In fact, I think you putting adware in your mod might even be against steam workshop or steam terms of services or something. Think you're actually breaking rules by putting adware in your mod.

In that specific instance, the developers overrode textures that existed elsewhere. This does not, This map has been out since 2016. Most mods these days are made *after* this one was.

there's been a city map that's files broke some things, one map I had made all my grey metal door textures default to the female developer door texture a while ago

Is there any way you could have just bound the ad to the map though? Because it happens when you launch a map that has nothing to do with your map. It doesn't make sense for it to be advertised when they're not even using your map.
