The small gatling gun on the left side is broken. It works but it is broken. Every time I fire, the barrel spins in a continuous 360 clockwise rotation while also damaging the ship it is placed on.

to all those wondering if this still works, it does, and its still in every world I create. even with all the new weapon mods out there, you cant beat a gatling turret broadside

Oh mans chief, don't give up, you don't have to overwork yourself for this mod, just do it when you want and have fun doing it~ Testing explosives is fun~

First I don't want anyone to assume I'm asking the creator of this mod to get back into modding at the present, I simply wish to relay a bit of information for when/if they get back into modding.

The issue I have is that the Vulcan minigun cannon for small and large ships isnt making any firing sounds. Just a heads up is all. :) (Don't know if this applies to the standalone Vulcan minigun mod of yours though)

Hey Ravenbolt, I've been working on a weapon overhaul for SE for a while now, but I've neared the end of what I can accomplish with just the vanilla variety. I was wondering if you'd let me use your models (with full credit of course) for rounding out my own mods variety.

Amplenickel 150+ mods... from different authors, you do know the basics of modding right you have to add codes for the Items and blocks meaning there is no way you have 150 mods on and NOT have any compatability issues.

KitsuneSamurai - My main creative "blank slate" world that I start building all my ships in (use same world so I always have my mods and settings already loaded) and I literally have 150+ mods in the world from dozens of authors. I guess you're right you are a bit odd (haha) cause I don't really think there's any downfalls. But yeah that world takes like 7-8 minutes to load and the first time I open the G menu it takes like 45 seconds or more. Once I get to cruiser ship size it lags to like 20-30 fps instead of 50-60. And it's the game optimization cause at that point I will get the same fps whether it's 1080p or downsampled 4k. But that's cause of the number of mods not because they're from different authors. Cause it runs fine at the beginning. Cheers. Don't know why I wanted to share that.

I've always been a sucker for consistency and vanilla-looking models, so these are a great alternative to the weapons I've been using, which I've been wanting to drop because the author no longer supports them (and the only reason I use them, really, I can do with the gun fire control script now, with more compact layouts using than I could get through the mod). I'm also a bit odd in that I prefer to get as many mods from a single author as I can rather than having a patchwork of dozens of mod sources, and your mods have since replaced mods from 4 different authors I was using. ^.^

Well if you do, is it possible to make a Compact "Hellfire" Like launcher?
With even more Rocket Chambers in the model and a very very high fire rate? Like a Gatling Gun, but with Rockets. More damage than gatling, but higher cost for the rockets ^^
As large as the other Rocket Launchers for the small ships in this mod right here. Would loooooove that *_*

and if you dont, which program do you use to create these mods?

- Reduced the hight of the collisionbox for the small ship turrets from 5 to 3.

Generally planes don't suffer from too much recoil thanks to being so heavy but it would fit if it pushed you back a few times more as a tiny debuff if you fire too long - to make up for less spread by making you a more vulnerable target.
You could also make it heavier or give it a power drain for the electric motor similar to a rotor. Maybe tool shake in place of spread if that's a thing - whatever you think works best.

Even with modded max speed I don't find it common to get that close in combat except with the silly pirate drones and fighters. Cargo ships are dangerous at much greater distance with their lazer vision turrets.
The large version isn't going to be attacking tiny things, but on the same point unless you're a rammer your not going to be flying circles around them either.
I figure bite down a little on the spread and make the ammunition more expensive in survival so it's kind of a 'power weapon' if you can pay for it. The real A-10 Warthog (or other CAS) burns through all it's ammo in a few seconds but there's not much it can't kill. Cannons are generally for longer range work and the barrels on this thing are about 1m long, so it should be pretty tight.

@Derps I can't do anything about the turret targetting issues. I have only modified the model.

About the gatlings, I want the cannon to have a big spread since the rate of fire is higher. (Is it too much spread?) It is alot more deadly up-close.

Picked up yesterday, two things noticed;
First is a bug where the compact turrets small turrets on occasion simply stop engaging targets right in front of them even with avalible ammunition. Had a ship with two of each and half of them just stopped firing while the others continued to function. Ship took no damage.
Second is an observation during testing; Gatling cannon and the vanilla gatling gun (Small ship) fired side by side don't compare past 100m. The cannon's spread makes it very difficult to actually damage a single block, the damage just spreads over the whole target and nothing gets destroyed - just dents everywhere. They're awesome, but to do any damage I've gotta throw four of them on and burn ammo like a fothermucker or get in close and be torn appart by capial ship defences.
The models all look fantastic and so far everything else has checked out and worked perfectly.
