I'm having trouble getting this barge to interact with your transfer station. It seems to have a different loading system from the other barge and the station, and it's making it difficult to load my materials into the transfer station. Any suggestions?

Hey there, recent bug I found. I got the mining drone to turn it's thrusters on, and when I press P to detach, the drone doesn't seem to have enough thrust to break the magnetic lock of the connector., and whenever I manually control the drone, i have no way of turning the autopilot back on.

oh its no trouble at all! the barge is still amazing! I think I can handle not having a drone. I'll just build a small miner that fits in the drone bay and still use the barge :D But yes i think it might be a glitch on SE's side because I spawned several ships and the problem persisted

Well that's bizzare. That drone isn't as polished - abvious already I now - as my other stuff tends to be because it was mostly meant as an example of something one could put in the mining barge. That said, those problems shouldn't be happening sorry for the trouble; I'll take another look.

So i was running a checklist of everything you suggested when i realized something. I'm in survival mode.... So I went back out to the drone, did everything you suggested, and then drilled into the side to find the reactor. Sure enough, there was no fuel in it. So now i've added uranium and the controls work, i can turn on the camera on the fron of the ship and also control the drills, but still cant move it. It has now floated out of the bay on its own some how lol.

The remote control you found is the remote for the barge itself. It sounds like the drone might already be disconnected from the ship. When you paste the ship in it should, by default, be owned by "me" and the drone should be set to this same ownership. If you had to change the ownership it is possible that the drone disconnected when the ownership was changed. If this happened you'll need to fly yourself out to the drone and access it directly in order to change the ownership of all the functional blocks on the drone to the same ownership as the barge ("me").

If the ownerships are the same and the drone's antenna is on (you might want to set its range to max while you're changing ownership) you should be able to go back to the barge and remotely control the drone by getting into a flight seat, opening the K menu and then clicking on the drop down menu which displays a list of ships in antenna range - click on the drone ship and select the forward flight control. Let me know if that still doesn't work - good luck! :)

Thanks for the quick response! The ship is really awesome by the way! So when i search the control panel for "remote control" only one item appears and when i take control of it the hotbar changes but the hotbar is empty now and the controls still move the barge. Weird :/

Just double checked. I'm guessing that the issue might be that you're looking for the thruster group on the hotbars of the flight seats. You need to first open the menu and find the forward flight remote control attached to the drone and "control" it. Once you've done that, you'll see a new hotbar with drone systems preconfigured. The button assigned to the 8 position is the drone thrust group. All you should need to do is hit that once to turn the drone thrust on and then hit P to detach from the barge - and off you go! If you lose control of the drone after detaching it is likely an issue with antenna range (being out of it) or an ownership issue (i.e. barge being set to different ownership than the drone - they should both be set to your ownership). I cant seem to get the drone working. There is no group in the control menu named "thrusters" and i'm not sure how to take control of the drone. I am in the main cockpit. Also there is nothing in slot 9 of one of the hotbars. Is it possible this is where the thruster group is supposed to be? I've looked at every hotbar several times and still dont see it

Further testing i can say the following.

Steps taken:

Load world and paste in ship
Approach Outer Hatch Sensor
Sensor Triggers Timer closing inner door, depressurizes the section and opens outer door

Now here is where it fails

When your inside the ship you approach the inner door sensor. The Inner door is already open because it doesnt close when you go in the ship (pretty sure this is intended)

When you walk up to the outer door the inner door correctly closes and the section depressurizes and you fly out but when you turn around to look at the ship you will see that the inner and outer doors are now open with the entire ship depressurized.

At this point your doors are borked.

I love the ship but i have to say the Airlock Doors mess up A LOT and just stop working because they get out of sync and the timers get all messed up. If you dont know how to reset all of this correctly your SOL (which is my case)

Im my experience if you accidentally manually open one or if you go through one door and then back up at all it will trigger the sensor again opening both doors and then whalla your out of sync and the doors stop functioning as intended.

Drone isn't working on my game. It's just completely locked up. Nothing I do lets me control it, and if I decouple it, I end up just trashing it.

This ship blueprint should show up in your in game F10 menu (blueprints menu); whereas, a world should show up in the main menu before you actually get into a game. So if you're looking for this where a world should be, that's why you're not finding it. If it isn't in the F10 menu, you might need to refresh blueprints and wait for the spinning wheel to stop (sometimes takes a while to download from steam). Once it has stopped, you may need to re-enter the search for the ship or station you're trying to find because the F10 menu may not update with the newly refreshed blueprints until you do that. I hope that helps - let me know if it doesn't and I'll see what I can do!

Whenever I attempt to download the ship/world either by subscribing in game or out of game and relaunching Steam does download files to my PC but still unable to find any of your works in workshop. Am I missing a step vital to it being shown or may something be bugged at my end

This is an excellent ship, well laid out and functional. I learned a lot about airlocks and remote by reverse engineering it. It looks good and looks very realistic. Thanks. One suggestion. The first time I spawned the ship, and took it for a spin, the drone came loose and damaged both ships. You might want to explore why that happens.

for some reason i could not access the reactor from the larger connector. i eventually figured it out. great ship!

Just checked all connections and they are connected: Connector to large container, large container to conveyors to large reactor and drills, and large storage also to medium container to conveyors to small reactors. The connector is connected through the large opening on the back - not the small openings on the sides.

Thanks Dunkersplay. As far as the drone goes, there are directions above, if you follow those you should be good. You'll want to get into the flight seat in the lower section and make sure you have an antenna active on both the drone and the main ship, also make sure ownership of both is set to "me" before you decouple the drone from the ship. From there, just take control of the forward flight remote on the drone from the flight seat in the lower section and you can view the cameras on the drone so that you are able to see where you are flying.

@Dunkersplay: It isn't a station, if that's what you're wondering. It has gyroscopes and thrusters so it is fully capable of being flown around. If you got into a flight seat and couldn't move it, you might be in the lower seat which isn't the main flight seat. The seat for piloting the barge is in the forward most lower section. The flight seat that is midship and lower is for piloting the drone (though the drone could be piloted from the forward flight seat too).

Well, i always try to make my mining ships more of a tube design then the blocky, one wich many people seem to use since its "more effective".

@ Joshua Norton: Thanks! Ya, I struggle with mining ships because it seems like the practical ones (at least in my estimation) don’t really look very good - at least the drone is either tucked away in the ship or in an asteroid most of the time :)
