Thank you Orzu7 for this excellent building! :-)

I highly recommend this power plant! 10/10. If you liked this, also check out my highly second recommended player created power plant here called Dream Biogas:

You might want to state in the description of this asset that there*s a new version available

Gameplaywise it's great, I love using it
but the texture is off in terms of scale, not only are there giant bricks, but the doors and gates on the floor ar a bit too big when being compared to the containers at the side
TurtleShroom 24 Oct, 2019 @ 1:50pm
The only problem with the Building's textures are the size of the bricks on the main station.

Texturing is not great. Good start.

well not all geothermal plants look nice...most them look like cyperpunk almost design? there is wikipedia page for it too...that has exact image.
UniverseMasterer 27 Sep, 2016 @ 5:59pm
the domes and circles could be more "circular" and by that i mean use more tris to make a more smooth look to it.
I do forgive the bad texturing job though, as i can't find textures for my needs that aren't restricted, aren't just photos (people call photos "textures" for some reason) and look OK for my models. :(

Seems so cool! I'll test it!

Just got a new rig so I can finaly go back in and do some dev work on this! Thanks for the feedback everyone : )

Model could use some work (And that output/cost ratio, dear me), but it's a great mod and concept. Keep working on it! c:

fit well in the -Scandinavian- all in one Collection:

thank you, Thumbs up

great idea. not sure about the model. could use abit more dev to really stick out i think. :) nontheless thanks for the addition!! and geothermal is definitely the future.

Incredible idea, but you should think about some limitations, since it only works on geotermal lands, i don't know if its possible to apply any kind of rule of placement to consider this, but anyways Great Job!

a real good Idear !
Orzu7  [author] 28 Apr, 2015 @ 8:20pm
I'm agree too! lol

I'm working on a new texture map to for this. It looked good when rendered but the game did strange things to it once import. It turn the slighly large bricks into pyramid sized ones!

@konjik7: No worries. I had a friend years ago who is an engineer who showed and explained to me the blueprints and designs that he and co-engineers were working on. It was a much smaller geothermal system used for heating buildings in the winter and cooling them in the summer, rather than using the heat to spin turbines.

I was thinking a small amount of clear city water would be used in it to occasionally flush out sediment build-up in the turbines and feed pipes. Not significan for the game stats though.

I agree with jogi9b, smaller bricks and maybe smaller doors would make the plant seem bigger and more impressive visually.

a very good idea and a beautiful building, only the stones in the brick wall are too big, i think.
* thumbs up *

I really wanted output of this plant to be variable based on loacation but i lack programing knowledge for this game.

I will consider adjusting stats to be more for game balance then true to life output of modern high effieceincy plants.
Orzu7  [author] 28 Apr, 2015 @ 1:15am
This designed was built off weeks of research and the knowledge of a few engineers that works at one.

These plants reinject the water back into the earth after using it. Even after the steam is separated from the water and cycles through a turbine... Once it's liquid again its pumped back from where it came. Atmospherically vented steam makes its way back into the earth via rain.

So water consumption would imply, city waters needed which simply isn't true to life.

@konjiki7: I love the concept of having geothermal in the game. (Looks decent and I love the sound it makes up close) I've spent a couple hours doing research online and I think this would be good stats:

Building Specs
Cost: 90,000
Upkeep : 1980
Output 220 MW
Polution: 0
Noise pollution : 20
Water: 20

This would make it produce 60 MW more than the solar plant, with a slightly higher upkeep though. Keep in mind that geothermal has a network of pipes deep beneath the earth that need to be maintained. Also the cost to build it is high because of all the drilling etc that needs to be done.

₡9 per MW is still a good price in the end.

Anyways, if you modify the stats to this, I'll use it. Otherwise it's too unbalanced. I'd love to use it, and think many others would too if the stats were more realistic.

Cheers,
Admiral 8Q

₡1.66 per MW? That is super cheap and unrealistic. I'll do some research on Geothermal upkeep costs. Also I would guess that there would be some water consumption at least for cooling some of the machinery. Great concept though! With some tweeking this coold be cool :)

The power plant has been updated with new stats and a far more attractive icon!
thsmar 19 Apr, 2015 @ 11:44am
Orzu7  [author] 19 Apr, 2015 @ 2:36am
The icons are auto generated. Some have found ways around this but i haven't found anything on how to do this yet...
tjvelcro 18 Apr, 2015 @ 4:27pm
Also I just tested in game and while it looks good ingame the icon in the selection bar looks like its very zoomed in. Maybe you can mod it to look similar in size to the default ones? Thanks.
tjvelcro 18 Apr, 2015 @ 11:45am
Hi, very cool idea for a new power plant. It seems to generate way more power (480MW) than the solar power plant (160MW), but they are both very similar cost. Below is a link to the stats on all the default power plants.

Upvoted it due to realism. :-)

Love it :D
Orzu7  [author] 13 Apr, 2015 @ 1:15am
Thanks! If enough people like it I may make some more game content!
genepooldesign 12 Apr, 2015 @ 12:33pm
Great Job! Love it.
