If anyone has trouble with the mod: open its folder, edit CircuitIsolator.lua, search for "wait for circuits", replace "2.5" by "10" in the selected line.

This mod still runs perfectly fine on PA update 17, just to let ppl know.
If you can't get it to work then pay attention to how you do your wires...

I've not changed it since 2015 - if it's broken, something in the game changed, not the mod. Like I said in comment below, I quit PA because it has too many bugs and devs attitude was cavalier.

I won't be updating this mod - I don't play PA any more as I got tired of the lack of bug fixing by game devs. Feel free to create a fixed version and upload (let me know and I'll post link to fixed version for others to find).

This could be the most awesome mod ever. I use it for extreme redundancy in hi/super-max blocks. Two groups Gen1+Gen1Backup :: Gen2+Gen2Backup
Gives you 4 powerstations, primary group with backup and backupgroup with backup.
3 Generators can fail and you still have power.

Hmm dosent seem to work :( when doing as showed in the video, my backup generator dosent kick in :(

I cannot seem to get this to work in my game. Is it compatible with the latest version of PA? Or am I just doing it wrong? (I can't wire anything to the Circuit Isolator)

For those who have problem wiring. Add a camera in the room or send a staff in and lock the door behind while wireing. Works good to me. Nice mod. A must for fire proof prison.

That's actually a bug in the modding system itself. Only a small number of mods can be active at a time before the game starts mixing up their sprites; this has been reported to IV multiple times but unfortunately they are not interested in fixing it (or the other 9000+ bugs that reamain in their bug tracker). You can sometimes minimise the issues by altering the order in which mods are loaded, but ultimately if you have more than a handful of mods active you are guaranteed to run in to this issue with sprites.

A conflict appeared with the basic doors. The doors began to have textures of that mod. After I truned off the mood the doors returned to their normal condition.

I'd love to add that but the modding system is horribly broken when it comes to power-related stuff at the moment; there's no way currently to even determine if an object has power yet alone how much power is being drawn, etc. :(

As someone who's worked on electrical power/control stuff IRL: nicely done with the ATS! (Automatic transfer switch.) One idea too would be a power alarm - basically if you are pulling too much power (flashing indicator) or above a preset level it sets off an audible alarm.

Ah, 'fog of war' - if you go in to utilities mode and use the connections tool from it's menu that should allow you to connect them even if the room is blacked out.

the problem was that the cabinets were in rooms with no sight in them. so i could not see the hook up points without line of sight

I've been able to hook the wires up half way across the map. If you keep getting problems, please share your prison to steam workshop and post the link and I'll take a look and see if I can work out what's going wrong. Note that you have to link up to the indicators on top, not the cabinet doors.

@lare290 yes, you can use logic circuits in vanilla game but it's a PITA and doesn't have the flashing lights of great justice.

Thank you for making this beacuse with alpah 36 (i think?..) power plants can blow up or catch fire and when the power gose out my sevros stop working and my workman cant reach the power plant to fix it sorry about my bad english
