When I was originally making the relay station, I looked for different reference pictures and some I found had solar panels in them. I figured they were for some kind of backup systems or something and I liked the way they looked, so I added them.

Just came back to the game and have to say I am glad this asset is still around. I love using it as a game starter or to help extend power in tricky areas.

@AngryDragon, I am actually out in AZ, USA and most of our substations have solar panels attached to them. From what I understand they arn't there to actually generate power but to keep the automatic monitoring & alert systems powered in the case of an outage. That way even if the whole area goes down the home office still knows where the actual breaks in the network are. Probobly more useful in rural areas that in the heart of a city but thats what i always figured the design had them for :)

People kept complaining about it having too many triangles, so I just deleted it. It was my first attempt anyway and this one is much better. I don't even play the game anymore. Also, I accidentaly deleted your comment, sorry about that.

I really like the idea of a sub stations, we've got those all over the place in Québec. They are quite literally part of the landscape and some are larger than your average shopping center. With that said, I really don't understand why there are solar panels. It really tickles my sense of aesthetic. Theses are meant to distribute power. They do not generate power, so the solar panels really feel out of place. Small offices, bundles of wire, spare transformers, utility trucks would have been more appropriate.

Still going strong with new patch. Very useful as remote power source, for connecting power grid to new areas, and filling in unused spaces. It has become indispensable. Thanks!

I've never had any performance issues with it and I use it all over my cities. Never had any complaints from anyone about performance issues while using it either. This is the reduced triangle version. You should see the original one I made, which was my first model that I ever made. It was way higher in triangles.

It's a nice part of many complexes around my city and looks really nice with DSR from 6k to 2k resolution.

Not the fence. The fence is a separate prop. It's the tower and lattice structure. I actually remade it a while back. It was about twice what it is now. I use plenty of them in my game and get no performance hit at all. Not sure why so many people seem to worry about tris count, unless you are using a really old computer, it shouldn't effect your game at all.

Yes, it is compatible. Works fine in my game. It even has snow build up on it. Not sure how they do that, but it's awesome!

I think this is my favorite asset. Bypasses silly game mechanics and lets focus on whats important. All while keeping immersion. Only thought would be to make it slightly bigger just so I could appreciate the detail but the size it practical as is.

Ryhuul, you can take it in the editor and change it yourself if you want it cheaper. I think it is reasonable at what I have it set at.

This is working for me too now. Thanks for the update, it looks real nice and is a good alternative for power cables (I always struggle with them around elevated rail and highway).

I completely remade the asset with updated building model and added lights. Let me know if the fences and such show up now. If they do not, then I have no idea what else to do.

I only had the subscribed fences and sign. I removed the original files and even made sure by loading the asset and it didn't have them on it. I then added the subscribed ones. I just don't understand what the problem is.
Well, I changed it so it didn't have to be on a road, but you could put it next to them if you wanted to.

I'm afraid it didn't work. Did you remove the assets from your folder first? If you were subscribed to the uploaded once and you still had the local files probably the game used the local files instead. My relay station looks fine, exactly as yours and I changed it so it snaps on roads, I like it better this way.

Since there are missing props I think you should. My advice subscribe to the chain link fence, gate and danger sign and use them instead. Just to be sure. That's what I did I put all the fences around and the danger sign and it looks as it should.

I did update everything to have the thumbnail pictures and tooltip pictures. All props still show up for me though. Not sure why others don't see them. I guess I could remake it and upload it as a new asset. Not sure if that would work or not. Anyone think I should do that?

Same issue here, I had the fence props already but they don't appear on asset. Probably they were "disconnected" meaning the props that used to create the asset were updated, changed somehow and game can't find them because the current ones have different id. My guess....

I've heard this before about the props not showing up for people and I don't know what to do about it. Everything shows up fine in my game. I just don't understand what the problem is. Feel free to edit it yourself and see if it works for you that way.

Now the main station works fine but the additional props don’t show up in game or in asset editor. I unsubed and resubed all four items and still the station doesn’t have gates or the sign. I think I’m going to edit my own version...

This doesn’t show up in the electricity panel. Output log has following error:

Actually, the version without solar panels got broke somehow and vanished from peoples games. I couldn't fix it so I deleted it. Whatever they changed in the last update messed it up when I tried to fix the fences. I'm not sure I even want to try to fix this version. People can add the fences themselves if they want them. I'm tired of fooling with it. I've been working on a vehicle that i hope to release next week.

Can someone who just downloaded this asset and knows it is showing the fences correctly respond here and let me know? I would like to know how many it's working correctly for and how many it's not working for.
