I had fun reading your story Fark Oush! Thanks for sharing, for the kind words, trying out the ship, and giving it a review :D

I appreciate the feedback on the laser antenna - I designed the LMV and the other 2 small VC utility ships around the same basic hull which included that antenna. They were made not long after the laser antenna was introduced and I figured it would be useful in multiplayer survival. However, you make a great point about the line of sight issues; I can see how that would be a big problem with a mining vehicle. Good call replacing it - I herby declare that you did not void the warranty ;)

The corrugated blast door armor makes this a great miner. Withstands pilot abuse in narrow corridors. I got pinched by a space pirate while mining out an asteroid in the Prospector. Even with 500kg it got up to speed quick, but the drone shredded the laser antenna in the rear to sparks and smoke. I decoupled and turned the heavily armored starboard side towards the gatling fire, and it held up with no problems until me and the Prospector slid safe across home plate and 4 gatling turrets. 5/5 would weld in survival.

One question though: why is the laser antenna there? I have a hard time keeping it in line of sight of anything while I burrow. After the drone attack, I replaced it with a layer of blast doors, hope I didn't void the warranty. Thanks for the ship! :d2naturesprophet:

That's really odd - probably is just SE, but thanks for letting me know!

Just letting you know, i was flying home after a good day mining and as im flying the cargo container decided its planet needed it.
ripped its self right out of the ship and without power i just fell to my death :(
Could just be SE but just thought i would let you know.

I just had a look and I think the issue is that the OSV (unless modified by a player) doesn't have a refinery onboard. Because of this there is no functional block on the OSV that will automatically pull ore from the LMV, which is why you are finding that you need to manually transfer your haul. I attached a refinery, then connected an ore laden LMV to the OSV and found that it would transfer automatically as one would expect.

I can think of two potential fixes, both of which invovle modifying the OSV a bit. Option one is to add a refinery somewhere (a fairly substantial modification). Option two is to replace one or more of the conveyor tubes behind the connectors, or leading to the container(s), with conveyor sorters. You can then select the "Drain All" option on the sorter; the sorter will then act like the refinery and automatically pull all of the ore out of your LMV when you dock.

I hope that helps; feel free to check back if there are any further issues.

Thanks for checking out the ships and happy engineering!

Love this ship but I seem to be having trouble with the connector. It isn't pulling things cargo or transfering them to another ship, been using the VC Operations Support Vessel “OSV”. I've tried some other ships, the mining barge and drone, and they seem to work fine. I can still transfer things manualy but after a long mining session this takes a while.

On a number of my ships (pretty sure this is one of them), I have a remote which is oriented so that, when controlled from the cockpit, a pilot can fly using the docking camera and the controls will feel just as intuitive as normal flight i.e. up will still be up, right will still be right, etc.

Thank you for the kind words, and thanks for stopping by! :)

Hi! Really neat ship... One question - how do you use the docking control? is it an autopilot? not sure how to make it work. Thanks for the great designs! Very nicely done...

Thanks Oiller. I would guess it has to do with the span between drills. When mining I would advise swinging back and forth slightly (side to side) to make sure there isn't a small spike of asteroid being left as you advance forward which could impact the cockpit and destroy it. Thanks for checking it out and letting me know what happened!

Had an issue with the ship and wanted to let you know somehow when mining if you hit it just wrong while mining you can hit the cokpit and destroy it happened 2 times to me already not sure how i did it, just done it more then once. other then that i like the look and feel of it.
