It's not working for WotC
nicky689 27 Nov, 2016 @ 12:12pm
To use parameters, just go to XCOM2, right click to properties then set launch options.
Element UK 12 Nov, 2016 @ 4:34am
At least tell us non-modders how to 'use the parameter'. It is not obvious to most of us
Coma Berenices 19 Sep, 2016 @ 11:28am
no effect
75338 10 Sep, 2016 @ 6:35pm
No work no more no woman no cry.
Gray Death 8 Aug, 2016 @ 4:54pm
Does not work anymore.
BlueRaja  [author] 21 Jul, 2016 @ 9:19am
@Plutia: You can set command-line parameters with the alternative mod launcher... but regardless, I will be looking into why this isn't working soon.
mimizukari 21 Jul, 2016 @ 7:48am
@Bloodshed
you must use the regular mod launcher... it's not good enough and doesn't sort properly. for those of us using a proper mod launcher we need this and this doesn't work.
mimizukari 21 Jul, 2016 @ 7:47am
does not work anymore...
ViperInfinity 30 May, 2016 @ 11:58am
Mod still does not work :(
RussischerZar 14 May, 2016 @ 6:17am
Same here. The mod doesn't seem to work anymore.
mammey 14 May, 2016 @ 2:24am
The mod refuses now to work. More to the point, it is that way scince yesterday. Must be the patch / DLC. I did unsubscribe / subscribe, started the game, played a bit, left XCOM2, started it again (and tried this a couple of times more, scince I was searching a mod causing freeze frames) and everytime I get the full intro.
Cyph 19 Mar, 2016 @ 11:07am
External mod launchers can't use -nostartupmovies so this mod is still necessary. Better than editing ini file each time we wipe out the config files.
BloodShed 13 Mar, 2016 @ 9:59am
This mod is totally unnecessary.

Just start the game with -nostartupmovies
Element UK 12 Mar, 2016 @ 2:37am
I'm suprised nobody has made a 'No Dropship Cutscene' mod yet
Quvano 10 Mar, 2016 @ 1:37pm
Verifying game file cache did not work. However the following did:

- Unsubscribe from mod in Steam
- Launch game then quit
- Resubscribe in Steam
- Launch Game
- Activating the mod in the launch menu
- Click on Play
- Quit game
- Launch again

At that point the mod began working. It is possible one or more steps are unncessarry but that is what I had to do.

I am having a similar issue with other mods (though not all) and will try the same with them.

I also see the movies after the patch. I've restarted a couple of times to no avail. I am currently verifying game files cache and will post back if it resolves it.
Element UK 10 Mar, 2016 @ 12:59pm
yeah read that
BlueRaja  [author] 10 Mar, 2016 @ 11:40am
@Element Xcom2: From the patch notes: "Required User Action: If you have mods enabled after installing the patch, launch it once, close the game, and launch it again. Players will only have to do this once. After the restart, the game will have initialized the patch to work with mods."
Element UK 10 Mar, 2016 @ 10:18am
patch messed it up
IceMaverick 2 Mar, 2016 @ 12:30pm
Apologies, the non-similar handles led me to not knowing :P But thanks for making the information concisely available so that others can be informed.
BlueRaja  [author] 2 Mar, 2016 @ 12:25pm
@IceMaverick: I wrote that post, so yes I'm aware of it :)
IceMaverick 2 Mar, 2016 @ 12:19pm
Hey. I'm posting for broadcasting volume to mod authors I'm subbed to, in case this applies to you and you haven't yet fixed the Memory issues inherent to many mods due to a ModBuddy error: https://www.reddit.com/r/xcom2mods/comments/48c8v3/psavoicepacks_and_other_mods_to_a_lesser_extent/

