovely beach into a sewage dump. Or am i missing something?
It does get better when you unlock the watertreatment plant.
feisty lobster  [author] 11 Apr, 2015 @ 12:41pm
Thanks for the heads up! All road directions should now be correct.
