i agree that the freeway should be redone it was wanky at best the way you could connect to it
i would suggest to keep the mountain , the freeway has to be redone ,on the ground level well you perhaps smooth it a bit more (just to make sure you can at least zone the places nice and easy) ,for the trees you could put them scattered everywhere in descent size chunck in the middle of map (since i think there is the northern waste that are chaos ground with no life what so ever (also if you could find a way to make both the far north and south harder to colonise that would make things iterresting)).
what do you think
The ground pattern has got me too in a couple of places. Not sure where it's coming from as the brushes used we're nicely feathered. Will look into it.
The trees I tried to keep close to Warhammer maps. The island has a bunch of trees around the starting location and some to the north, but Warhammer maps don't list much else. Artistic license could provide for a better game though.
The freeways in do suck, I agree. My first real attempts at freeways here and every game I've played I end up redoing most of it. Thinking of stripping everything but the first freeway into the starting area, letting the player do the rest.
Flooding can be an issue with the steep drop-off of those mountains. My first try water was here. Do you think I should thin the mountains out? It would make for a less true to Warhammer map, but would give more playable area in Cities...
the irrigular shape of the ground make it a bitch to have proper build emplacement
also i think you could have put a lot more forestry option to the map but all in all its pretty fare and there are massive opportunity to build dam and the like but the pipe work was hard to do and i won`t speak of the flood
i give it a 3.5 on 5 on the starting option
2 on 5 for the road networking and pipping systeme (including the floodings)
and a overall of 7 on 10
I've tried doing the old world a few times, but it always comes out kinda normal. Ulthuan is definitely the most interesting to map model from Warhammer.
thx to bring the map to this awesome game
