Just noticed that this mod active, the new build system doesn't work for most the multi blocks. I am guessing it is because this mod edits the G-menu icons and somehow conflicts now with the new build system with the blocks that have the small + on corner of their icon.

That seems like a solid idea, not sure how the corner icons would scale but it's sure worth a try.

I won't be able to try for at least another 10 days :-S

Instead of just color coding, could you like, and a little yellow lightning bolt in the corner of the block icon, etc. Use color WITH pictography, keep the original gray picture of the thing, with a little symbol from your mod, that way it fits in with other mod components

I just finished my trial here in China! Heading back to the US on the 8th. I think I'll have enough time to fix this mod right now...but if not certainly my 2-3 weeks in the US with nothing to do will be enough to polish and shine things a little!

I trust myself hardly to say it, but... The mod breaks my hydrogen system... Without your mod my hydrogen tank where filled, but with your mod, the hydrogen tank stay empty.

@thunderbirdlead Okay, I think I get what you mean, yeah that would be something completely outside what the game allows convenient access for designing. I wouldn't even be able to begin to code something like that.

I am (sorry for sucking so much) in the middle of a trial and until it's settled, haven't really had time to run Steam much. The next court date is the 20th and once it's done I should be able to be a little more relaxed, but then I have to move and start working again so I don't think I'll finish vanilla icons any time soon, never mind other mod ones.

Oxygen isn't working after updating to 103 when using this mod.

It seems that both of these files need to be updated.

I kinda like the new color-coding going on there in the main picture there. I am curious though, will it eventually expand to include mod blocks that might be lacking a colored icon?

what i mean is for the colors of the icons (like a refinary) would have the same colored parts (a armor block green or red depending on your selected color) but if you do find a way for it to work with the P menue then well.... devs would have to add that

I don't understand, you mean the blocks should be the color as they are placed to match the color in the menu? I don't know how to change that, that's set with the "p" palette.

As of 1.101, modded antennas, timer blocks, beacons (I think), and possibly some other blocks I haven't used won't place, including the replacements this mod does. Based on the latest comment in https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=340298930 , the fix should be simple, but this mod does need to be updated to be compatible.

That's a great idea, I already fixed the steel plate, too, cause it's too boring, as someone mentioned ages ago, added 5 blocks so far, redid 5 blocks, and have so far color-coded all the function blocks.

@DranKof It might be stealing ideas, so maybe you should ask the author of the mod I'm gonna mention, but flipping the girder icon seems really helpful to make sure you don't make it by mistake when you want small steel tubes. Or giving it some colour or something.

As of a recent patch, plenty of components have new resource costs, for example Metal Grids cost iron, cobalt, and nickel. This mod, as essential as I think it is, overrides this official rebalance. I'm not sure what to think about this, but I'm pretty sure it's not intended.

I have about 100 mods I use, not all for each world but a lot. Since last update I have found 7 mods with errors that had no isssue before, so I'll try and use different ones and see if I can find a conflict with yours I guess. Thanks for checking

There's a model viewer in the SE directory under tools.
Open model, rotate as necessary to get a good isometric view, change light angle to make shape clear, screenshot, find background and make transparent, adjust brightness/contrast balance if necessary to make the pic a little more vibrant, add a black outline, save as DDS file, place in directory, done. Friend request sent! It has kinda been on standby as I've been busy with life. Willing to take suggestions on any current icons, too.

Could you share your technique for modifying the icons? I had a similar though and would like to contribute to your mod rather than start a new mod that basically does exactly what yours does.
