Keep in mind that this is the Vanilla XCOM version of the mod. It won't work if you're using War of the Chosen, since Firaxis changed the way ability trees are handled in the config files very substantially. Try the WotC version and see if that helps.

@Ice
Dude, you've obviously got a mod conflict if no-one else is reporting this..
Prince Ice Blaze Winters 18 May, 2020 @ 7:16pm
this mod needs an update or something because the "gifted" soldiers have NO ABILITIES, the entire tree is listed as none, including the squaddie ability, making it impossible to level up and use them and causing them to have a permanent level up icon.

Awesome mod, hate how psi bois don't really come into play until the mid game.
Thanks for this!
Malidictus 5 Sep, 2018 @ 4:31am
I was gonna' say: I don't see how Psi Rookies could override your classes given what it does and that it hasn't changed. Glad you got it sorted and I agree - Psi Rookies is awesome and frankly how Psychic Soldiers should have been treated in the base game.

Pegazul: You are right. I played around with other mods, and it turned out to clash with a different one that altered the promotions. I'll delete my previous comment. I really like your mod though, which is why I was reluctant to unsub it. Glad to have it back in the game. : )
Nasarog 4 Sep, 2018 @ 3:51pm
Yea, I've never had an issue with or as a result of this mod.
Pegazul  [author] 4 Sep, 2018 @ 2:42pm
This mod hasn't changed since it came out and it doesn't delete anything. What ever happened to you was not caused by this mod. Probably a bad mixture of other mods that conflicted with each other.

Nice to see Psi Rookies return. Thanks for keeping it updated.

Hey guys i uploaded a new WOTC version of this mod here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1139003562

I hope it works good - Enjoy ! :psi:
Malidictus 30 Aug, 2017 @ 7:02am
Sadly, the mod won't work. Firaxis changed the format for defining classes. The new one goes:

SoldierRanks=(AbilitySlots=((),(AbilityType=(AbilityName="Stasis", ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon))),aStatProgression=((StatType=eStat_Offense,StatAmount=2), (StatType=eStat_HP,StatAmount=1), (StatType=eStat_PsiOffense,StatAmount=50), (StatType=eStat_Strength,StatAmount=0), (StatType=eStat_Hacking,StatAmount=0), (StatType=eStat_CombatSims,StatAmount=1), (StatType=eStat_Will,StatAmount=5)))

Empty brackets deonte no ability. eStat_Will only shows up on the Squaddie update. I've been messing with my ripoff of your mod all day today :)
Nasarog 29 Aug, 2017 @ 2:01pm
I will update if I come up against anything. I really liked this class.
Pegazul  [author] 29 Aug, 2017 @ 1:32pm
I wont get War of the Chosen for a while so i wont be able to update it. With some luck it will just work :spazwinky:
Nasarog 29 Aug, 2017 @ 11:31am
Willl this be updated for War of the Chosen?
Mr. Clink Clank 16 Aug, 2017 @ 5:29pm
I outfitted my soldiers with the gifted class, but whenever we do the starting mission they don't have any abilities. After the mission is finished and they are promoted they just became some other class. Is there something that I'm missing? Thanks
Grimxonic 10 May, 2017 @ 4:50pm
Thank you SO much for this mod!

good
Nasarog 19 Mar, 2017 @ 5:48am
Any chance you can update the skill tree for these guys to work with LW2, or make a LW2 compatible unit?
Nasarog 30 Jan, 2017 @ 7:54am
Yes, it does work for LW 2. I have a gifted in my game and they are awesome.
Greymalkin 28 Jan, 2017 @ 2:54am
@Pegazul Thanks, so you discard fixing that yourself?
@ Legion It works with LW2 fine.
Pegazul  [author] 27 Jan, 2017 @ 9:47am
@ sergei the modded PCS dont work cause the guy made them only for the actual psi ops.
@ Legion I dont know. I havent tried LW2.
Greymalkin 27 Jan, 2017 @ 12:02am
Great mod. Psi PCS can't be equipped on Gifted, though, Any plans to fix it? Thanks!
Pegazul  [author] 14 Jan, 2017 @ 10:14pm
Still works. Might be a different mod causing that problem.
carstenstrieder 14 Jan, 2017 @ 4:40pm
Does the mod still work? Unfortunately, I have no training in the guerrilla school ...
Pegazul  [author] 7 Aug, 2016 @ 8:59am
@matness Im pretty sure you can earn achievements, yes.
Matnes 7 Aug, 2016 @ 3:24am
Is it possible to earn achievements with this mod?
Fenrisudo 29 Jul, 2016 @ 11:16am
Thanks Pegazul :D
Pegazul  [author] 29 Jul, 2016 @ 10:19am
For now the mod will stay the way it is. I'll have a look at the LW perk mod to see if it would be easy to add.
Fenrisudo 29 Jul, 2016 @ 8:03am
I second Farewell comment right below :)
Malidictus 26 Jul, 2016 @ 7:24am
Well, my mod is done. It's 90% your mod with the aforementioned tweakes. I don't know if posting a link to it here is poor form (probably is), but thank you kindly for the permission. I really like my psychic soldiers now :)
Malidictus 23 Jul, 2016 @ 1:33pm
Thank you kindly. So far my changes are fairly small - I dumped Schism entire and put Soulfire in its place, but at reduced low-tier damage. The base game sets it at 5, 6, 7 (+/- 1), whereas I set it to 3, 5, 7. In the low levels, having a skill which does a guaranteed 4 damage at least while ignoring cover and armour is too powerful. A guaranteed 7 damage on a 4 turn cooldown isn't that bad when paired up against plasma weapons.

