I like the simple design and the dual wheel look. Time to build a rover I think. Thanks for sharing your time and effort.

Any chance you could port this to Mod.io? We really need more mods on xbox...
kennet0508 15 May, 2022 @ 7:50am
Ahhh! That explains a lot, such a waste
nukeguard  [author] 13 May, 2022 @ 1:13pm
that bounce is due to the physics type they have on them and they're not smooth round, they are cylinders with sides
kennet0508 13 May, 2022 @ 3:07am
Yeah, weird how that happens in the span of 7 years :D
Im crossing my fingers, it would be a nice renewal of a hidden gem of a mod!
Now if only keen would fix the behaviour of non-suspension wheels so they dont bounce when attached to suspension wheels :steamfacepalm:
nukeguard  [author] 11 May, 2022 @ 5:10pm
I'll think about it, I'm not totally gone, life just changed :-)
kennet0508 10 May, 2022 @ 6:45pm
Btw @nukeguard! Your mod still works flawlessly, and i know you may not be updating or playing anymore, but i would love to se this mod work with the vanilla "offroad wheel suspenion" wheels aswell! (feature request <3) it makes some damn awesome tank threads
kennet0508 10 May, 2022 @ 3:03pm
Thank you for making this mod! i followed the comment section from the keen spotlight on the 8x8 Mars rover, now imma make something awesome with this!

@nukeguard Gotta ditto Johny's ask about the Wasteland DLC "offroad" wheels.
Erneder 23 Oct, 2021 @ 5:01am
My attachment points do not work, what should I do?
Johny 18 Oct, 2021 @ 12:47pm
Hiya, and thanks for the mod just wondering if there are any chances of getting this to work for the DLC "offroad" wheels too?
nukeguard  [author] 4 Oct, 2021 @ 2:11pm
the mod author for those wheels would have to do that, or I'd have to get the subpart ids from that mod, which I don't know if that would even work right
Caramel 4 Oct, 2021 @ 8:50am
can you make this work with AR 7x7 wheel mod? please?
nukeguard  [author] 27 May, 2021 @ 6:00pm
thanks for report will check it out
Foraven 26 May, 2021 @ 4:12pm
Unfortunate but one of the latest update broke this mod. My game report some critical errors when I try to use it.
nukeguard  [author] 15 Apr, 2021 @ 5:01pm
Great!, I haven't checked it in a while
Mark F. Smith 15 Apr, 2021 @ 9:54am
This still works! Thank you so, so very much.
Rysten 8 Nov, 2019 @ 10:14pm
@nukeguard, Any idea how to "soften" the suspension more? I found this mod and am trying to use it to make a recoiling rotor turret. It is only kicking it back ~1/6 of the maximum travel distance though, even @ 0% strength... I am hesitant to increase recoil more as I don't want to damage rotors...
Hirnsausen 16 Jul, 2019 @ 2:38pm
Hmmm, difficult, I never did anything like that. Maybe i have to wait, until you or anyone else makes such a wheel. I believe, such large wheels will find many, many subscribers and can make famous. The only thing I would not change, is the thickness. But height and length (forward-backward) should be increased.
nukeguard  [author] 16 Jul, 2019 @ 2:35pm
No way to scale models through text editors, need another model made in 3d software with collisions
Hirnsausen 16 Jul, 2019 @ 2:32pm
Okay, thanks. I found a way to make wheels really small: mou8nting them on a large rotor#s small rotor head. The result is a stunning-looking, cute trike-alike off-world roadster, a quad that looks a bit like a trike

But back to my question: is there any text-based option to re-scale wheels, or do I have to go through 3D editors?
nukeguard  [author] 16 Jul, 2019 @ 5:58am
I'm am out of country atm, I have a 2x2 wheel mod.
Hirnsausen 14 Jul, 2019 @ 6:18am
Why not you add additional sizes to them, like 7x7, 10x10, 15x15?
Also needed; 1x1

Is it possible to scale up just the X and the Z axis, but keep the thickness of the wheel (Y) unchanged? And would such a re-scaling need a 3D editor, or can that be done by defining scaling values to the text file of a mod?