Please double check if this bug in ModBuddy may apply to your mod to help modded X2 games run better.
冷月荆棘 2 Mar, 2016 @ 2:48am
good
BlueRaja  [author] 1 Mar, 2016 @ 10:51am
@dennis.danilov: Good news! Check out the mod made by IphStich and myself, Instant Avenger Menus
SievertChaser 1 Mar, 2016 @ 10:38am
@Jake: seconded, the globe animation makes me sick.
dkasper 25 Feb, 2016 @ 9:10pm
Would you consider uploading this mod to the Nexus? Thank you!
Xeon 17 Feb, 2016 @ 7:35am
Thx very...
Sandor_Toth 14 Feb, 2016 @ 1:25am
Thank you very much.
Arkan 12 Feb, 2016 @ 2:28pm
Well.. thanks for this mod anyways! :Owl:
foamcup 11 Feb, 2016 @ 5:20pm
Is this really necessary?
NeoAcario 10 Feb, 2016 @ 6:36pm
You don't need this mod to make loading saves harder. Just go to your Steam Library. Right click this game. Go to properties. Click on SET LAUNCH OPTIONS... enter this line: -nostartupmovies
Tyler 10 Feb, 2016 @ 9:15am
Hi, if you checked out to disable the startup movies you may found the ini entry to disable the bridge animation too. I am tired to see every time this white globe, comming closer and then sucked in. I want to to jump directly to the worldmap and start navigation. I would appreciate if someone have a clue how to disable it .
=M$= Dark Half 10 Feb, 2016 @ 8:20am
@BlueRaja but it is more reliable to edit the INIs your self its not like it is hard then rely on a steam workshop mod to do it for you i dont know if you know it but steam workshop has a very bad reputation when it comes to mod reliability compared to NMM Mod Organizer combined Nexusmods for a number of reasons the biggest is the auto update that steam workshop has in short gopher explained it well in his video "Mod Organizer #9 - Steam Workshop" Jump to 4:36 (link at the end) where he explains exactly why steam workshop is a bad idea it is a 2 year old video but as far as i noticed auto update is still enabled so the video is still accurate in short if you have multiple mods from Nexus mods and / or workshop and they all work fine toghether one mod can be updated and crash the entire game since workshop do not allow you to use older versions and there is a profile issue as well https://youtu.be/C9oA-nsj4VY?t=4m36s
l0rdw00t 10 Feb, 2016 @ 1:37am
NIce one :)
KZOR 10 Feb, 2016 @ 12:31am
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Scotty 9 Feb, 2016 @ 9:26pm
@Tarthor because we'll be playing this game a lot and we don't need to seem them every single time
addicted to quack 9 Feb, 2016 @ 4:09pm
I really dont understand. Can someone explain to me why everyone wants to skip the opening movie?
Meier 9 Feb, 2016 @ 1:13pm
Thanks, saves me the time for doing it manually.
Snæbjørn 9 Feb, 2016 @ 1:03pm
There is a launch option that does this without deleting .bik files or changing the ini config.

-nostartupmovies
pimpingbunny 9 Feb, 2016 @ 8:10am
Love this mod, but it will makes 2K sad . lol
BlueRaja  [author] 8 Feb, 2016 @ 9:33pm
About half of the mods on the workshop are simple ini edits. The point is to be able to enable them with the push of a button, rather than having to muck around in configuration files.
Agent707 8 Feb, 2016 @ 9:22pm
@ =M$= Dark Half
It's actually XComEngine.ini file, not XComGame.ini
But the settings are right.
LostDragonist 7 Feb, 2016 @ 4:48pm
Or you can use the launch option "-nostartupmovies".
=M$= Dark Half 7 Feb, 2016 @ 4:15pm
You dont really need a mod for this simply go to Documents My Games XCOM2 XComGame Config and open the Xcomgame.ini and Ctrl-f "startupmovies" and delete these 5 lines

StartupMovies=X2_2KFXS_Logos
StartupMovies=X2_Logo
StartupMovies=UE3TechLogo_XC2
StartupMovies=XC2_LegalScreen
StartupMovies=Black
MrFrengLitch 7 Feb, 2016 @ 12:46pm
Okay so, either the lastest version fixed it or you actually have to load a save in order to make it work.

Anyway, works now! Thanks!
Thomas Gunn 7 Feb, 2016 @ 12:01pm
It doesn't work. Restarted game after installing mod, but still, not working.
tjvelcro 7 Feb, 2016 @ 10:03am
Works just like he said! Saves 10 seconds or so every time and with a game with tons of mod potential it can save some time!
Iron Dice 7 Feb, 2016 @ 9:36am
Works exactly as he says. Start once, it fails. Quit. Start again and the movies are gone! You are a goddam hero, sir. Thanks!
BlueRaja  [author] 7 Feb, 2016 @ 7:57am
@Xeon and others: Please try with the latest version.
