Amazing mod. I was playing checkpoint on Bhuriz, sitting in the little radio tower with a 249 covering my team's advance. I could really tell the difference this mod makes when Insurgent RPKs started laying down fire on my position. It was terrifying. 10/10 good mod, would be cool if you could add more weapon sounds, but I'm sure finding good sounds from war footage could be difficult to get them to match eachother in quality.

Also your realistic bullet cracks mod is the most realistic out of all 3 or 4 mods that exist now ;)

Can't wait for more weapons ;) I absolutely LOVE to bits every mod that uses real life recording sounds. About all the other mods (except for like 2) sound like hollywood shit. Most guns have a loud thunk after you shoot them, like an echo, which about no game developer ever hears. Every gun just goes "PEW PEW" in games nowadays -_-

Negative, only if both players (shooter and target/spectator) are on the extremes of those maps. With the actual delay between the crack and the firing on this mod, if it was in reality, the shooter would be about 400 yards from you. This surpasses most limits on most maps (including hills, buildings etc.).

@Voraz

Thanks for the feedback. I was'nt too sure about the delay between the crack and the shot myself, i guess you've cleared that up for me. I tried to replicate the sounds from the videos that I recorded them from which had real gunshots, so they are 'realistic' in that sense but not in terms of physics. Would you say the delay is alright on maps like Sinjar where they shoot from the hilltop? That was the effect i was going for.

PS.: The delay between the firing and the supersonic crack make it sound like the shooter is extremely far away for the game's environment, like if he is at 800 metres away. That delay has to be much, much smaller, I mean, the supersonic needs to happen almost instantly before the firing.

This is totally not realistic. 1º - Your sound samples are bad. If you study Physics, you'll see that the weapon sounds extremely muffled and pop when at that distance (based on the delay between the supersonic crack and the shot). 2º - I've tried this on my ACE2 CSMP before, with extremely realistic sound samples (RPK distant shots, for example), but it wasn't actually realistic, Source Engine has it's limits and there are not physical projectiles on this game, they have instant ballistic. 3º - When I mean bad sound samples, you have two choices to change them: - Change the distant shots to match the actual delay between the crack and the shot, that means, make them muffled and pop, without much echo. - Change the supersonic crack to match the Source limitations, that means, make the supersonic crack happen with the shot (make them sound the same).

@swei_la98 " My biggest challenge however is finding a good video source for recording high quality sounds that arent't muffled or interrupted by another sound" You should check out World Conflict Films on youtube. Funker530 Afghanistan combat footage. There are tons out there you just have to look.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. I will definately be adding more sounds in the future and making minor tweaks here and there. My biggest challenge however is finding a good video source for recording high quality sounds that arent't muffled or interrupted by another sound. In the meantime, I will continue to corrupt my search history with middle-eastern conflict videos in search for the perfect shot.

i hear the crack of the bullet's passing, and the thump of the supersonic crack of the other soundwave that comes up behind the bullet, and i think then the actual gunfire. this one's a good one, but may be a bit of a doozy for me since i may just hear "gunfire" and go nuts thinking im under fire from 3 machineguns at once XD
