It looks like you used the same planet I did in Space Engine to make my atmospheric skybox. Though to be fair it's because it's in the default shortcut menu.

Not like it matters since planets are now in game.

@ thepandoraguy87: thanks! I think this is actually a common thing that happens depending on the skybox. I felt like designing aircraft, and it would look weird if they were in space, so I went with a skybox that would look the par. Plus, sometimes a chance in design themes is very welcome. Glad you liked the skybox, and feel free to make suggestions :D

@ Skippy: it really, I'm curious Asti what that might be, hope you like the skybox

Its always interesting how the building style changes for me when i use a skybox like this. Spaceships turn into planes, VTOL`s and blimps and stations turn into sky platforms and helicarrier. Dont know if its just me or a common phenomenon :D. Good work, that planet is lush indeed.

[ ]Folienbasilisk, don't worry not feeling pressured or anything, I'm actually happy to look at ways to get the skyboxes working, and help is always a welcome thing :D

PairedPrototype, yeah, I have noticed that no one has updated their skyboxes to DX11, we can "blame" Keen for that. Everyone's waiting for Keen to fix DX11 support for skyboxes so that they'll work just like the current DX9 skyboxes. I may update mine with a quick tut for anyone who really wants to use a current skybox with DX11 enabled. Also, I always keep extra copies lying around, so I'm covered there :3

No one else seems to have updated their Skyboxes to DX11 so you'll be the first! Woop :D

Also I forgot to meantion, updates to the game are likely to replace the Skybox with the original so be sure to keep a copy of it elsewhere so you can copy it back till DX11 support is here. :)

Thanks, I'll check out the YT vid and I'll see about possibly updating the skyboxes. Awesome on getting it to work PairedPrototype, I knew of that method of updating the skybox, but dont really mention it. Hopefully Keen can get around to fixing DX11 support for skybox mods without having to replace the original and such

I found how to use this Skybox anway. It's great BTW, thanks! :) Just move the orginal skybox out and put this one in, rename it and bingo! Works for me.

There is an official tutorial on how to convert DX9 textures to DX11, according to the comments its rather easy and not much work either. Here is the link:

Hey guys, not 100% sure on a DX11 version will be available, still trying to figure it out/searching for a way to make it DX11 compatible/a fix from Keen since apparently skyboxes don't seem to work with DX11. I'll post an update as soon as DX11 support is out!

Are you still left with the default background?

If so, are you playing using DX11? If you are playing using DX11, then the mod won't work yet ):

I create my world, in creative, then I check the mod, I generate it and the planet doesn't appear :(
