Yeah honestly to me this all sounds like another "scandal" or just the standard attention grab that got to meme status. Literally nothing in this is objectionable. +1 for originally pagan holiday. I don't even celebrate it for a reason but come on. People should really get their bullshit together and look at real problems instead of making up issues/falling for made-up "first-world problems" like this probably is.
Then again I haven't met one person yet who says it's objectionable, the only thing I've "seen" is actually hearing people complaining about the 'people who are complaining', and most of the hate stems from Facebook/Twitter/generic social media which for all I know is inherently cancerous and sells out for the highest bidder. I'm starting to see a pattern here.