And there is one type of wheel that I want to suggest to you for a new mod. All regular wheels with a middle axis have necessarily a low ground clearance. There is a new type of wheel that was developed by NASA and is in discussion for planetary rovers. It has no middle axis but a mechanism along the upper area of the inner wheel frame that holds and propulses the wheel. Is there any way to have you look on a graphic that illustrates that mechanism?
Rev.Dr.MarinLutherKingJr.Blvd.St 5 Jun, 2019 @ 9:55am
That would be amazing, my heavy rover looks like a catapiller with down syndrom (apologies if anybody here suffers from that)
nukeguard  [author] 4 Jun, 2019 @ 4:59pm
would it work if I make another set of wheels that has double wheels on them, for all sizes?
Rev.Dr.MarinLutherKingJr.Blvd.St 4 Jun, 2019 @ 9:03am
What wheels should be used to get them to work?
nukeguard  [author] 2 Jun, 2019 @ 9:17pm
that is a problem with keens fixed wheels, they have a different collision type
Rev.Dr.MarinLutherKingJr.Blvd.St 31 May, 2019 @ 9:38am
Any chance of this getting an update? With doubles on my rover it tends to send the rear end all over the place...
nukeguard  [author] 15 Dec, 2017 @ 5:31am
yes is still
dRuPpI 13 Dec, 2017 @ 7:43pm
is this still working since the new physics update?
nukeguard  [author] 13 Oct, 2017 @ 4:58pm
not really, you'd have to mod the component cost or add a tough component into anything you build on the wheel.
NorusTheFourth 13 Oct, 2017 @ 7:15am
Is there a way to make the wheels (or other things) attached to a wheel on a suspension less likely to break when hitting the ground?
nukeguard  [author] 24 Aug, 2017 @ 1:32pm
check change log for updates
Mikeangel 16 Jul, 2017 @ 12:52pm
I always felt that i should be able to build on the wheels.
nukeguard  [author] 11 Jul, 2017 @ 11:12am
I haven't checked this mod in a while, worked last I tried, will test again today
Captain_Nova_117 10 Jul, 2017 @ 10:59pm
it doesnt seem to work has it not been updated?

These are real-steel mount points. nukeguard Has Been Honored For The Extended Awesomeness Brought. Thank You nukeguard!!!:steamhappy:
SoulTechnology 11 May, 2016 @ 11:08am
wait... they removed the mountpoints? imean... i know its been while since ive messed with them but i musve not noticed?
Enngie1 28 Apr, 2016 @ 8:49am
Thank you ! I wanted to unninstall the game when they removed this :( i didnt ofc. But now im super happy :D its kinda escential when it comes to rear wheels on a truck/buss etc. double wheels just make it look so mutch better :D

daemonreaver 28 Feb, 2016 @ 12:16pm
YAY! finally, I can change a tire in survival without grinding down half the vehicle! THANK YOU.
Tangent 28 Feb, 2016 @ 7:55am
Aw snap I can put the Boudicears back on my truck now. Awesome.
nukeguard  [author] 26 Jan, 2016 @ 6:38am
yes, would be nice of them to put that back into the game
SEModder4  [developer] 25 Jan, 2016 @ 3:45pm
Such a stupid decision by keen to remove the mount points. Glad to see you kept them so we could build things off the wheels. :D
Quattro 18 Jan, 2016 @ 9:23pm
finally i can try to make a little motorcycle again thank you
shadow onion 15 Jan, 2016 @ 10:15am
when the mounts were removed i was trying to use wheels to mount mech legs on so the move using a similar style to steam train wheels
nukeguard  [author] 15 Jan, 2016 @ 9:30am
glad I could help.

@FS, there are real wheels (the steerable/drivable ones) and the normal wheels (place on anything) I just added the mountpoints back onto the real wheels, so you can place extra wheels on them or build large armor wheels, or do whatever a space engineer would do.
shadow onion 15 Jan, 2016 @ 8:18am
thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
