Roger that, thx!

@Solon
Please check out my TWC thread here and I guess it could help.

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?699714

There is a section for modders:

"Information for modders about how to adapt the fix to your mod"
Solon 17 Apr, 2024 @ 11:52am
Swiss Halberdier, may I ask that you update this mod, so I can figure where I made a mistake in my modded version of MK1212AD. I was able to play-test in custom battles up until about a fortnight passed. Pretty certain it was a minute change that I failed to journal "oh, let's see what this does!" that buggered custom battles for me.

@The.World.is.Yours
You don't need to activate the mod while your playing the campaign. It doesn't affect campaign gameplay, so it must be another mod which conflicts and freezes.
The.World.Is.Yours 15 May, 2021 @ 1:19am
@Swiss Halberdier
Your mod running well in campaign because i always freeze when end turn and battle
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 15 May, 2021 @ 1:07am
@The.World.is.yours
It still works fine. It just shows out-of-date as I didn't updated the mod anymore after the last Mod-Launcher Update.
The.World.Is.Yours 11 May, 2021 @ 9:09pm
please update
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 6 Apr, 2021 @ 2:32am
@Kerovanka
Yes but for a campaign this mod isn't needed.
Kerovanka 3 Apr, 2021 @ 6:19am
same mod for GK?
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 3 Apr, 2021 @ 1:41am
@Kerovanka
It is only for custom battle. But you can leave it activated while playing the campaign, but it doesn't do anything in the campaign.
Kerovanka 30 Mar, 2021 @ 9:13am
its only for custom battle or GK too? Are you the same mod for GK?
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 16 Sep, 2020 @ 8:23am
@Shiba Inu
It still works fine. It just shows out-of-date as I didn't updated the mod anymore after the last Mod-Launcher Update.
Bernard Bonsu 15 Sep, 2020 @ 10:55pm
it's out of date now.
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 13 Sep, 2020 @ 2:03am
@warofcard
It depends on this:

- If you use a mod which changes/includes the important database table factions, then this mod isn't compatible with this fix. Big overhaul mods or gameplay changing mods include this table. The modder of this mod can of course adapt this fix into his mod.

Rise of Mordor is a big overhaul mod which normally includes this special table. And its a complete overhaul with another time frame (Lord of the Rings). I guess my mod doesn't work with it.
Monkelord 12 Sep, 2020 @ 4:36am
can it work with rise of mordor mod?
SaracenBear 28 Jun, 2020 @ 2:20pm
Thanks man!
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 1 Jun, 2019 @ 12:14am
@mohibullahmsyed
Great that it works now.

Yes I created a small tutorial on Total War Center about how to customize unit packs. This can be used of course also to adapt other mods.

[Tutorial] How to customize unit packs
https://wiki.twcenter.net/index.php?title=How_to_customize_Unit_Pack_Mods

Unit stats values are in the database table "land_units_tables". Cost/upkeep values are in the database table "main_units_tables".
SaracenBear 31 May, 2019 @ 11:50pm
@Swiss_Halberdier

It works now. I downloaded the Custom Battle Fix Mod. Did you happen to know an easy way to edit unit stats in Attila, like attack, defense, etc., as well as allow units to be apart of other factions?

Thanks man!
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 9:17pm
@mohibullahmsyed
Yes the Medieval 1212AD is a big and complete overhaul of the game and it uses the important database table "factions" which my mod uses too. So yes it is not compatible with this overhaul, but all modders are allowed to use my fix in their own work of course. I created a tutorial on my TWC thread how to implement my fix to every mod.
SaracenBear 30 May, 2019 @ 11:55pm
This isn't working with my Mediecal 1212AD Mod. The Custom Battle will open with this, but it's the original game's selection, not the mod's
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 26 May, 2019 @ 2:18am
@PapuGongo
Nice that my mod is useful to so many players! Have fun!
PapuGongo 25 May, 2019 @ 4:06am
you are a fucking genius
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 26 Mar, 2019 @ 3:09am
The new Mod launcher for Rome 2, Attila and Thrones of Britannia has still some bugs. If you experience problems with the new launcher, then you can subscribe to the old Mod launcher again.

STEAM > Library > Total War Game > Options > Betas > choose "launcher_release_candidate"

If you want to use later again the new launcher, then do the same process and choose > Betas > NONE - unsubscribe from all betas
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 5:05am
CA rolled out a new launcher for Attila.

Here are the detailed infos:
https://www.totalwar.com/blog/welcome-to-the-new-total-war-launcher

It's recommended that you put the Attila Custom Battle Crash Fix as high as possible in the loading order of the new launcher.

@Ganniix
Great that this worked! This hint is useful for basically all TW games if something is strange or crashes the Custom Battle Screen.

As this crash isn't related to my mod, instead to entries which can't be loaded anymore by the Custom Battle Screen if mods change somehow or are removed.
๖ۜGaiNo 4 Mar, 2018 @ 10:19am
@Swiss Halberdier i renamed the battle preference folder and it worked. Thanks for the help.
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 4 Mar, 2018 @ 10:12am
@Ganniix
You could try to solve it this way:

If the custom battle screen crashes, then please remove all files in these two folders below.

