If someone can just figure out how to animate canal locks that actually function... that would be epic.

This looks awesome and I'd love to use it. But, I can't figure out how to place it against a road as required . . . but still have my canal continue if that makes sense. The road it seems I have to place blocks the canal. Of course, it's my error. Can anyone explain? Thx!

Why is this power hungry? Locks use very little energy because Earth's gravity does all the work.

Can you make a working shipping canal lock that lets the large container ships and passenger ships through. That would be awesome. Perhaps its something the Devs should do.

i used them for the first time and love them the lower water part will actually fill with moving water absolute fantastic

I'm subscribed to all the necessary assets and mods but this does not show up in my parks menu. Any ideas?

@ Jobro: I'm planning to add the corners from the US version to the EU version, that way you won't need any extra parts. :)

@GCVos: Just subscribed to your sea walls. Cracking assets, you really did make a superb job of it. Can't wait to use it in game. :D

If its not too much to ask, would it be possible for you to make versions for corners and sharp edges etc?

i have try make like u on the screen piture but the the kostline will not make it right rather its go to hih or its go to low an there is a big blå wal in the end of the cannal if i just could start a map whit the bordwalk and the cannal beginng it will be a big help kinda frustation for me to get its fix

@ EEYE: What can't you get to work? The thing doesn't do the terraforming for you, you will have to do that yourself. ;)

There's some options to have an asset flatten to a certain height, though I haven't personally experimented with it, I know Badpeanut did some prototype canal sections which I think did just that. Something I might look into at some point, but have a ton of other stuff I want/need to work on first...

GCVos, I have a idea.
You know terraforming tool, ok?
If you make a way to create a thin and tall wall (mountain wall).
And be able to toggle that wall (create/delete) (spawn/remove) on mouse click ?
Think in have no pieces ploppable, just terraforming?
You know CTRL Z in MAP editor? You create a mountain and hit CTRL Z and then it vanishes.
Then the water phisics does the magic.

@ Deswart: Glad you like them, thank you! All assets were regrouped and moved to the back of the menu. There's a bug right now causing the last few items to not always show up, which will hopefully be resolved after the next update.

@ Jobro: Yeah, the walls are gonna be published soon. :)

@ Elliot: I've always used Gimp alongside max, my textures are mostly photosourced from my own library. If I need stuff i don't already have I will use CGtextures or goodtextures. Then I use a number of programs for baking specs and normals, depending on the situation.

If I may, would it be possible for you to make sea walls? Proper Sea Walls that connect and which you can plop a functioning road on top? Like the ones you have as your canal wall.

I'm a great fan of these canal assets, they look absolutely amazing!
However, for some reason some of these, including this one doesn't show up in my park list, I'm subscribed, just like with the rest, which are working. But these and quite a few other don't show up in my game...

@ Baleur: Possibly I can make a 'canal' version of the wall blocks, so just one asset with walls on boths sides. Similar to 16x4 but wider. Still having standalone walls is a lot more flexible and also more easy for me to create.

@ Elliot: Probably not any time soon, I still have a lot of other content I'm working on. But I like the idea!

I'm talking about doing it the same way this police gate station was made, just so you get my idea. Basically just have some central model floating offset from the actual zone placement.

But i mean, what about this.
What about if you just make a version of your canal wall, where the model for the wall prop has a little central piece offset to the side (so essentially it is floating off to the side "in free space"). With the gates connecting it.

That way. One could construct a canal lock for free flowing water this way (naturally the gates wouldnt block the water, but it would at least allow dynamic water to just flow through the entire model).

Right side, one places a normal Canal wall, your previous asset.
Left side, one places the new Canal wall + central wall floating piece, with gates connecting to it.
Everything in the middle between those two canal walls would of course just be visual noclip models the water just flows right through, but it would be fine, it would still look as if there is a central wall with gates.

@ Baleur: No that will never happen. It would be up to CO or other modders to develop a proper network for that. Way out of my league I'm not even gonna try.

These walls are new static ones, they are not entirely ready yet but I hope to finish them in the next week or so.

The map I'm working on is just completely flat and empty, all terraforming done manually. The city is horribly experimental with bad zoning everywhere so i won't be sharing it any time soon. I might start working on a new map/city once I'm satisfied with all the assets involved.
