That is a good argument you posed; I guess I went "all or nothing" on cost XD
Also, I'd hold off on changing anything major until the ship collisions are not so wonky :P

Thank you for the help Whiplash! The first designs where very similar to yours regarding the use of blast doors, and what you say is right.The reason I decided on light armor is the amount of resources needed to build one projectile, as this design seemed to me the best compromise between cost and effect. I'm always wiling to revise and update though, I'll start testing new designs :)

Howdy! I'm glad to see I could serve as inspiration :)

In regards to this projectile: I feel that using non deformable blocks (like, say, blast doors) would net you more consistent results and better penetration. Also, you want the projectile to be as heavy as possible so that you can impart maximum kinetic energy into the target. For this reason I feel that you should replace the light armour with heavy to permit the round to withstand moderate point defence and still deal reasonable damage to targets :)