C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Attila\battle_preferences

C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Attila\army_setups

Crash of the game:

If your game crashes you could re-download changed "vanilla" files and verify the integrity of the game:

> Open Steam > click on my games > right-click on Attila > left-click on properties > then look for the Local files tab and click on Verify the integrity of the game cache

There you can re-check the integrity of your Attila files. It takes some time, but after updating you have again all proper vanilla files.

Then re-activate the mods again.
๖ۜGaiNo 4 Mar, 2018 @ 5:57am
Okay for some idiotic reason my custom battle crashes with no mods at all. Bloody games and their poorly attended to creation
๖ۜGaiNo 4 Mar, 2018 @ 4:38am
For some reason it doesnt work anymore. Im using the same mods when it was working.
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 16 Feb, 2018 @ 7:14am
I just uploaded again the mod because of the new Attila launcher update. That it doesn't show anymore the "outdated" status. But there weren't any changes in the file.
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 17 Jul, 2017 @ 3:06pm
@Herbivore
Thanks!
Yes unfortunately this bug is in both Rome 2 and Attila.
Ball-Stabbing Emmanuel McCoy 17 Jul, 2017 @ 1:42pm
I can't believe half the mods for this game just fix the damn thing
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 11 Jul, 2016 @ 5:14am
Ev'e: Yes it would be very easy to integrate this fix for the official Warhammer modders. I made a clear tutorial and hopefully someone does it. As I'm not interested in the TW Warhammer franchise.
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 4 Jul, 2016 @ 1:47am
Frosted Noodles: Yes it shouldn't be that hard for a Warhammer modder. The fix could be similar to the Rome 2 or Attila fix. I made a tutorial here for all modders.

http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?699714-Attila-Custom-Battle-Crash-Fix

Thanks and have a nice start of the week too!
Frostღ 4 Jul, 2016 @ 1:35am
Yeah :P Kinda weird.. since the modding base is huge.. wonder how nobody has asked about this that much. And thankyou so much :) Would be awesome if you would get somebody to it, but understand if u cant since u dont have the game, have a nide start of the week :)
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 4 Jul, 2016 @ 1:25am
Frosted Noodles: That's really bad that it happens in Warhammer too and CA didn't fix this issue which is there since Rome 2. As I don't have Warhammer, I can't even look at the database files to see if the fix could be applied easily. I will ask around my modding friends if someone can help with this fix.
Frostღ 4 Jul, 2016 @ 1:21am
I get it when i have lots of unit mods :P didnt get it before so im pretty sure its the same problem as before :://
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 4 Jul, 2016 @ 1:19am
Frosted Noodles: I didin't bought Warhammer and I don't do any modding in the TW Warhammer franchise. Very bad if this crash happens there too. Did you get the crash while activating many unit packs? Or is it just a pre-question from you if it's possible to do it?
Frostღ 1 Jul, 2016 @ 5:15am
Hello, is this possible to be made for Warhammer total war too :P I know im annoying and asking it for 3 seperate games.. but you guys are the only ones who make this mod, and it always works :D So hoping u could do it for warhammer also
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 3 May, 2016 @ 12:36am
Dornar: No it doesn't fix "normal" crashes which Attila produces. Just the crash in the custom battle screen if you have loaded too many unit pack mods together.
Dornar 30 Apr, 2016 @ 7:54am
does this work for the 'attila has stopped working' crash on windows?
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 23 Mar, 2016 @ 11:01am
p.tedisco: Perfect! A long way to go it seems and I gave you every "trick" I know. :-D
Aquila_Nera 21 Mar, 2016 @ 12:35pm
Thanks, I tried deleting everything that was in the AppData folder, and finally the game works! :)
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 21 Mar, 2016 @ 8:16am
p.tedisco:

Try to delete all files in these two folders:

C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Attila\army_setups
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Attila\battle_preferences
Aquila_Nera 11 Mar, 2016 @ 11:58am
thanks for the help, but unfortunately the game keeps crashing on custom battle even after doing what you told me.. :/
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 11 Mar, 2016 @ 3:12am
p.tedisco: If you don't use any unit packs and any other mods you don't need my mod here.

You could try the following:

- unsubscribe my mod

If your game crashes you could also re-download changed "vanilla" files and verify the integrity of the game:

> Open Steam > click on my games > right-click on Attila > left-click on properties > then look for the Local files tab and click on Verify the integrity of the game cache

There you can re-check the integrity of your Attila files. It takes some time, but after updating you have again all proper vanilla files.

- re-subscribe my mod
Aquila_Nera 11 Mar, 2016 @ 1:10am
I state that I have installed the fix mod, but the game keeps crashing as soon as I click on costum battle. I have not installed any mods, since I downloaded the game for a few days. With Rome II I had no problem, so not sure what's wrong
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 25 Feb, 2016 @ 12:30pm
Thanks Paranoid ;-) Yes it was crucial as otherwise the game would crash.
Frostღ 25 Feb, 2016 @ 11:21am
Thaaaaaaaaaaanks.. :D fast working :) nice
Swiss Halberdier  [author] 25 Feb, 2016 @ 11:13am
I updated the mod to the last patch and new DLC from today. It is fully compatible with the latest patch and all DLCs (25.2.16).
