This mod is outdated. I cant even update it. For the updated version check here. It works with the new DLC armors https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=621630722

Im having an issue where my gifted can't equip ANY armor, no even the kevlar. Any thoughts?

so my psi animations arent playing is that being worked on or what. just started a mod run and this is the only mod relating to psi units in my game that im unfimiliar with using. havent gotten to real psi units yet so i dont know if it happens to them or not.

No problem :) Im a big Xcom fan so i will make damn sure everyone enjoys their game and doesnt loose their hard earned saves.

I also posted about this on the mod forum so other authors should be able to avoid this mistake :steamhappy:

Thanks Pegazul, tested again (restarted steam) and its all good :) if there´s an XCom workshop mod forum it might be worth sharing what you found out, as a PSA

Ok final update is done its back to psiclass and if you restart steam/refresh mods it should all work again. Sorry every one for the problems this may have caused im a bit of a noob and just wanted to share the mod i made as soon as possible :P still learning. The other new version will not be touched so its super safe. And once this one works again i will also leave it be :beatmeat:

I have the same problem. I can´t load my game because i haven´t got the (psi class), please change it back because i can´t play with my soldiers team that i did.

checked and nope :( can confirm it does have the old name (psi class) in the launcher now, but it still says missing "psiclass" mod when trying to load a save

When you changed the name of this mod (to inclunde the "check the update blah blah" bit) you have made old saves with your mod unloadable... can you change the name back?

Basically both the mods are the exact same, only one is called psiclass at the mod select and the other is called psi rookies. If you played with the psiclass mod the savefiles you made while using it require the psiclass mod to work. I think you could just install both since they litterally do the exact same thing to the game files so there should be no conflict. Or you could start a new save file with the new mod.

When I load a saved game I get "missing mod: Psiclass" I think the other newer version with thumbnail somehow screwed it up XD

@Jack thanks :) Currently the odds of a rookie becoming Gifted are the same as any other class including the first mission where the game tries to give you 1 of each. So a 20% chance. I think there might be a way to make them more rare but im not sure. I think keeping the odds as they are might be a good thing since if your Gifted soldier dies the only way to get another one is to promote rookies in combat which may be dificult in the later game :beatmeat:

Mate, if I had a thrid hand I would give this three thumbs up! Got a Psi op straight off the bat and loved it!

Never even used psi ops on my first play through because I hated the concept of them not leveling up in combat!

Quick question though, the percentage that a normal rookie can become one, is there anyway to lower it?? I mean, it wouldn't be as cool having them keep getting selected??

@Kly yes in the vanilla game from what i saw in the files you gain a "training credit" for every kill you get wich shortens the time they spend in training at the psi lab. Its still quite different from this mod.

They do level up during combat. If you get kills, the amount of time it takes to train each skill decreases.

Yes its 1 skill per rank (like normal soldiers) except at squaddie i think you get both stasis and soulfire. I wanted to make rookies mean something again since gurilla school made them obsolete. Now you have to bring rookies to the fight if you want to have a chance to get gifted squaddies :psi:

Very tempting if the Gifted do just get one power per level, still leaves incentive to build the psi lab for more powerful psi's. Good way to get familiar with the powers before committing the resources for full powered psi soldiers. Great concept fitting with the trade off traditions of the game and best mods already out there.
