I am afraid I cannot teach you to use Hammer, but I can direct you to the Valve Software wiki, which is where I taught myself, and still am teaching myself. :D

I know how you feel. I'm tring to make Gmod videos on my Wordproccessing laptop that I had for over 3 years. And it lags like crazy. I'm saving enough money to buy my self a new gaming latop to handle all the high graphics, which won't be easy since I don't have a job, yet.