Thanks for your understanding :)
IllI 23 Jul, 2016 @ 12:01pm
have any plan to build a third skill tree for LW perk mod?
Pegazul  [author] 23 Jul, 2016 @ 11:40am
Malidictus thats fine. I made the mod for people to have fun. Your welcome to use what ever parts you need.
Malidictus 22 Jul, 2016 @ 2:02pm
I've been playing around with the settings in your Gifted class quite extensively, and I'm starting to consider wrapping the changes into a mod of my own. Would you be OK with me basically using the majority of your work with some alterations on top of it? If not, then I'm simply not going to publish anything and just put the alterations into my own client.
IllI 21 Jul, 2016 @ 8:50pm
finally I can use my Psi soldiers in early game instead of just final battle.THX!
Mace 15 Jul, 2016 @ 12:34pm
I'm just happy that someone did this because as someone who got a Psi Op solider maxed out with well everything they are pretty overpowered and the Gifted I think work out much better and more balanced, again to me this is something the game should of had from the get go and making OP Psi soliders should of been late game and optional.
Pegazul  [author] 15 Jul, 2016 @ 11:53am
Im glad you guys like the mod :) and im happy the latest DLC did not break it. I have not been working on it in a while and last time i checked making the psi stat show up was quite complicated. I might work on it again in the future but for now things will probably stay the same. :happymeat:
Mace 15 Jul, 2016 @ 9:22am
I love the mod, it makes Psi Ops to me like they were in Enemy Unknown, also have you looked into a fix to get the Psi stat the show up? (Not that it is that important).
Zigg Price 12 Jul, 2016 @ 1:13pm
Any chance of getting a LW version of this mod that adds in the two new perks?
Juravis 3 Jul, 2016 @ 1:00pm
If you use Psi Rookies you might be interested in my Disable PSI Lab mod to prevent PSI Operatives.
Lugaru 26 Jun, 2016 @ 6:39pm
I absolutely love this mod.... it kind of feels like the way 'the game should be played' and goes well with Spectrum which adds a ton of classes... which got me thinking... have you considered putting out a mod that splits the Psi Rookie into 2 or more classes? There are scriipts out there for reviving fallen characters, healing, setting things on fire, creating shields... it could be a lot of fun having a hand full of gifted soldiers that feel very different from each other.
Pegazul  [author] 22 May, 2016 @ 8:29am
yes other psi mods dont work for gifted because they are hard coded for psi operatives which the game treats very differently.
Belial 22 May, 2016 @ 8:26am
Actually I just checked it again and it showed 4 hp on character view screen, but 6 hp during mission. Im not sure that captain ranked psi should have 6 hp though.
Also if Im using mods like PSI PCS gifted do not qualify as PSI unit for them. Im sure I had other occasion like this, but cant remember what it was
Pegazul  [author] 22 May, 2016 @ 8:11am
Just did a test with the new DLC and my gifted gained HP from ranking up just fine.
Pegazul  [author] 21 May, 2016 @ 8:32pm
@belial they should gain HP at the normal rate like the specialist i think. If they arent gaining HP its another bug the DLC intorduced. The psi units thing is true. Its a custom class that uses the psi abilities and gains psi stats. The UI does not reflect this but they are there.

I havent played the DLC yet so i havent done much testing. If there are more bugs let me know people.
Belial 21 May, 2016 @ 2:09pm
Gifted soldiers seem to not gain any HP as they level up. Im at captain now and still at 4 hp. Is this supposed to happen? Aslo it seems the game doesnt consider them a PSI units sometimes and also doesnt show their psi stats
rekkaryo2000 14 May, 2016 @ 7:26pm
I like this class far more than the psi class in-game. This one feels more cohesive, plus my psychics have to work now for their cool abilities. Great job!
Infinex_Infinity 14 May, 2016 @ 8:53am
Thank you. Can't try it again yet due to downloading Development Tools, but thank you in advance for updating it.
